Such a great welcome from Gail the hostess and her team, they are all so warm and friendly. Lovely room with a window looking out into a beautiful big willow tree. The location was perfect up above the town, quiet but only a short walk to the centre. Breakfasts were amazing! Lots of choice and I really enjoyed all the fruit, and on one day delicious medjool dates. A range of cooked breakfasts including a couple of vegetarian options. Nothing seemed too much to ask, for instance there was no problem when I asked for oatmilk instead of dairy.

Everything was perfect, so there was nothing I didn’t like!

Wonderfully warm welcome and I was looked after so well by the staff! It felt like home. Super comfortable bed and brilliant shower. Breakfast was first class! Nice quiet area and a pleasant short walk into Town. Gail was lovely, the perfect host. I was there for three nights. If ever I am down that way again, I will definitely stay at Ty Llew Lodge.

I heard on the News two nights ago that Booking com customers are not being paid on time. This is so disappointing to hear, especially during this difficult Cost of Living crisis people are having to negotiate. This is not something I expect to hear about a company like Booking.com

Franz Lehar must have written The Merry Widow in anticipatory celebration celebration of Gail, the owner/manager of Ty Llew Lodge. "Happiness is a choice' she tells me over my breakfast of smoked Usk salmon, scrambled eggs and herbs. She, with her team, led by Tracy, alongside, set out to prove that to be true. They have created a gentle and welcoming oasis in a cul de sac, just walking distance from the centre of the Brecon Beacons town of Abergavenny. The B&B is clean, elegant and very well presented. Please choose the separate bothy room in the back, ideal for lovers, although sadly I was alone. Gail guided me to find three walks on the Beacons and around; Sugarloaf hill, just a few miles away is a 2+ hour trek up to a summit with views over what seems to be all of Wales; Skirryd Fawr is even closer, a steep c 2km climb to another peak, great for an early morning trek; best of all but 30+km to the west was the waterfall walk through the glorious Brecon forests starting in the little village of Pontneddfechan off the A465. I will be coming back to hear more Welsh stories, history and the Gail smile.

The Breakfast was very good and nicely presented. The accommodation is not ideal for the older generation negotiating the stairs. However, everything was done to ensure safety and comfort for the guests. The location of the Lodge makes an excellent base to enjoy the facilities of the town. In spite of the very minor complaint I found every effort was made to provide the guest with a memorable stay. It is my intention to return to the area again and make use of the Lodge in future. It would give me much pleasure to meet the the staff and the warm welcome I experienced.

A shelving area in the shower cubicle to site the soap or shower gel which I found lacking.

Located a short and comfortable walk from the train station, and into town, Ty Llew Lodge is located on a pretty hill, in a pretty neighborhood. I received a warm greeting from the host, and her two beautiful and friendly Scottish Terrier dogs. I stayed for a single night, in a single room that was well equipped and very comfortable, with lovely views of Abergavenny and the mountains. Breakfast was delicious, the host is passionate about organic, locally sourced foods, and it was a perfect conclusion to a perfect short stay.

We chose to have a cooked breakfast on both days and they were both very good and beautifully served. The smoked salmon with scrambled eggs was delicious. The separate " self contained" unit we occupied was spotless with very modern décor and accessories. Gayle is a perfect Host and was very obliging on anything we needed.

We found the modern shower taps difficult to use. The bed pillows weren't to our satisfaction but we didn't bother to ask for replacements as it was such a short stay. A coffee table is needed near to the sofa whilst relaxing to watch tv.

Gail has turned out a really unique and welcoming BnB and it was a great place to stay when in the area for a wedding. The room and overall decor was really tasteful and clean, the breakfast was one of the best breakfast I have had (you won't leave hungry), and Gail and the team offer a really personal and inclusive service. Me and my Partner felt welcome from the minute we arrived and Gail and the team were at hand to help if we needed. We plan to visit Ty Llew Lodge again!

Honestly, nothing.

Breakfast was stunning. Very high quality. Great location, just a 5min walk to town centre, 10 minutes to station. Gail was fantastic, really friendly, very accommodating, early check-in and bag drop was very helpful

Room was very small. En-suite whilst functional was a little impractical. Somewhere to hang towels, fixed mirror in either bathroom or main room would have been helpful too. Minor gripes. It was advertised as a budget single and that's what it was, albeit a really clean, nicely appointed one.

We stayed for one night whilst visiting Abergavenny. The location is perfect being only a short pleasant walk into the town. We were greeted by the owner on arrival who was very welcoming and showed us the room and explained breakfast options. The room was a nice size, comfortable bed and en suite and was immaculately clean. The breakfast options were plentiful and exceeded our expectations. We had homemade honey and pancakes as well as lots of locally sourced fresh items. The owner chatted to us prior to checking out and was a super host. Would recommend and would definitely stay again.

A gem of a BnB with the friendliest owners, Mike and Gail who go out of their way to make their guests feel at home. I stayed at Ty Llew Lodge over the weekend of Abergavenny food festival and was given a warm welcome straight away and felt really comfortable as a single traveller. The room was immaculate and spotless, with a comfy bed and all the amenities you need (towels, hair dryer etc..) plus some thoughtful extra touches. Breakfast is a must here - Guests are treated to an a la carte menu and Gail cooked us up the most delicious cooked breakfasts using locally sourced ingredients along with a selection of other sweet and savoury options. Finally, the location is perfect for exploring Abergavenny - a short 5-10 min walk to the town centre. I would thoroughly recommend a stay at Ty Llew Lodge, for the quality of accommodation, outstanding breakfast and most of all, the warm hospitality received.
