Avani Metropolis Auckland Residences

The staff was wonderful, even when the fire alarm caused an evacuation the staff remained friendly and calm. The bed was comfortable, and when there was an issue the staff responded immediately. Excellent view of the Sky Tower.

One of the windows didn't close properly because the handle was missing, but the staff managed to get it to shut more than I was able to. The water in the pool was very cloudy and needed to be cleaned.

Great location based in CBD. Walkable to main areas of Queen Street, Viaduct Harbour and Britomart, as well as accessing freeways. Room was excellent with pleasant views over the garden, as were facilities within. Great hot water and shower pressure and also had a seperate bath. Bed was very comfortable with quality. Very clean room with the small studio kitchen well equipped, including a Nespresso machine. Washing machine was a great bonus.

The property is a combination of residential/private rooms as well as hotel rooms. Although property is 'non-smoking', clearly residents at the property smoke and this permiated into the common areas on the floor (hallway, lift lobby etc). It was very pungent and stale. However, it did not permiate into the actual room.

Excellent location. Close enough to get to all the attractions you wanted to see- sky tower 10m walk, viaduct harbour 15m walk, art gallery 5m walk etc. The pool, spa and sauna were a pleasant addition after a full day of walking and exploring the city. Great places to eat within a few mins walk. Washing machine n dryer in our room was very handy.

The kettle and coffee maker were dirty. Although we ran water through the coffee maker, half a dozen times it’s still produced black specs. And there were still labels, from previous guests shopping in the cupboards. The external spa had the plastic cap covering all the wiring- missing. All the exposed wires were in the water so we gave that a miss just in case electrocution kicked in

The location was very good. The room was great. They had made an error during the booking period where they took another 2 days out of our account. We had to supply them with all the details of their "mistake," but in the end they fixed it and yes our money back. They then promised us a harbour view room. We were allowed to check in early and did get the harbour view on the 27th floor.

There was no housekeeping. We could get some for an extra $27 a day which we did. But we still ended up making the bed, washing the crockery and every day we had to ask (around 4pm) for clean towels, extra coffee (that we had to pay for)

Amazing view beautiful luxurious hotel staff was good except me and my husband only received one key on arrival so when I went back to ask for another key so my husband can have his own key the man at reception was threatening that we would get kicked out by security if there was other guess in our room which me and my husband were staying for a convention and we are not party people at all, so this was a bit offensive and unnecessary and almost felt like I was being accused and threatened other then that beautiful room beautiful accommodation amazing location amazing view and well equipped with everything you need oven stove coffee machine washer drying amazing facilities like the spas and heated pool spas were not very hot but really enjoyed that and having a sauna

This is the 5th time staying in the park view 1 bedroom suite. I love the view and it's an excellent location, handy to shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and it's fabulous having a balcony. I would recommend and probably stay again in the future.

The rooms have always seemed very clean, however this time I did notice quite a bit of dust on the bathroom glass shelving, also the fact that the towel rail is right next to the toilet seems a bit odd. The coffee machine didn't produce hot water so the coffee wasn't great but a kettle and instant coffee is also supplied. It would be awesome if some salt and pepper sachets were supplied.

A centrally located apartment in a residential tower a few steps from Albert Park and Auckland Gallery, an easy walk to shops on Elizabeth Street and eateries in the adjacent lanes. The facade and lobby are quite impressive. We stayed in a 2-bedroom corner apartment, the rooms were smallish but it had everything: well-equipped kitchen, laundry, a cozy living area, coffee machine, lush towels and a very comfortable bed in the bedroom with a view of Sky Tower. A large marble bathroom with a good shower, a separate bathtub and towel heat rack was very nice. It felt like living in Auckland:... Very helpful staff - Sara was exceptional!

More toiletries could be provided; we also struggled with the TV (but it could have been because we did not connect it to smart phone).

Nice CBD location. The whole place is clean and well-maintained. The room was cleaned, and towels were replaced daily. Close to restaurants, groceries and other primary needs. Mini kitchen with stove and oven was perfect for a long stay, you can cook, reheat etc. The Harbour view room was great. The swimming pool and gym are a bonus. Will definitely stay at Avani on the next trip to Auckland.

Wi-Fi is really important nowadays, particularly for overseas visitors. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi service in the room was very poor. Can't watch properly on the TV due to a poor Wi-Fi connection. Hope it gets proper attention.

* Price can be a bit lower * Dishwasher never cleans properly. I've stayed here 3 times in 3 rooms. And all the time - the dishwasher did not work properly. I had to manually clean the vessel again with vessel washing liquid. I think the dishwashing powder that they provide is not effective. * At this price, Complimentary Breakfast would have been great. No room service either.

The view was beautiful. Waking up every morning standing on the balcony with a coffee, listening to a city already alive and ready was so refreshing. The bathroom was so spacious and the tub itself was almost a spa in itself. My partner proposed to me on the balcony of our hotel room, it’s no restaurant but he knows I get really emotional so a private yet beautiful and captivating view was perfect for me.

The plug of the bath was abit hard for me to get out, but I managed in the end. I still thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing baths I had. The coffee machine was abit dirty (I cleaned it before leaving) and the hob above the oven I couldn’t figure out how to work because the signs on the wall were faded. Other than that everything was perfect
