Hotel Solverde Spa and Wellness Center

Absolutely excellent hotel. No wonder this is the hotel of choice for the Portuguese national football team. We felt most comfortable, very well received by the staff. A wonderful breakfast, and especially most quiet/soundproofed rooms which provided plenty cooling by the air-conditioning for a much more comfortable sleep. The outdoor, fully heated salt-water pool was quite incredible and the private entrance to the beach was quite mesmerising with Sunset. We required some quick ironing which was gracefully performed by the hotel itself. It came back in a mere 20min, just on time for the wedding. Just incredible service, most kind staff. Would definitely return.

Nothing at all about the hotel. The local taxi-driver which was called by the hotel only spoke Portuguese which made it virtually impossible to communicate with him. The coverage for Uber is a bit tricky, so make sure to reserve plenty in advance and if you take a regular taxi make sure to take out your Google Translate with voice recorder out.

great place to stay to see Porto via train and avoid driving there. Francisco at the front desk helped with how to see Braga and the mid evil castles north of Porto. He was an awesome host. See Bom Jesus

I would love to have the spa and saunas open prior to 9:00 am

The room was much bigger and spacious than I expected, it was also much more modern than I assumed it would be by looking at the hotel's exterior. Same for the hotel in general, much more modern, classy and well kept than I expected. The view was yet another very pleasant surprise. The breakfast was good, decent variety and the food was well made and, seemingly, fresh. It's also very close to the beach, there's even a direct, private access from the hotel. There's 2 pools, 1 indoor and 1 exterior, both are spacious and with a lot of sunbeds. The water for both pools was heated which is also quite nice.

The hotel exterior looks very dated and ugly, perhaps some improvements can be made there as well. The room bathroom was a bit ugly, outdated and the bathtub wasn't the cleanest, same for the balcony. The outdoor pool also was a bit dirty.

Lovely room and view. The breakfast was awesome, great choice of foods from fruit and cereal to cooked breakfast to cheese and cold meats. Also pancakes and pastries etc. Great facilities such as the two swimming pools, crazy golf, pool tables all of which we used and the Spa was great too, loved the hydrotherapy pool. There was also tennis courts and volleyball court.

The main disappointment was the lack of tea/ coffee facilities in the room. You could ask for it via room service but it was cool by the time it got to you. The choice of food at dinner was not great. The main menu was the same every day but there was a daily menu but this was a set three course meal. Not everyone wants to have three courses. The bar menu was mainly sandwiches so was a bit limiting.

Excellent facilities. Heated saltwater pool and plenty of loungers without being crowded. Beach accessible from a private path underneath a small train line, mostly sandy but pebbly at the shoreline. (Beaches a 20min boardwalk stroll down to Espinho were all sand). Comfortable beds and excellent housekeeping ( though no evening turndown service). Beautiful sunsets from the balcony! Spa facilities were excellent, and had an excellent massage. Restaurant was a little pricey a la carte but reasonable daily set menu with generous dishes. Maitre'd was warm and very personable. Would happily return to stay here.

Decor is a little dated. Restaurant was quite dimly lit. Shuttle into Espinho Monday to Friday only.

The front desk personnel are very professional and helpful. The restaurant food and services are impeccable (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and reasonably priced. The room is average size with comfortable 2 single beds moved together. A safe and a mini bar. The spa services are delightful (hot tub, dry sauna, and swimming pools inside and outside). Turkish sauna is different from what we experienced in Istanbul a month ago. Long list of different types of massage and cosmetic procedures. All equipment is working well, and all spa premises are clean. Parking is free and easy.

I find it strange that in a room booked for two (2) people, the housekeeping put only one (1) complimentary bottle of water and one of small bathroom accessories (mini bar of hand soap, shower cap, sewing kit, pack of 3 q-tips, pack of 3 cosmetic cottons, and a shoe shine sponge!). I talked to the front desk about such a discrimination for a second person in the room, but it didn't help... The shower gel container is attached to the wall (which is totally acceptable). But no body lotion or Clinex of any kind. This way of penny savings doesn't fit the image of a spa resort with its grand lobby (P. Philippe clock, grand piano, etc.) and manicured exterior design.

Beautiful hotel with a great spa and large outdoor pool, and beautiful, manicured grounds, resulting in a truly restful stay. Restaurant is lovely. Ample parking. Great base for exploring the nearby Porto, good value for money.

The spa, pool, and underpass beach access all close at 8:00pm, which is too bad given that there is nothing else to do in the immediate area. The beach is not otherwise accessible as there is a railroad right outside the hotel. The beach is very rocky and is not suitable for swimming. There is a long boardwalk that we would have enjoyed for a sunset walk, but were not able to access after 8:00pm. A car is necessary.

very nice location. right at the ocean and very close to some small cities around. walking distance to multiple restaurants and bars (20-30min walk). not far from Porto (15-20min by car). overall good level of all facilities and nice spacious rooms with ocean view. they cost a bit more than regular ones, but it worth its price! very nice heated pool with sea water inside. even though the hotel was well occupied, at the pool and saunas there was not so many people.

I want to especially commend a key member of your team, Bruno, for promptly identifying that I had overpaid by £30 during check-in. I was impressed to find a missed call and a note under my door just a few hours later, letting me know that Bruno had identified the mistake and wanted to return the excess payment. This level of honesty and integrity truly speaks to the attitude and values of your leaders and professional staff, and I believe they have great careers ahead of them. Beyond the exceptional service, the SPA was a great experience that exceeded my expectations. The room was large and welcoming, and the bed mattress was as comfortable as clouds. The breakfast was delicious and complete, and even at checkout, the staff was sensational. I want to thank you all for making my stay so memorable, and I will definitely return and choose Solverde Wellness and Spa Hotel for my future stays. Keep up the excellent work! If there's something to be mentioned, it's a small detail and related with the lack of space when you seat in the toilet of room 236 bathroom, there's a glass door in front of you that's supposed to slide but it didn't as it was stuck and needed maintenance or a bit of oil.

The hotel was nice. I loved the relaxed atmosphere. The staff was friendly. I loved the spa offerings and my masseuse Cecila was wonderful. The front desk and attendants were very attentive and helpful. The dinner options were nice and I liked that a different daily 3 course meal was offered. The sauna options was just enough for me.

The pool areas closes at 8:30, that’s a little early. The shuttle service was nice but I wish it had a few more times offers and weekend service should be added.
