NH Amsterdam Caransa

2 night weekend stay. The hotel is really good, the staff are excellent and very helpful, The location is both a good selling point, with great transport links to Central station, but unfortunately, also its biggest issue. Noise

We were a party of 8, probably 6 of which had issues with the noise. The hotel do provide earplugs, but it's a busy square and is next to 2/3 nightclubs... So it's noisy till 6 or 7am on a Friday and Saturday night.

The space of the room is excellent in Amsterdam. Location is good and it’s easy to take the tram to go Central station.

The hotel is located right around the Rembrant Square, so there are lots of restaurants. however people party during the weekend. It is very noisy at night. When the windows are closed, it’s better. If windows cannot be closed because of the heat, then it’s very noisy. The air conditioning in the hotel, like any other hotels in Europe, is not as strong as in U.S. They are very conscious of green environment and clean air. They rather endure heat than turning on air- conditioning. However, it’s too hot for us to close the windows and too noisy to not close the windows. It is a situation of to be or not to be.

The staff were friendly and helpful. it was spotlessly clean in all areas. the breakfast was also great with a wide selection. it is very central.

It is advertised as having parking, they don’t. they use a company that collects your car and takes it away and brings it back. it’s about 10k from the hotel and you just have to trust them. There is also a large nightclub two doors down and it gets quite loud from people leaving at around 3am. we were woken by noise a couple of nights from people smashing bottles and general noise of large groups of people. yes I could have closed the window to lessen the noise but there’s no A/C in the room and it’s hot!

This hotel was wonderful. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It was my partners birthday and they made it extra special, went above and beyond during our stay. Our room was very clean and was very spacious which we liked, plenty of place to store luggage etc! The bathroom was nice too! This hotel was very central to everything, with a tram stop right outside. There was plenty of places to eat and drink around the hotel too! Would defiantly book here again!

Can be a little loud in the night, but this did not effect us. They did provide ear plugs too which was a nice gesture. Nothing else to report here, we were very happy with everything else.

property was very clean and spacious. staff were so kind and helpful and would do everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. it was my friends 21st birthday birthday and they made it extra special by delivering us balloons and some gifts. As 2 young girls travelling on their own we felt very safe and welcomed in this hotel. the location is perfect all attractions were walking distance and if not the tram line stops right out side the hotel and takes you into the centre. would recommend this hotel to everyone and would love to return. thank you NH Caransa staff for making our trip so special.

The hotel's biggest asset is its people. Reception employees are extremely helpful and kind. They would go out of their way to help and provide excellent recommendations. The second thing to highlight is the location on Rembrandtplein, which is a place to be especially at night. It is so vibrant and full of coffee shops and bars. It is also a good place to just sit and enjoy watching around. It is really central to go anywhere on foot (20 minutes maximum) or using the tram which has a stop in front of the hotel entrance directly, and another stop just a few meters away.

The fact that the shower leaks water to the whole bathroom floor!

Room was very nice, Breakfast had many options. Location has good for shopping. but not close to the museums Tram was right across the way. And if it is winter there was a skating rink there too

Wifi not good. One could pay for an upgrade but I feel that how well connected everyone is these days this is unacceptable. Also, I feel I should have been informed that the hotel was not accessible by car and that one had to walk a bit to the hotel....not far but if lots of luggage and corralling kids it could be difficutl

The WiFi system connection provided is hopeless and useless..

The location was fab. Did as it said on the tin and they left a little bottle of champagne with balloons for my other half celebrating his 30th. Very kind of them!

My only complaint was the room was so hot. The air didn’t really work and the window only opened a little. We had to have it open constantly to keep the room a little cooler.

The hotel has great location! The hotel staff at the reception were very helpful and very kind. For deciding not to need a room cleaner, for each day you get a voucher for a drink in a hotel's bar, what I think is a very good idea. Capuccino in the bar was delicious, also for Italians :-)!

Breakfast was served in the other NH hotel across the Rembrandtplein, which is not a problem at all. The breakfast was just ok, not suitable for "healthy diet". Maybe two varieties of vegetable or fruit smoothies or at least plant based milk without added sugar would be welcome. The choice of granolas was great indeed.
