Room Mate Gerard

From the interior design to location and breakfast, everything was great! Nice view from the balcony, good breakfast options, walking distance from touristic areas and great options of restaurants near the hotel. By bus, it took around 40 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport. I would definitely come back to the hotel! PS: the music was excellent!!

When we arrived we were asked to pay for the accommodation. My experience with other hotels is different, meaning that the payment is done at check-out instead of check-in. The staff mentioned this was the policy, but nothing was written in regards to this while making the booking.

The room was excellent, really enjoyed the radio playing into the main room and bathroom. The view from the balcony was cool. Location was central enough to be not too far from anything we wanted to get to. We had to leave early due to flight cancellations and the staff were really helpful to us.

It was a bit noisy at times from the street, almost as if the door/window doesn't close properly or isn't sealed properly.

Breakfast was great

Some rennovation work next door which included drilling. Our room was a little small given cost of 300 a night.

The room was very nice and perfectly clean, bed super comfortable with great pillows. Shower was great too. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was also great with something different each day.

It would have been nice if it was not a self service bar and the lighting in the room wasn't great for doing your make up. That being said I would happily stay here again and recommend to others.

Really kind, helpful staff went the extra mile to help. Very good breakfast and perfect breakfast times (until 12 - why can’t all hotels do this?). Very comfortable beds and pillows, quiet and cosy room. Powerful, quality hairdryer. Central location short walk from many landmarks. Lots of good restaurants close by. Lovely neighbourhood. Enjoyed this hotel very much and the staff made a big impact in resolving some issues I had.

I found the room was too cold for my taste but the receptionist helped by making some adjustments to the heating which helped greatly. The safe in the room didn’t work. The entire hotel decor was nice but very dark. I found the room and bathroom to be quite dark, it was hard to do my makeup in the room. A proper wardrobe would have been nice (it was an exposed rail plus some drawers) but still did the job. Expensive minibar (but well equipped).

The bed and room were terrific. We booked last minute and felt the price was very reasonable for the accommodations.

The only thing we had issue with was noise. The first four nights we were there it was very quiet and we slept well. However we noticed a banging sound one night. It is hard to explain but it almost sounded like a door was being slammed or someone was jumping. We heard it all night long. We even heard it in the morning the next day. We told the front desk around midnight and they didn’t seem to care much. We had to turn on a sound machine to drown out the banging.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed chatting to them. I was given an early check-in for which i am grateful as i was quite tired. There was a great choice for breakfast, including fresh fruit. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed. Close to shops and restaurants but not crazy busy or noisy like Las Ramblas.

The taxis they ordered for me sometimes overcharged me big time. It was way more than an additional call-out fee. On one occasion I was taken to a restaurant and charged 13 euros on tariff 1. I took a taxi from the street on the way back and was charged only 5.70 euros on tariff 2! If the roof garden and bar were serviced by staff, they would have been more inviting. My stay at Gerard was, however, generally very good.

The staff was very-very nice and helpful, they memorised my husband's name and greeted him every time we were near reception area :) They also helped us find two perfect restaurants for a paella and made last minute reservations for us. The room was quiet and the mattress was quite comfortable. We asked for an additional duvet and the staff was happy to provide it. The toiletries were vegan which I personally liked.

The shower drain is not perfect, so if both guests want to take turns showering one after the other, dirty water will splash over the edge onto the floor. Wi-fi is not great.

The location is very good! Walking distance from all the most important tourist sights. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Bed was very big and the room was very comfortable size with the lovely extra space for a little office !

Over all was very good but if we want to get picky then the bathroom could have more light as it was too dark to put makeup on. An extra chair in the room would be helpful where to sit down or put staff on. Shower & tap was hard to adjust. It was cold or hot but after a while of fiddling with it we managed!
