Our 4 night stay was a very pleasant one. Good central location , and plenty of free on site parking. The staff are wonderful, and as a result a calm and friendly atmosphere is felt. Very welcoming and smooth check in with David the manager. A good time too.. lots of accommodation are a lot later. The three salmons check in is 2pm and 10.30 departure. We got the room at a good rate with booking in advance. A compact room, but very cosy with private bathroom and good quality linens and a range of toiletries and hospitality tray. Housekeeping daily, again this is not always standard.. so a plus for us. Breakfast was pleasant, using good quality ingredients and was cooked to order. The garden is very pretty and perfect with covid style spacing of wooden benches and wicker furniture under wooden structured canopies. A lovely traditional hotel with history and charm and still has actual keys, rather than credit card style opening. A big thank you to all the staff, but huge mention to, David, Sam and housekeepers Sharon and Lauren.

Generous portions well-cooked breakfasts. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Gardens really lovely to sit in the shade when heatwave struck.

Some uncertainty re communication between management staff and customers eg whether room would be refreshed each day. Perhaps bottled water could be available in bedrooms?

The Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming, even though they were short staffed. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We were in Usk for a wedding, and some of the family met up on the Friday evening for a meal, it was lovely. Our son and his wife, hadn’t booked an evening meal as they as they were travelling after work, but arrived just as we sat down, The hotel staff were very accommodating and made room for them to join us and gave them a meal. Plus the bed was extremely comfortable too. Many thanks to you all, brilliant time

The room was lovely, spacious and light and airy. Bed was lovely and comfortable with no problem sleeping. Nice view of courtyard from our room AND we could open our window as wide as we liked. (Hate the safety window latches). Breakfast was really tasty and staff were very welcoming The communal areas i.e Bar, were very well furnished and the outdoor area was well laid out with no noise from the busy main road. Nice to have housekeeping daily, replenished supplies daily and all very clean. The building has lots of history and a nice walk around Usk, with plenty to see. Large car park which is great.

I liked it all. But am glad we were in a quiet room.

Friendly professional kind staff and one of the best breakfasts I've had at a buidling of historic significance. Breakfast was serviced hot, quickly and in a room lounge bar that was very cosy, spacious and peaceful. Bedroom was up in the loft which I liked: comfortable clean with very good hot water. Nice bed and bedding. The floor creaked a bit but that's what historic buildings do. I liked the garden towards the rear where the car park is located with ample parking. I would definitely return.

I missed the entrance to the car park : maybe signage at night could be improved as the WAZE App (Sat Nav) was not accurate using the hotel address on Booking.Com or another reference to the cross streets would help in the hotel description on Booking.Com

Ideal location for exploring the surrounding area. The hotel had ample parking facilities. We arrived quite late but within the times specified and the night staff were very accommodating. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and the day staff were very professional and efficient.

For someone with arthritis in the spine and hips, I was unable to shower, as the shower was in the bath and the bath was too high to climb in to, so a strip wash had to suffice. However, that's a small price to pay for one night, so no complaints.

The night manager in particular was excellent, I felt safe as a female travelling alone (for part of the stay) particularly as I was in the main hotel. I had dinner at the hotel on my last night, which was excellent, the staff perhaps had an "off-night" as I wasn't checked on during my meal ("is everything okay", "would you like another drink" etc.) and I had to end up asking for the dessert menu, and subsequently the bill (it was table service throughout). Would still stay and eat again.

The location was perfect for my visit. The hotel has a rustic charm, expected of an old ‘coaching house,’ but the staff were very attentive and helpful. The food, prepared by Curtis, Paul et al was excellent.

The rooms could do with a bit on an upgrade in terms of decoration and showers. But they were OK

Friendly staff & good breakfast.

Slightly tired & could do with a lick of paint in some areas. Cobwebs on the ceiling in our bedroom, our window was rotten & would not stay open & no dressing table stool so had to kneel on the floor to use. Unfortunately I think this is overpriced for a 3* hotel

Easy to find with plenty of parking. Pretty room overlooking the gardens Lovely breakfast ,plenty to eat ,all.good quality. Great position in town just to walk out. Friendly staff.

Not many choices for evening meal but what we had was delicious. Nothing to do with hotel, but one rude guest talked loudly on phone on what should have been a peaceful. breakfast.
