the decor was unique, fun, classy in every nook and cranny! the bedroom decor was unique to each spacious room! The dining area was beautiful and and chicly decorated. the breakfast was hot and delicious with cold varieties to choose from. there was a top rated coffee machine also! fresh breads and granola and even lemon curd! the lounge area offered comfort and a large variety of beverages and snacks to have by signing an honor card after indicating what you had! it was a 3 minute walk to the train station and a 15 minute walk to the town center. the staff was helpful and friendly!

being a converted primary school building, there was no elevator. I feel that’s important to know prior to booking. otherwise everything was well appointed, very comfortable and peaceful!

Beautiful aesthetic. Comfortable beds. Good rainfall shower. Wonderful lounge with honesty bar, snacks, free water. Friendly staff. very easy booking process and online check out.

Rooms were VERY cold and the temperature could not be turned up. the bedroom was not cleaned very efficiently. Mould in shower grout, litter and cleaning products left behind in room.

Pretty much everything. The quiet location, the ambiance, the extensive breakfast, the staff especially was very nice, the chickens. Since we used it as a base for travels, we liked its closeness to the train station.

Sometimes had a difficult time finding a comfortable temperature, the air conditioning was sometimes too cold even at higher temperatures. We did not discover the option of opening one window until we left , although since you needed the heavy shade to block the light, we could not know how effective that would be.

Excellent location, close to the eating/shopping area and the train station. We loved the “living room” and the excellent free coffee. We specifically searched for an air-conditioned room, and the AC was very good: powerful and easily controlled. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.

They were doing some exterior work at the time we were there and there were men outside our bedroom windows and walking on the roof overhead at 8:30 AM the first morning. When we told the front desk staff, they said they would address it, and they did.

the hotel is stylishly decorated with beautiful and delightful interior decoration at every turn. the “living room” where residents can hang out in comfort and have free tea/coffee/snacks or partake of the mini bar, was a really comfortable addition to our hotel experience. while one of us was putting the baby to bed, the other could leave the room and relax. the hen coop in the garden was an added attraction for our daughter - who also loved the complimentary stuffed hen toy she received.

the stairs are very Dutch! very steep! the parking everywhere in Haarlem is very difficult- we booked the recommended secure parking about 3mins walk away (€29 for 24 hours).

This quiet boutique hotel in Haarlem is truly exceptional. The whole place is beautifully designed down to every detail, hotel staff is very friendly and always helpful. Our room was beautiful and very quiet, the bed very comfortable. The hotel is only 5 minutes on foot from the Haarlem train and bus station, and you can walk to the city center in 10 minutes, or rent a bicycle at the hotel for excursions (we rode them to the nearby beaches at Zandvoort and Bloemendaal aan Zee). Unfortunately we didn't have time to try the excellently rated on-site restaurant (De Ripper) during our stay, but we had a wonderful time nonetheless. Places like this are rare, so if you'd like to have a unique hotel experience and absolute comfort, I highly recommend a stay here.

I can't think of anything that could be improved.

Room was good sized, bed was very comfortable. The staff is very attentive and the facility is nicely maintained. Being near the station was very convenient and the main part of town is just a short (7~10 minute) walk. We stayed here instead of Amsterdam and found that Haarlem has numerous restaurants and some interesting museums. The bus to the airport was super convenient. It definitely beats staying in an airport hotel if you just have a few days between flights.

Just a minor point, but breakfast seemed overpriced. It is convenient to have breakfast in the hotel, but there are other options a short distance walk away.

Beautiful quiet location in a pretty street. Only a short walk to the main square. Also close to the train station and it was only 15 minutes by train to Amsterdam and easy to take a bus to Keukenhof. Very friendly welcoming staff. Delicious breakfast with lots of variety

Our room was very comfortable but quite dark, painted walls and ceiling in dark grey with not many lights.

Its a very funky hotel that has great furnishings and feels very relaxed. It is located very close to the centre of town but far enough away to be quiet in the evening/night

They seemed to be experiencing some plumbing problems. We had a blocked sink in the rook and I fear the drains were blocked downstairs which made the lounge area quite smelly. The reception were very responsive to our comments though and dealt with these as soon as we mentioned them.

We had a very friendly welcome. The breakfast was very good. In addition we have been asked for special wishes like an omelette and this was prepared according to our wishes.

The living room with coffee (and tea) and cookies. We were there twice and enjoyed the fresh bakery. This is really great service. Also the place of the Hotel, close to the center was perfect for us. The interior of every floor and every room design is very exceptional. You see the love for details.
