May Ramblas Hotel

Cozy room, clean, very particular view, nice terrace. Spacious bathroom. Excellent courtesy set, which also included things not always provided, such as toothbrush and toothpaste and a hairbrush. The girl who welcomed us was very kind both at the check in and in providing us with any kind of information.

The patio access window would not close, the latch was broken. Also, the thermostat was not working when we arrived. We appreciated that the receptionist provided us with a heat fan, but it actually did not heat and was too noisy. Also, we had to wait three out of our five day stay before it was fixed, which I think is a tad excessive.

The hotel is in a great location. It is just off Las Ramblas (but not right on it, so you don't get the noise or foot traffic). The room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff were really helpful and friendly.

Very minor - but the room was a little bit smaller than I expected, and I had an internal room so there was no natural light (the one window looked into a central tunnel in the building and another wall). I did know that I had a room without a balcony on the booking - so it wasn't a surprise and I wasn't upset, it was just a bit darker than I expected.

The hotel could not be in a better location - 10 metres from the La Ramblas junction and the Liceu Metro Station and yet on a side street so it's away from the hustle and bustle. My room was a pretty good size, comfortable bed, effective a/c/heating, nice bathroom, good water pressure, sufficient soap and shampoo. It faced the street on the 1st floor, so there was a little bit of street noise, but it was quiet from 10pm. No problems with noise at night.

1. Refrigerator in the room was pretty much useless - it was more effective keeping food warm than cooling it. 2. No big deal, but some of the fixings in the room could use some updating - towel rack in the bathroom was rusty, shelving in the shower was loose, wardrobe door hinge was broken, hangers were a little flimsy. 3. Kettle for hot water is not included in the room, but you can ask for one at reception and they will provide one. Cups/mugs are not provided.

Amazing location in the heart of Barcelona. Very lovely and welcoming staff. We had an issue with air conditioner but it got fixed quickly and for the time being we were given a fan. The room was ok with daily cleaning. Everything was clean. Once again, really loved the staff working here, one of the best from all the places I’ve been!

The water in the bathroom was not keeping the temperature, it would go very hot and then cold without adjusting anything. The room was a bit tired. The price was quite high.

This is our go-to hotel in Barcelona. You can leave your bags before your check-in time. The location, just a few steps off La Rambla and near the boqueria, is perfect.  The rooms are small, but comfy and clean, and the staff are very friendly and helpful.  The rates are very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area.  I have stayed here several times, and have never been disappointed!

Some rooms do not have refrigerators. Make sure you ask for one if you want it.

The Hotel is a great location to be able to walk around the centre. Everything is on your doorstep! If you enjoy bars and nightlife - this is a great place to be able to enjoy the scene here. Rooms are clear, comfy and the added bonus of having a fridge really helps! Every member of staff were absolutely lovely - welcoming, friendly and I was so grateful for that. I will come and stay again when next in Barcelona for this reason alone ( and location) Thanks so much :)

The wifi did drop in and out a lot at night. I didn't work from here just streamed some video / music.. Thats my only complaint.

We just stayed one night, check in was fast, the bedroom was very big, same as the bathroom. Location is good, a few meters from the metro station and the Ramblas to get a nice walk. The bed was comfortable enough and there were all the amenities we needed.

The shower looked dirty, there was some mold around and after taking a shower, I realized water was coming out from somewhere and kind of flooded the bathroom. Walls needed paint, the toilet door was in bad condition, the same as the floor.

.WLocation is perfect, walking distance from the most attractions. We stayed in room 501 (3 beds with terrace)First night we have issues with heating the Chech girl from reception was very helpful she brought for as small heater and extra duvet. Next morning the problem was fixed and it was very warm in the room. Room look at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. Manuel (reception guy) was so helpful. He give as a advice where to go to explore In general was spot on location and highly recommended. We are smokers and it was aloud to smoke at the balcony.

Very central to everything! +) Nice reception and open 24h; we could easily store our luggage safely before our room was ready and got a map and good infos from receptionist +) Perfect for a trip with friends (but probably not so good for families or people that can't sleep when it's too loud because of all the loud noises at night) +) Room for 3 people was good; the third person did not have to sleep on a sofa but had a proper bed

-) very loud surroundings eventhough it was side season, very thin walls, noise from outside comes through as if the windows were wide open. During main season you might notice the bar and nightlife just outside the hotel -) bathroom could have been a bit better (the armature of the sink couldn't be fully opened because of a clear construction mistake, shower door didn't close fully, room could have used some renovation from judging walls) but all was clean and therefore ok for us
