Montagna Hera Hotel

the personel was very helpful and kind and polite. they repsonded all our questions and gave us tipps about travelling in Istanbul. They were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was very good full with the nutritious stuffs such as egg, sausage, vegetables, fruits, jams, sesam oil, olives, etc.

the hotel was a bit in a steepy place and we had to walk 10 minutes a hilly street to reach Taksim square. I had no problem with that but my mother had back pain and it was difficult for her. However Istanbul's streets are all hilly and it is difficult to find an accommoation in a flat street.

Cosy and clean

Breakfast person kept looking at us for the whole 14 days as if we supervising us not to eat too much food...

Everything was as expected, comfortable, spacious and clean rooms, polite and helpful staff, good location, just a few minutes from Taksim Square. We had a very late check-in, and no problem at the reception, for which I'm thankful as we had students with us.

The clean service, the lady cleaned my trim very quickly and she didn’t changed the bedsheets and I used for a week the same one. Also the floor was not cleaned, she didn’t use hoover to clean apparently. During the breakfast the lady who organise breakfast didn’t smile for customer and she never say good morning, looks like she is very upset with something.

Istanbul is a slightly hilly area. Location wise, it is in the cheaper end of Istanbul. So you you should be aware it is in an area that is being currently modernised. When you look outside your window don't expect to see a great view. Having said that, you see the common side of life of Istanbul. It is where any normal person lives in Istanbul. The breakfast plates were individually wrapped. The food menu, although limited by choice because of Covid restrictions, was cooked by an exceptional chef. Mohammad, the morning receptionist, was exceptional. He made my stay very memorable. He advised me places to visit, got me discounted tours and got me great a great exchange rate for Turkish Lira. Price wise it was extremely cheap to live in and explore. Explore I did, I saw what tourist would see and also also the common person living in the area saw. Something you should be aware of there is a slight hill to climb to get to Taksim square. But I personally found it rather easy to climb, although the first time I thought it would be tough. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance. A BIM store is only 2 minutes walk away and across the store is a small restaurant, which serves traditional, genuine Turkish food. My room had an air conditioner and the shower has instant hot water, a delight.

The food menu choice was a bit weak, only because of Covid 19 restrictions.

The professionalism of the Reception Team day and time. The other thing is I felt unwell during my last day staying and the staff helped me getting to the car.

Clean , very handy to near by everything, Taxis available all the times. And once again the advice we get from the reception made our stay perfect apart from sickness.

Our entire stay at the hotel was amazing and Mohammed who was the receptionist was extremely helpful. He guided us really well when we use to show him the locations we wanted to visit. He also helped us in booking the tour for prince's island. Moreover, he was always helpful in all the questions we had regarding any place we wanted to visit. I would really thank the hotel and Mohammed for being really cooperative through out our stay and I would totally recommend this hotel to everyone coming to Istanbul

No improvements

It is very true that Muhammad is very helpful !! Staff are also good especially the house keeping , and room is actually big

Breakfast could be better

I like very much the service i received. The room was very nice and value the money i paid for 5 days stayed. The breakfast included was fantastic and delicious.

My room was in the fourth floor. For the first two days the lift was not working which was the only problem I got.
