The Newbridge Hotel

Clean comfortable bed. Quiet, a great nights sleep. I had a early start, a decent breakfast to last me on my travels. Fantastic value! The cheapest anywhere on booking.com. I usually get a hostel, but there was no room left. So it was nice to have your own room with ensuite, and the cheapest anywhere, and best value for money. It's so expensive everywhere in the UK! Thanks Newbridge Hotel.

It's not a five-star hotel ... it's a pub. A local, friendly pub with a down-to-earth atmosphere. Go with that in mind, and you won't be disappointed. Room was quiet (on the top floor) and spotlessly clean Bed was exceptionally comfortable Tea and coffee was appreciated The welcome could not have been more friendly and all the staff were really helpful Good seating in garden Value for money - for the price, very good

On the night I stayed there was no food being served - I went to the local chip shop (so not really a gripe) The full-on bar atmosphere, with giant TVs, may not be to everyone's liking - it's a real pub, that's for sure. (But there's a comfy lounge that was completely empty when I stayed). No parking at the pub itself, but a two-minute walk to a free car park

The location was excellent on many levels, close to my family, friends and the area where I grew up. The food at breakfast was typically equal to most hotels, however, the overall experience and interaction with the cook and waitress Kim was much higher. My room (4) was perfect, it was quiet, well ventilated and provided a great nights sleep. Being on the top floor I was also impressed by the extended views across the town and hills around Newbridge. Yes the Newbridge Hotel infrastructure could be improve, but the overriding positive for me was the wonderful staff who where friendly and made me feel welcome.

Not much really, but to be critical outside of the room (4) the Hotel needs more attention regarding internal decoration and minor maintenance.

Location was good for us as it was 10min drive to family. Hosts were very friendly and helpful. Room was large and not cold. Facilities in the room ie - tea and coffee and milk. There was a band playing in the pub but we couldn't hear them from the room . All in all a comfortable stay and they extended our leave time from 10 am to 12.00 so wife was very happy with that. Happy wife , No earache ......

A bit worried about parking on the road but it had cameras all over so parked near one. Nothing else to dislike.

The Friendly nature of both staff and pub regulars. Plenty of parking opportunities around the pub for parking. We had booked breakfast for the morning but unfortunately a telephone call came and we had to cancel owing to booking out earlier than expected but they had in place a emergency contact number so we were able to text them and let them know that we had to leave before breakfast which was a very good idea for both parties, Many thanks for having us at your bup will come again sometime.

There are quite a number of steps to the bedrooms but the staff were more than willing to help you with your luggage.

I honestly can't fault this place. I'm a returning visitor and in terms of value for money, friendliness and location in town The Newbridge Hotel can't be beaten. The staff were super helpful with a couple of specific requests I had and went out of their way to make sure I was happy. Bed is comfy, rooms are cosy and homely and as a lone female traveller I always feel safe here. (Also, although I didn't get a chance to try it, their Monday to Wednesday carvery smelled and looked delicious, and their house red Merlot IS delicious!)

There is nothing I don't like, it suits me and my needs and preferences down to the ground. However, it may be worth considering (before leaving bad reviews!) that: The rooms are on top of a pub, but has its own separate entrance. There are 47 steps up to the rooms (with a landing after 20!) so if you have issues with mobility, this may be an issue. This hotel costs a ridiculously reasonable amount of money to stay in. Therefore the toilet seats aren't gold-plated, there is no lift or room service and Postman Pay doesn't kick your door open and sing you awake whilst shoving Barra Brith in your mouth. It is clean, supplies fluffy towels, toiletries and tea and coffee gubbins and in my view is super value.

The room was good for application. Ie three sharing although headroom was a little tight being family suit in the loft😂 and was more than a bargain value That said cleanliness and friendliness of staff was spot on and most excellent value for money with a perfect sleep before hitting the Mountainbike trails

I stay in a lot of hotels around Wales with my work and this one really stood out because the staff were so brilliantly friendly and accommodating. I'm usually travelling with my dog and it's ideal when there is no hidden charge for them. The overall price was very reasonable too. We were house-hunting in the area and staying here we had the best impression of the local area.

The room and en suite were very clean. The hotel provided free tea and coffee as well as shampoo and conditioner which was nice.

The shower head in the en suite was leaking and the sound of dripping was very annoying. Not a big deal though. The plumbing system in the hotel made a very loud noise throughout the night so I really struggled to sleep because of this.

Good location for local amenities. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

The room was clean . The overall quality was somewhat shabby and needs an uplift. The shower and hot water pumps are noisy. The water in the shower does not drain quickly and fills the cubicle. There is no towel rail or hooks for clothing in the bathroom. The door to the bathroom does not fit properly.
