Tryp by Wyndham Istanbul Taksim

The hotel service and staff was really nice. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Hotel room was clean.

The hotel is situated in a steep hilly road. It's very difficult for aged people to walk up to the top to reach the main road. The breakfast could be improved.

Staff (both at reception and restaurant) was very nice and always helpful. I requested a room change and they kindly did so. The hotel is located 5 minutes walking from Taksim square but also walking distance from many monuments and historical places in Istanbul: the amazing Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque, the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum, the Galata Tower, the Basilica/Cistern. The hotel is perfectly located for someone who wants to enjoy the city by walking and admiring its art, architecture and heritage.

This was my third stay in this hotel.I am a frequent visitor to the city. It is in an excellent location beside Taksim and Cihangir. Breakfast is served on the roof with a wonderful view of the Bosporus in the morning. Staff couldnt be more friendly and hospitable.

The only complaint is that the hotel is on a steep hill which might be difficult for those with mobility issues. Not the fault of the hotel obviously!

Location and staff

The hotel was perfect very nice and clean and hospitable , but the street was on a hill so it was a big slide , for a women of my age it was very difficult to walk in it especilly with travelling bags.

The big slide of the street , this was the only problem that I faced. So I diminished my stay to one night instead of 3 nights.

Located about a block from Taksim Square and the metro, this hotel was a great value. The room as well as the facility were clean and sanitized and the staff was friendly. The view from the hotel window as modest at best, but the view from the roof top restaurant and sitting area was spectacular. Breakfast was typical Turkish, and the wait staff went above and beyond to accommodate you. Everyone at the hotel spoke English to a degree, and every employee was polite and considerate. I recommend TRYP Wyndham Istanbul Taksim to any visitor wanting a clean / comfortable / reasonably priced hotel, with easy access anywhere.

Sadly we were in Turkey during the COVID 'Lock down' which had minimal effect on tourists because tourists were not restricted by the lockdown, but be sure to carry your passport or ID because several times a day, we were asked by the police walking the streets to produce ID. That however, was beyond the hotel's control. I do recommend the concierge put forth a little more effort to assist guests. I asked whether the metro system was open and he said "all transportation was closed" which was not true, and I asked about the ferry to Prince's Islands, which he also said was closed, and a quick walk to the pier proved him wrong again, the ferries were running but at a reduced schedule.

The location is excellent, access to Taksim square, metro, istiklal street, lots of restaurants and shops very close to the hotel. Also Kabatas port is 15 minutes on foot, which is useful. Staff is helpful and sweet.

It is not really comfortable and well-equipped enough for a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was not great, the quality of bedding was also nowhere near what it should have been. Our view was a wall of another hotel.

The staff were very helpful and always smiling. The property is very well located near taksim square and istiklal street, near to metro station. hotel was very clean and the views from hotel was awesome too
