The staff are very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is excellent and dinner spectacular (you did need to book dinner in advance of your stay though). Room 19 is a "single" but there is actually plenty of room for one guest, and it's clean and very comfortable. It does have slightly unconventional layout but the room rate is discounted to allow for that and it is therefore exceptional value. I like that they don't automatically service your room every day - but you can just hang a note on the door and they will do a clean if you prefer. The local countryside is glorious in summer - a walker's paradise.

Breakfast doesn't start until 8am - probably not an issue for most people! The shower door did let water out at the bottom - easily avoided once you know though. I thought the slightly creaky staircase running up alongside the room might be an issue but in practice it was fine.

The location, style and decor created a charming and warm atmosphere and staff were all very friendly and attentative.

I am 6ft 1in and we were given room 11 on top floor in the eves. I couldn't stand up fully in the bathroom, in the bath (which wasn't full length) and even though there was a powerful shower hose there was no shower curtain so had to sit in the bath. I think owners could at least advise when booking you into the room that there are height restrictions within the room to ensure you are okay with this. As we were only there 2 nights it was bearable but any longer or for tall people with back troubles it could be an issue.

The hotel deserves its 4 star rating. Clean and comfortable with character situated in the centre of Crickhowell. Friendly and polite staff. Excellent breakfast provided. The room was fully supplied with tea and coffee making facilities, USB charging points and wi-fi. The local area is worth exploring and has the ruins of a medieval castle located very near. The entrance to the ample free car parking requires careful negotiation of the entrance to the left of the building if travelling with a large vehicle. A well tended garden at the rear with picnic tables and parasols. A substantial steel fire exit on the second floor.

Presented with two keys, one for the room and another Yale type which I expected to be for the front door. It would have been helpful to be told on receipt that it was for the rear door. The provided kettle had a very short power lead which would benefit from an easily accessible adjacent socket.

Great stay in a lovely property. Crickhowell is a cute town and the dragon inn perfectly located. The pub/ hotel has a car park, and nice rooms - clean, neutral decor, comfy beds. Despite being over a pub it was very quiet - it is not a late night venue and seemed a calm and relaxed spot. lovely Welsh breakfast included. highly recommended! - also, dog friendly - maybe not in all rooms, so do check / let them know.

all good! the entry way to the parking seems narrow but it’s completely fine for any fairly normal sized car!

Its a cosy set of rooms over the restaurant. The mattress was fine, and it was so extremely quiet. The staff were really friendly. Although the boiler broke at one stage, we were able to shower in the block of rooms out the back and this really wasnt a problem. The food was good and the countryside around breathtaking.

The entrance to the parking was very narrow. I have a honda civic and we just drew the mirrors in and were fine, but I imagine if you had a wide car or were not so confident, it might have prevented you from parking. It didnt trouble us!

Spotlessly clean room; we had the Superior Double and this was spacious and well-equipped. It was at the front, but noise wasn't a problem as the street is quiet at night. Breakfast is good with plenty coffee provided (not rationed as it often is elsewhere!). We had a large group booking in the restaurant on our first evening and both dinner and service were superb. A big thank you to Bev for arranging this - all the staff were lovely and really helpful. We would gladly stay here again.

Nothing! The Standard Twin room that our daughters had was in the eaves and I didn't realize when booking that this meant you can't have a stand-up shower (there's a shower attachment over the bath). I should have looked at the pictures more closely! Still a very comfortable, clean room, though.

Breakfast was excellent, as was the service by the server who seemed to be the only person on duty but who was friendly and very efficient. Reception was excellent, too.

Our room was next to a fire door which made a loud bang every time it was shut. I noticed that it had a special hinge on it which was supposed to prevent slamming, but that had clearly broken. It was a short cut from, I think, the kitchen area downstairs so people were coming through it and letting it slam shut, quite late in the evening, after we had gone to bed.

A friendly and comfortable hotel with inexpensive yet good meals. A good breakfast included with the cost of the room. Comfortable bed. Quiet after 10.30 pm even though my room was over the High Street.

No room servicing during my 3 night stay. The entrance to the car park was very narrow and only just sufficient parking space. There was no lift and I had to carry my cases up narrow stairways.

Great location, friendly staff, great food with a decent wine list, great breakfast selection including a hot breakfast cooked fresh, clean and comfortable room, on site parking in the heart of Crickhowell....room was clean and bed was really comfortable and cozy! Hotel is nicely finished with up to date decor.

Shower wasn't a thermostatic mixer, so took ages to get it to the right temperature and keep it there, though it was plenty powerful enough, some traffic/pedestrian noise as the bedroom was right on the street and we slept with the window open, it's not a major throughway so disruption minimal.

Really comfy room in a lovely Inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the facilities were just right. I stayed here before going to Green Man Festival. Next year I'm going to book it for afterwards instead of before so I get to enjoy it even more after a few nights in a tent.

While the full welsh breakfast was superb it did take quite a long time to get to me after I ordered it.
