Everything apart from no parking at all at the venue, the nearby parking only short stay we had to pay Premier in £5 to park at their car park which

Messed up my brothers booking as only gave him a twin instead of a family room. About a 15 min stroll to a long stay parking, there is long stay parking but for full day or 5 day rate.

The location was excellent. No parking at the hotel but car park nearby that you pay for. Good sized room, everything was clean, bathroom & bedding spotless too.

A little bit noisy at closing time, but not for long. We were in a room just over the doors to the pub. No problem to us really. The bedding wasn’t warm enough for a winters night but we found 2 extra quilts which we threw on the bed so we were ok!! Without them we would have been too cold!!

Central location, size of room, reasonably priced, helpful staff, cleanliness

There was no TV control wand, when asked for there was not one available, but as we were out most of the time it did not really matter to us. The food in the actual pub side of things in the evening (the fish and chips) was terrible and was not worthy of serving up the fish was small and all twisted up served with a very, very small portion of chips which had no likeness to the appetising picture of it in the window, and could have easily been done for the trade description act!

The lady on reception was amazing, very helpful, informative and hands on. The location. Excellent large room. (207) Very clean, tea and coffee making facilities which were replenished every day. Walk in shower which was brilliant, as requested due to mobility problems. Staff were all amazing. Food available all day. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant even when working under pressure. It was a very busy establishment. Excellent base to explore Monmothshire, Forest of Dean, Abbergavenny Cardiff, Ross on Wye.

The air conditioning in the bar/lounge/ dining area was blowing cold. The food in the restaurant was often cold, possibly due to cold air. Curry was disappointing, naan bread wasn't hot, popadoms not crispy. Parking is difficult due to the location of the hotel. We have stayed at this hotel before and would go back again if in that area.

Room was small but was adequate for one person for one night! The air conditioning was very efficient, quick and easy to turn on/off. I also liked the reading style light by the bedside.

It was a shame the window did not open, as I do like a bit if fresh air! Also on checkout, I waited 10 minutes after calling 0 on the reception phone to get a member of staff to attend as I had a query (as I know there was a drop off point for the room cards), but no one attended, so I had to go the the main pub. Not too much of an issue, but it could have saved me waiting if there was a sign.

First time that we have stayed at a Wetherspoons Hotel and what a pleasant surprise. A beautifully furnished and decorated large room in an Historic Inn / Hotel right in the centre of Monmouth. Of course downstairs there was a Wetherspoons pub /restaurant that always provides excellent quality and value food and drink. We ate there on both nights of our stay !! Due to it's location in an historic town the hotel has no parking so you have to park in a council car park a short walk away. Amazing value for the quality, the best budget stay we have had compared to the other budget chains.

We had a spacious and pleasant room overlooking the front of the building. There was air conditioning, which we needed. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day. We always found space to eat in the pub, even at the weekend. Staff were all friendly, helpful and efficient.

We found the bed a bit hard, and we had to leave the car in a public car park a little distance from the hotel (as is common with Wetherspoons). It can be noisy at weekends as it is situated right in the centre of town.

Welcoming staff. Good food, prompt service. Good location, and although no car park, good directions and fact sheet for the long stay council car park, which is reasonably priced. Excellent accommodation, very clean with laundry standards right up with the best.

No mustard or horse radish sauce!! Thought breakfast was included. It wasn't. Maybe my mistake but at the price paid, think it should have been. Maybe should have booked direct with yourselves. The breakfast in itself good value for money, but I thought I'd already paid for it! Maybe a website problem, more probably a website user problem!

characterful building convenient to the town centre, cosy room with the added benefit of air conditioning!

No parking facilities, parking is via Pay and Display car park nearby, could get expensive! You get a pass card for room access which goes out of date from midnight the day your due to leave, so if you leave your room before your ready to leave, like for breakfast for example you get locked out like I did, but I did get back in after speaking to staff.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. They really made it an excellent stay, despite the storms! Even the cleaner was lovely and found us a few extra bits much to the delight of our young son. I cannot praise the staff enough. We will definitely be returning when the weather improves. Excellent location for several castles, Tintern Abbey, the Forest of Dean. We had a family room, it was massive! Really good value for money, a fraction of the cost of other hotels nearby.

No on site parking. However, there is a long stay car park about 5-6 minutes walk away where 24hrs was about £5 so can't really complain!
