WestCord City Centre Hotel

The location is great with easy access to transport, food and entertainment. Everything is walkable so much so that we didn't have to rely too much on public transport although the tram stop is literally at the door step. The complimentary coffee/tea at the lobby is very much appreciated too. A great pick-me-up before a day of sightseeing. The staff are friendly, accommodating and they even allowed us to check-in early which we were very grateful for.

The room we stayed in was of an awkward shape making moving luggage around difficult, but the view from the room was amazing. There's construction happening at the front of the hotel making it a bit difficult to navigate around with the luggage but there's alternative access via the back door so that's helpful. And there's also the noise during the day from all the works.

Very centrally located hotel. Rooms are small but comfortable. Breakfast is satisfactory.

Our bedroom didn't get clean all the 3 nights we were there.

In our room, the bathroom was very small. My tall partner was unable to sit in the toilet as it was boxed in by the shower and too close to the sink unit. I am pregnant, if I was further along in my pregnancy there is no way I would have been able to get in and out of the shower.

Perfect location, 5 mins walk from Central Station and Dam Square. Spotlessly clean and really friendly/helpful staff. Our heating was not working on the 1st night and Maria C in reception sorted out a room change immediately that we reported it, she was brilliant! My Husband had a birthday whilst we were there and he was given wine, balloons and a card, lovely touch!.. will definitely be back 😁

- Location is tiptop! Surrounded by cafés, restaurants, shops, touristy sights, you get to Dam Square with a 5-min walk! - A spacious, nice lobby with free drinking water and hot drinks. - Overall staff are nice, efficient, helpful and accommodating. Just need to improve a bit on the internal communication of the front desk, so customers don't need to repeat a request to different people. - Our room has been cleaned regularly during our 3-night stay by smiley, friendly cleaning staff who always smile and ask how you're doing. Love this small little thing. - There's elevator, YAY. I didn't need to carry my suitcase on those notoriously super steep suicidal Holland stairs" LOL - We're not bothered with the size of the room or the semitransparent shower (like a lot of reviewers said.) We're happy to have all the essentials there, shower cream, towels, space to hang your clothes, safe deposit, coffee/tea makers, simple stationary stuff.

- I'm used to small rooms in European hotels but the layout of our room (509) is kind of weird, with odd corners. - Bed can be a bit softer. - There was a bit of miscommunication about our wish to have the heating turned on that we ended up freezing. - Staff forgot to extend the use of our hotel card, so I couldn't get into the room (small thing) - Had to remind about the fridge in our room, though this request has been communicated 2 weeks prior the arrival.

Location was brilliant and breakfast was really good. The decor in the room was very tired, the walls need painting and the carpet was very worn.

Pre authorisation on my card now going on for a week even though I have stayed, paid and left...totally unacceptable as my funds are effectively "frozen" in my bank account....

Breakfast very good. Air conditioning was fantastic as hot while we were there. The location was exactly where we wanted to be as we are frequent visitors and like to be centrally located.

We booked a courtyard room with a request for a double bed. We got neither. Don't think the hotel have any double beds. Asked the receptionist for a courtyard room as on my booking print out. She didn't know what that was. Had to try and explain. Got what we had booked in the end. Seemed to think that a wedge shaped room overlooking a noisy alleyway was better! Claimed that we had only booked a standard room. Bit disappointed as we had booked 5 months earlier. Plenty of time to allocate the correct room and to grant any requests.

The breakfast buffet stands out as one of my favorite things about this hotel. Lots of choices and everything was delicious. Most of the attractions we visited were 1-2 miles away, but the temps were cool and comfortable for walking - we easily walked off the delicious food and beer we consumed while we were there. Also, it was easy to navigate back to the hotel because of its' location. The train station is in close walking distance, but we weren't able to take advantage. There is a small grocery store nearby where we purchased fresh fruit and wine. The front desk staff were helpful with arranging for transportation to the airport.

The room was tiny and there wasn't a lot of space for getting in and out of our suitcases. It made it difficult to keep our things organized. The glass bathroom/shower situation wasn't as bad as described in some of the reviews. We managed to time showers to maximize privacy.

I stayed in a single room which, for Amsterdam, was of a decent size, and very clean and comfortable. The location could not be better. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the train station and very close to tram stops. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. A great bonus is that there is a free drinks machine in the foyer, available 24 hours. I have already booked 2 more trips to Amsterdam and have booked to stay at the Westcord. Highly recommended!

Nothing negative to say.

Staff were great, location was great, Roo.s were clean, good breakfast with lots of options. Hotel was secure. Bathroom door didn't close properly but it was fixed same day - I was amazed! Staff even noticed that it was my wife's birthday and gave her a small gift to celebrate.

Rooms were small and odd shaped but I think this probably the same all over Amsterdam Centre. Shower door was not sealing - I should have said something but didn't. (Room 520) I expect it will be fixed now the I mention it here. No refrigerator in the room.
