Hostal Marenostrum

The receptionists were very nice ladies. I was a bit afraid to leave my luggage before check-in but it is stored locked away, 100% secure. Everyone was nice and polite, the staff at breakfast and cleaning staff as well. Breakfast was not super rich but it was definitely enough. I would have appreciated some fresh vegetables myself. The room was small but very smartly designed. You have everything you might need and everything was clean! I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn't bothered by any noise from the street. The location is super convenient!

Honestly the first impression is a bit scary and I think the price could be a bit lower for what is offered. The beds were OK but I wouldn't want to stay and sleep on them all week.My sleep wasn't disturbed but I can imagine if the hotel is full you can be bothered by noise from neighbours or the hallway.

-good location (near to la rambla and to de puplic transport system, but still not too noisy in the room) -very friendly staff (gave us a lot of interesting tips for our trip) -way to the beach was okay (~30-40 min to walk - depends on wich beach you want to visit) -cleaning service (you can decide daily what should be done - only the bed or also the floor, etc.) -breakfast (bread, toast, butter, jam, chocolatecream, joghurt, warm and cold milk, tea, coffee, ham, cheese, some fresh fruits and some out of the can, cereals,...)

-small room (but for us - 2 girls for 5 nights- it was perfect)

Friendly stuff, good breakfasts, the variety of food was not super wide but everything was fresh and tasty, in particular jamon and croissants. Nice thing that you can come 1,5-2 h after the beginning of the breakfast and the stuff will be filling it until the end. Good location - cafes, restaurants, historical landmarks, shops, everything is close to the hostel. We were very happy with our location. Clean rooms - towels, bed sheets, enough space for clothes and luggage

Room for three people was small and the view from the window was to housekeeping area. But if you come to visit the city and not sitting in the hotel then it's not that critical

Perfect location with clean and nice place to crash after a day spent visiting and dining out - small rooms, very small, but efficient and clean and fit for purpose and price. We would come for afternoon nap and do evening round of visiting and dining because the location is so well placed that it allows that. On Rambla with a metro station next to it. Perfect Barcelona visiting location! During breakfast you can sit at a large window on Rambla and see all the people and morning life while having your..... Tea.

Real coffee costs extra in included breakfast - and is bad also. Free coffee is ness. Sucks always not to have good coffee in the morning, especially at included breakfast. The last day I learned to go straight after breakfast across the street to Capuccino place - best day, no migraines. Some of the staff was not as hospital as you would wish, but didn't have particular issues. Cheese was gone every day at breakfast and we had to wait for them to bring more - quite a lot. Each morning....

Bedroom was comfortable and quiet, even off a busy active street, the breakfast was top notch, variety and well presented. The location of hotel is outstanding, walkable to everywhere and subway 30 steps away.

nothing, we had a good stay in a wonderful location with a good breakfast to start the days. The staff were outstanding, informative and pleasant. In time updates will be needed as in any business.

Very good location on La Rambla - walking distance to city center and to metro station - very convenient! Very small room but it is possible to use common room downstairs - canteen with coffee and tea between - 2pm - 11.59 pm.

Quite noisy area during the night, we had window to La Rambla which is too noisy during the night due to night parties on the street... and during the day due to car traffic jams and lot of tourists outside...

I love staying at this hotel - great staff (Ivan was fantastic), great location, amazing breakfast, comfortable room. I had a twin room this time and I so appreciated it. I had some tough time in Barcelona, wasn't here for holidays, so having enough space to relax in really helped. I also appreciated early breakfast, it was so much easier to travel with some food in and no need to pay for overpriced sandwiches at the airport. Thank you!

TV wasn't working but I didn't need it.

When you come to Barcelona, you won't be spending much time in the room anyway, so the hostel stands out with its location and cleanliness despite the room sizes. The size of our room was sufficient, they created enough space with a compact design. We had read that the hostel's location was good, but we didn't expect it to be this amazing. We stayed for 4 nights and left very satisfied. I recommend it.

The location and overall care for the property.

The lack of variation in the breakfast menu. My stay was for a week. I would have liked some simple vegetable options and a mixed granola/ muesli cereal. I respect that most travelers are just a few nights - but for longer staying guest, a bit of variation in the menu would be nice. Also: The doors to the rooms are metal doors and frames. Every conversation in the hall is heard in the rooms. The doors are tight and make a lot of noise when closed. All night long I could hear the neighboring rooms open and close their doors. Some kind of sound absorption/acoustical ceiling tile is needed in the hallways.

Great location, very close to Liecu Metro. Room was clean, shower facilities good, bed was comfortable. Over looks La Rambla so view was great and not as noisy I thought, though ear plugs are advised. Felt secure. Simple but nice breakfast, lovely coffee machine. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again. After a busy day great to know I would be able to get back and relax.

No coffee/tea facilities in room, but you can go down to the breakfast area at any time and get a great coffee for €1.
