The location is good, in the centre of the city and close to public transport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were good and comfortable

The roadwork was unpleasant, apparently it's been going on for a long time. The uber drivers wouldn't pick us up in the front of the apartments. The washing machine was in the middle of the bathroom which was weird and unpractical. We got charged for an item (chips) which we didn't take but I ended up paying as we were still traveling when we received the email and didn't want to chase that issue.

Everything was fine at this hotel except for one main thing. Auckland CBD continues to be a long-standing subway construction-nightmare and sadly this hotel is in the middle of it. You can get around ok, but driving in it is nasty, and it’s also just a horrible look. Perhaps it will be completed this year, but for right now, I’d stay away from the construction. Down by the Viaduct for example.

On the second day, our room was entered with the door left wide open ( and yes everything had been “securely” locked). We couldn’t understand why, and asked the appropriate questions at reception, but without CCTV in the hallways, couldn’t get a conclusive answer. We continued with our stay but this was a strange and unsettling experience.

The staff were very lovely and professional (witnessed them dealing with some challenging people & they kept their cool). Windows opened for fresh air, bed was comfy, washer&dryer in one was useful.

We couldn't keep the bedroom door open to enjoy the aircon from the living area because the phone was constantly beeping .... but we also didn't call to have it fixed, i'm sure they would have if we'd alerted them. Parking is only validated at the advertised price for 1 exit - we used ubers and public transport while there, but just confirm that with the staff before booking if that's important to you.

For the money it was ok. If you park in the Wilson carpark which is next to hotel then don't pay the hotel pay at the exit. Far cheaper than hotel charge

Excellent location for the main commercial areas of the city and the ferries to Devonport and Waiheke island. Room was spotlessly clean every day and linen etc changed. We asked for a low floor and were placed on the 2nd floor which could have been very noisy due to general traffic and the massive roadworks for the subway system being installed. However , it was extremely quiet thanks to the quality of the glazing and the air con worked well. Bed was huge and very comfy. Supermarket 2 mins away.

The reception area is so tiny and people waiting there with loads of cases etc. rather a bad impression of what the place was going to be like, which was , in fact very good. My only complaint would be that I need a mirror ! The only one was just head sized in the bathroom and the bedroom or wardrobe needed a full length mirror

The location is perfect. We were able to park up for the entire time and just walk around everywhere. Everything was readily available to us to explore by just stepping out the front door. We had the Sky Tower just to the left of us and in such close proximity. The viaduct within another 5-10min walk - depending on the shoes you'd be wearing 😆 and all the shopping and kai you would ever want to explore. The concierge service was great and helped us with any and all our inquiries. The room we stayed in was perfectly sized for us - two bedroom apartment. We had every intent to cook BUT with all the different options to try, that kind of fell at the wayward 😊. Thank you so much Barclay Suites, I'll be back for sure.

Mmmmm....there was nothing within your control that I didn't like.

THE LOCATION WAS GREAT , ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE ,

THE PARKING WAS NEXT DOOR AND VERY EXPENSIVE, ALSO STAFF DID NOT ADVISE US THAT WE COULD GET A CHEAPER PARKING PACKAGE SO HAD TO PAY FIRST DAY AT HIGHER RATE AND THEY DID NOT ADVISE WHERE TO PARK AND SAY THERE WAS A DOOR ON A CERTAIN FLOOR TO THE STREET AND WE HAD TO CARRY TWO SUITCASES AROUND THE BLOCK AND UP A HILL TO GET TO THE MAIN DOOR , THEY ALSO INCREASED THE PAKING COST UP AFTER ADVISING ME A RATE, SAID THEY REALISED THEY QUOTED TO CHEAP.

Close to shopping precinct. Staff were mostly friendly. The room cleaners replaced towels and room items efficiently and were very nice themselves.

Lift very noisy and shaky for a 25 storey building. The .room across from us had the door ajar on the first day. I was going to advise reception that I thought it was odd but thought stay out of it. Later that night Police arrived and woke us up while dealing with that room. Management never contacted us after I advised our sleep was broken and my daughter was a little scared by the events.

When we arrived our room was not quite up to standard, the bed was not made up for our daughter and the room wasn't 100% clean. We talked to the staff and they were absolutely amazing, we were moved to another room that exceeded our expectations and the manager stopped in to make sure we were happy. Exceptional service, beautiful views of the Harbour, the sky tower and the Har our bridge. The washer and dryer were very handy, The beds were comfortable. I also booked in for a massage downstairs in the spa and it was absolutely amazing Highly Recommend!

Stunning views from the top floor apartment. Lovely apartment and within easy downhill walking distance of the quay.

The apartment had some maintenance issues, particularly the bathroom which desperately needed a new shower. Also the bathroom sink was blocked, which we reported but nothing was done. Difficult to work out the oven temperature as the numbers had worn off! Was annoying that there was rarely anyone on reception, just a note saying ‘Back in 5’. Difficult to speak to anyone.
