Parkside Hotel & Apartments

The staff were welcoming and professional.

ALL areas were clean except for the lifts. As most clients us the lifts I would have thought that they were near the top of the list for the hotel hygiene standards. The lift runners were filthy the floor had debris build up in the corners and walls required cleaning. At 9am I observed the cleaner slop some water on the floor with a mop moved it around with the floor left wet no other cleaning took place. With Covid around I would have thought that the lift was a top priority for Gold Level standard considering the number of guests that have to us the lift to gain a access to their rooms. The room I was allocated was clean as was the bed linen .10/10.

Well appointed room, location of hotel, comfy beds, everything you need in the room, warm rooms - I wish I could have stayed another night or two with my cousin so we could have used all the facilities. Loved that you had a pool even though we didn't get a chance to use it.

Car park - I had to ring up to Reception twice because both parks I was allocated, someone had parked in them - we were tired and it was cold and just wanted to get up to our rooms.

Great location, comfy bed, pleasant staff. We were fortunate to have our room available before usual check-in time, so were able to drop our bags off and start exploring Auckland. Chromecast available in the room which was great. Would stay again.

Our water temperature in the bathroom wasn't very hot, so filling up the spa bath took ages and by the time it was full the water was very cool. We ended up filling up the jug a few times and boiling it to get the water temperature hot enough. We also weren't completely aware of the non smoking rooms. Usually when we've booked a hotel with a balcony you're able to smoke on them (as long as its outside), but unfortunately we had to traipse past reception out to the street everytime. One of the elevators was also out of order for majority of our stay so getting between levels took a long time - even the stairs weren't an easy option as you end up in a labyrinth trying to find your way out.

The location is great, there's minimal road noise and even though I have a lengthy list of things that could improve I feel like the on sale price I paid was fair for the condition of the rooms and level of service we received. Probably not the place to stay if you're looking for a romantic, boujee, pamper weekend but if you're looking for somewhere affordable to sleep while you hit up the city's food & bar spots and you don't plan to be at the hotel all that much Parkside is great. We parked under the building for $35 / night, the lifts take you right to your floor so coming and going doesn't feel monitored, we only saw one other guest throughout our stay so it was easy to feel comfortable in your space.

The hotel furnishings are tired, the bed was out of shape from over use, the carpet is coming away from the wall that was warping from the spa bath that opens into the bedroom area. The room was tidy but there are things that need seeing to, like proper mold, dust and grout cleaning and the bath, basin and sink wastes / taps could use a good proper scrub I requested house keeping at check in for the following day that never came.

It is beautiful, clean, and had a real hotel feel! One thing is missing.... THE RESTAURANT! It was lacking an eatery! With such a beautiful restaurant area - it's sad to see its closed.

I liked the fact that is contained all the necessary things we needed. The staff at reception were lovely upon arrival, during our stay, and at checkout! They used all their best endeavours to help us when needed! They were friend and vibrant! Great team! One person brought the group average down and that was the night time cleaner! He was evidently angry they I needed to use the bathroom, and said really nasty words in Spanish! He didn't know I am also of Latin American background and understood. As I was leaving the bathroom he said something to me which I couldn't make out - hit again seemed disgruntled and annoyed! I spoke to Les from reception about it and he was great!

Great location right around corner from Queen street with loads of restaurants in very close walking distance. We had a beautiful view over Myers park and city. Staff were lovely, really nice sunny small pool area with palm trees. It’s a really great hotel.

Nothing I didn’t like, just a few minor changes could be good. bathrooms could do with an upgrade now, possibly entire rooms, however considering they have seen some years they’re well kept and clean. wanted to go for breakfast one morning but was told it could only be room service, we had looked forward to going to the dining room which we saw upon check in but it seems now the restaurant doesn’t get used which is a shame because it has such a. beautiful indoor our door area for drinks and dining.

The room was spacious. The spa bath was very nice. Water pressure and shower was good. Room was clean. Location excellent. Staff friendly. View very nice over Myers Park. The wifi was good. Breakfast in the room was good. Kitchen equipment was good except no coffee plunger.

The microwave / oven thing took a while to figure how to use. Someone smoking on a nearby balcony meant i had to close my balcony door and windows, I would not stay here again now I know tgat smoking is allowed on balconies. The TV needed to be turned off completly so as not to keep turning on - this was hard to work out. No coffee plunger.

Very convenient location, a mere 20 minutes walk from the Waterfront. with its restaurants and shops. Very comfortable and well equipped room, with its own kitchenette. Good value for money given its central location.

Pleasant friendly and approachable staff but (a) they should not guess the answer to a guest's question. If they don't know the answer, say so. Visitors need accurate information (b) guests should NEVER be allowed to return to their rooms while a fire alarm is still sounding and the fire brigade has not signed off that a false alarm has occurred.

Awesome location. Rooms were clean and the bed was super comfortable and the staff were very friendly and professional and happy to assist. The tepid pool and hot tub were nice for a morning dip even in winter :)

Unfortunately the spa didn't work in the room we were allocated, which after a long drive with an excited 6 yr old wasn't ideal, and the hotel was fully booked so nothing could be done that evening. However the staff arranged for maintenance to look at it the next day and when it couldn't be fixed moved us to another room for the last night, which was greatly appreciated, Well done!

Lovely, quiet, hotel with character. Our studio came with a kitchenette and a washing machine/dryer which were great to have. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Booked the carpark as well which was very convenient under the hotel. I especially liked the location - a five minute walk to K Rd or Queen St for cafes/bars. Easy access by car to all motorways. Would def stay here again. : -)

Freezer in fridge defrosts regularly. Shower door leaks water over bathroom floor. Patio furniture on balcony would have been nice.
