The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon

Everything except check-in. I'm in love with hotel's design, the hotel even helped me to get pepper and salt from the restaurant in the dogs form. Everything in the room was well prepared. We had everything we needed.

We wrote beforehand that we will arrive earlier than check in time. We had a 9-hpur flight, so we were extremely tired and exhausted, but when we arrived, the room wasn't ready. And they asked us to wait for 2 hours, I understand that hotel is popular and busy, Even after two hours the room wasn't ready, so we had to wait more. We had complimentary drinks, but it was unacceptable.

Classy, luxurious and comfortable.

The check in and check out process was horrendous. When we checked in at 4pm, the room wasn’t ready yet? And when we asked for late checkout we weren’t granted, and at 12pm sharp our key card was promptly disabled? Is that how they treat guests here? Worst was when we got downstairs to the lobby finally, we see staff checking in people. At 12pm. What kind of stupid system is that?

The Standard is my go-to hotel whenever I visit a city that has the honour of hosting one. I stayed at the Ibiza Standard in December and they set a very high standard and I'm pleased to say Bangkok did not disappoint. Tami from the Ibiza Standard let the team know that I was visiting for a few days on the tail end of a work trip and they made an extra special effort to make we feel welcomed. The facilities are the best I've seen in all of the Standard hotels I have visited. It truly is a 5 star experience. And again, I must congratulate whoever hires the staff at The Standard because they are fantastic, friendly, helpful, welcoming. Great food options too and you get a free day pass to the Sky Beach bar next door. Location is right in the centre of all the buzz and easy to get around. I only wish they had some sort of customer loyalty card because at this point I'm pretty sure I would have earned a free stay! It maybe a little pricey compared to other hotels in the area but believe me, it's worth it. I cannot wait to be back!

Awesome view, spacious bathroom, nice comfy firm bed, built in wardrobe is highly functional and it has a Japanese toilet seat!

The hotel was almost flawless except for 1 thing - the room air conditioning cannot regulate temperatures set to anything warmer than 26degC.

Great location and very cool overall design of the lobby area, restaurants and rooms. Conveniently located at a skytrain station. Loved the japanese toilet in the room. Pool and gym area were really nice.

A/C is directed at your head when you're lying in bed. We actually slept upside down because of that. Breakfast hours were very chaotic. It was super crowded, we waited forever for our a la carte order and they mixed up our order but we were starving by then and ate it anyways. Though breakfast was included in our rate, we skipped it after the first day. Music on the terrace was way too loud if you just want to relax.

The room was amazing, I really loved the Hollywood vibe design they have done there. Such a cool colour palate. Loved the floor to ceiling windows overooking the hecticness of Bangkok. The bed was super comfortable, I slept so well! And the bathroom was amazing! The gym was super great - it was such a cool spot to work out, great equipment and staff on hand to help if needed. The pool was a great spot too, I really enjoyed relaxing with my morning coffee by the pool. We also spent several hours enjoying the pool bar, and we also had a wonderful Thai lunch on our last day. Great hotel! Can't wait to go back!

amazing spot our stay was short but amazing. the room amenities and service was exception, overall the hotel itself is a masterpiece with amazing things to explore. make sure to check out the rooftop at night

we were advise of a roof top Mexican party with unlimited tacos and a welcome drink at check in, to which we were very excited as my and my husband are from South America.. however the experience was less than exciting, the servers never took care of our order, and we barely had food brought to the table after almost 2 hours sitting there with other tables around us with plenty of food and drinks. other than that the hotel experience was great minus this minor incident.

The facilities are amazing, well crafted and the design is amazing.

The rooms were amazing and so were all facilities. The swimming pool was lovely and there was plenty of room for all the guests using it. The art work around the hotel and the items in the shop were great too. The food from breakfast to dinner was delicious and the cocktails and mocktails were some of the best we ever tasted. The staff were absolutely wonderful: very kind and really helpful. Could not have wished for a better stay in Bangkok! Free access to the top of the Mahanakhon tower was the icing on the cake!

the design of the entire hotel - across all facilities - is exceptional, modern, funny, all in a perfect way - I have never seen something similar before. Compared to this place, every one has to be considered as boring... the staff is wearing different uniforms, specifically designed for the hotel. No doubt, it is a busy, vibrant place (this particular atmosphere is even wanted, produced), music around all the time, - very good selection. The staff has been really great, friendly, competent, attentive, always in a good mood - if I have ever rated the staff of any other place as "10", they would deserve more. The hotel is located in the highest, very futuristic building in Bangkok (it has the floors 6-18) with access to the rooftop. Room: exceptional design, very modern, fancy but still cosy, high quality materials and finishing (I am obsessed with interior design) including a fully automated toilet, multiple extraordinary features, nice view with floor - ceiling windows even in the bathroom. Very clean and quiet. Breakfast/restaurant: has indoor and outdoor facilities, super attentive staff, nice selection of dishes which are served at the table (a la carte but all you can eat), high quality of food and it's presentation. Gym: extraordinary equipment (Life Fitness design line) - amazing for a hotel gym. Nice bright facility, connected to the pool area, some special equipment available. No surprise the staff was again very nice and helpful. Restaurant: comfortable, good service, slightly limited options for vegetarians. Location: Good, if you like to walk you are able to reach the main highlights within one hour. Metro station in front of the hotel. We have stayed 5 nights in a superior room. The overall user experience has been extraordinary (supposed you like a vibrant place). We will certainly come back.
