Accent On Taupo Motor Lodge

We had the ‘guest room’ , a nice and quiet spot at the rear of the property under the home of the hosts. huge off street grass reserve out the back and a nice little sunny courtyard in front or the popular lake walk and ride across the road. Not at all modern but Very tidy and thoughtfully appointed. Very comfortable bed. spotlessly clean. excellent value for money for lake edge Taupo with swimable beach and the great 2mile bay Sailing club bar and pizzas right across the road. generous towels,toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities for the price. Guest laundry available. 3 Dog friendly rooms and 2 cute dogs on site with the friendly hosts. Bikes available to rent. A bit of a hidden gem for the price and location.

Enough room for luggage, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Everything was clean and tidy, no visible wear too. Great location and owner is very friendly. Wifi's good too. Reception is open until late which was great as I could hike all day until it was dark, then travel to Taupo.

My room wasn't preheated, but it was due to small error with my prepayment. I got an upgraded room which was more than enough compensation. Also, the heater was very strong so don't worry about room temperature even in winter.

We stayed in the cottage. The place was quite affordable and had a heat pump. It was build piecemeal by a prior owner. This makes it interesting but has also some downsides, see below. It was spacious. The owner is lovely and helpful; was a pleasure to chat and stay in this unusual place.

My bedroom was a cupboard. Not one part of the building fits to the rest. The floors and walls are uneven. Probably not good with kids, as there are potential accident and tripping spots. 10 minute drive to town and restaurants.

Had an excellent one night stop over in the one bedroom apartment room with views of the lake. Perfect location to the lake and lions walk and a short drive to supermarket and other amenities.Extremely clean room, comfy beds and friendly staff. Appreciated the blockout curtains! Would definitely stay here again.

I would book this room for a longer stay if it had a full size fridge and dishwasher. Also could do with a couple platters and serving bowls for cheeseboard / salads. (The back door garden area would be great if it was decked and furnished with outdoor chairs/ table. Such a lovely, private sunny afternoon spot...just an idea}

This was just what we were looking for: a quiet, comfortable stay. The small studio was clean and tidy and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. The bed was comfortable. We found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. We loved being just across the road from the lake. The Sailing Club on the water nearby was a great place for a drink and a pizza, and there was a very good takeaway shop within a short walking distance. A new supermaket is also nearby. It was great being slightly away from, but still near to, the centre of town.

Arrived much later than expected but that was no problem. Room was good size, well equipped, comfy bed, quiet, good sleep. Nice outdoor areas front and rear.of each unit. Sailing club just across the road on the lake for morning coffee in restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, dinner. As a solo traveller I felt safe here.

Water pressure in the shower wasn't very good, but maybe that's just a Taupo area thing.

The host was fantastic - friendly, professional, and really helpful/informative. The room was comfortable and the motel is perfectly located, opposite the lake and between the supermarket and the town. We travelled with our dogs and this motel accommodates them very well, with an off-lead space right behind the property.

The wifi dropped occasionally. That's not really an issue though.

Had all the facilities that we required for a weekend and only a 5 min drive to town but across the road from the lake and an eatery which was dog and child friendly. Was very clean and presentable.

Room was not serviced the next morning and it is always a bonus to come back to find your bed made and extra coffee/tea supplies provided. There were no signs to hang out to say Service / Don't Service so it wasn't because we didn't put a sign up.

Have stayed here before (as a regular Taupo Marathon runner), the staff are great and as a lone female traveler I feel very safe. The rooms are spotless and the location is lovely.

Unfortunately the new wifi system (recently installed) is not great, and when its not working you have no TV and no wifi. I was fine with my book but if you rely on good wifi it could be an issue.

The photos of the unit in the Booking.com were not the units available, they were of a house available to book. Pictures should match what you are booking. Also although it is advertised the motel rooms are on ground level they are actually 2 steps up and no hand rails. Made it very difficult for my husband.
