The Bolster

Super convenient that they had a room set up for 3, it's usually hard to find one! The location was quite central and touristy but easy to access good museums and sites. The street is loud indeed but the triple room being on the 4th floor really saved us from any noise. In addition, the blackout covers for the windows and insolation meant we slept like babies! Overall a good value for the price!

Nothing in particular, staircase is indeed super narrow and uncomfortable to climb with things and the bar downstairs is always crowded and loud but nothing that seriously disturbed our stay.

amazing location, and amazing decor, but more importantly amazing receptionist (shoutout to Sorina) thank you for being amazing! would love to stay again once were back again on our work trip if budget allows 😂. the property was in the process of refurbishment when we stayed, but it was amazing, a true boutique hotel with amazing hospitality and customer service.

the ground floor level is a pub, and the reception was in the first floor. although we wanted a night life, it was a bit much getting back having to go through a crowd of people to access the door to the hotel, which was to the side of the entrance of the pub! beware those whose bringing heavy sets of luggage expecting a lift or reception on the ground level!

Location was good, Hannah was extremely helpful and went out of her way to help us with leaving our bags and getting our room ready.

Stairs were very very steep and did not have railings all the way. First floor to second floor steps had a sensor light which did not come on until you had almost crawled up the stairs with no railing. Would not stay again due to stairs. We are middle aged.

Really liked the decor and finishes in the room. Rain fall shower with excellent pressure, a Nespresso machine and ample plugs for charging devices! Fast Wi-Fi and the room was made up daily with fresh towels also. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. I also just want to acknowledge the lady who checked us in and check us out, she was so helpful and allowed us to store our bags at check in, give us the keys to the room and had our room ready early. She also helped guide us to a near by supermarket where you can store your luggage after check out!

The only bad thing I have to say is that the room gets extremely warm and there is no way to open a window (in our case a door). The air unit in the room only does heat or a fan which doesn’t really cool the room down. I can understand the need to keep the door locked as it leads out onto an unsecured rooftop but maybe consider installing a device that can limit the amount the door can be opened so guests can let in some air/cool down the room at night.

lots of character, the beds are so comfortable. really nice bathroom and shower.. staff are so nice and helpful. great location if you want to be in all the action. we really enjoyed our stay.

it can be a bit noisy as it is on top of a bar, but it wasn’t too bad and we all managed to sleep through it. the room we was in was very nice, but it was at the top of the building, up 4 flights of steep stairs, wouldn’t recommend to anyone with mobility issues, but it wasn’t a problem for us.

Room was very comfy, clean and warm. The location is great very accessible by public transport from airport and surrounded by amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful and helped when we needed advice with directions and booking tours.

We were staying on the top floor, so up 5 flights of steep stairs, which is to be expected in Amsterdam that the stairs are steep but with luggage and no lift, it was a bit harder than expected although the staff did offer to help with luggage.

Staff was really friendly and the location was great, very central and easily accessible to main attractions. The room was comfortable and clean.

Narrow and steep stairs, not the most convenient if you are travelling with kids or have multiple suitcases. Also the location of the hotel is right above the bars/pubs so if you're a light sleeper, it could be disruptive although to be fair, it didn't really affect us.

We were very close to one of the main city squares, Rembrandtplein. Restaurants and some main city attractions were close by. On our first day, the staff was very helpful. They provided us with maps and reference points.

The room was smaller than I expected, but according to Amsterdam´s architecture, it is normal. We rested comfortably without any issues. Our room was towards the back of the building. Away from the main street.

The location is absolutely amazing, 5 mins walking from metro station, literally in Rembrandtlplein: one of the two pub squares in the city

Very steep stairs (it's Amsterdam nothing to do with the hotel) The reception isn't available 24hrs, and you have to wake up early to get your room cleaned, ( we woke up couple of days late 11:30-1400.., and the cleaning staff was already done with the work) Our room was so small, i couldn't put my baggage on the floor

The bedroom looking out onto the street was fabulous! Room was exactly the same as in the photos. Bathroom was super clean and shower was lovely. The staff were so friendly and helpful! Fresh towels were brought to the room each day and the beds made. Such a central location also to many of the tourist attractions! I would highly recommend The Bolster to anyone visiting Amsterdam! And will definitely stay here again when I return 😁
