Empire Apartments

My family stayed there while I was in hospital. It was a ideal location for them. They said the staff were helpful. The facilities were great and had exactly what they needed. Location was very handy for them and was great value for money. Appreciated the assistance when they needed to check out earlier than expected.

There is a $200 security deposit required that IS mentioned in the booking.com conditions, but I didn't realise it was a process that could take 3 days to refund, thankfully the staff were happy to help with an email for the bank to confirm the refund allowing it to be processed immediately ☺️

Wasn't aware that the terms and conditions had changed and that there was a $200 deposit due upon arrival as well as the amount due for the room, you may want to update your terms and conditions on booking.com Luckily I had the money to pay this, still waiting for deposit to be returned to my account.

They have provided clean sheets and towels.

No WiFi; WiFi needs to be purchased which is very unlikely for an accommodation. Even accommodation in the country area provides WiFi. Toilet lid in one if the bathrooms is broken, some wardrobes shelves are broken/unfixed. Staffs were quite unapproachable, offered minimal info.

The rooms were spacious and it was nice to have a private bathroom and kitchenette. All linens were clean and crisp and the room was a nice temperature. The staff were lovely and the service was prompt.

The bathroom floor could have used a bit more of a clean. In the kitchenette cabinets we could see quite a bit of dust and staining. Also our toilet leaked around the base.

The beds were comfortable and the staff were lovely

No air conditioning only fans, but once we opened the windows it did cool down. I had a shower and water went all over the floor, the shower did have good pressure though. Also did have to pay for parking around the corner

The hotel is located closed to the cbd which enabled us to walk everywhere from K Road down to Britomart. The apartment had basic cooking facilities that were useful and important when travelling with a family.

I loved the value....for the price our needs were met; the staff at the front were nicely presented and really helpful, the location was great.... only a 10min walk to Queen Street, the shower pressure was great and our stay was comfortable😁

just the shower drains needed a clean, there was no plugs for the sinks, parking was the main issue, can pay on the corner at Wilson Parking but can run into quite a bit if there for awhile (36 hrs was $33 on the weekend).....also extra cost if want wifi during stay, eaterys are closed on weekend downstairs - if dont bring own shopping then you can uber in, everything else i was fine with!

3 individual rooms,basic kitchen facilities with 2 bathrooms in walking distance to CBD, ticked all the boxes

Would have been great to have a sofa as well as table & chairs but can understand why they don't.

The beds were great

The shower and toilets were filthy. There was mud in the shower and poo marks in the toilet . No knives to eat with , no toaster and staff didn’t understand English when I explained there was only 3 staying but charged for 6 . The cleaner came and cleaned our bathroom. It was disgusting.
