Lovely welcome and the staff were all helpful and friendly! It feels like the room is newly refurbished so everything is super comfortable and absolutely clean. A lovely place to land after a long trip. I didn't try the breakfast but the cooked options all looked gorgeous and I was given a huge pot of really nice coffee all to myself! Really nice to see a dairy free milk option in with the tea and coffee in the room too. There was everything I needed for my stay.

My only complaint, and it's not their fault, was it was incredibly hot! The heating wasn't on, but I guess it's just the ambient temperature of the hotel. My room faced the street which meant if I opened the window I had the town clock chiming every hour and traffic noise through the night. A fan for the room would have been amazing!

The property has been really well done and the rooms are lovely - the food is amazing- staff are great - Michelle is an absolute gem and literally spots things that no one else does - she is such as asset to the establishment

unfortunately my room was right above the bar and the front door so very noisy and the smoke from below wafted in so I couldn’t have the window open - Friday nights have live music until late so if you are in a walking holiday maybe not the best place to stay.

Very comfortable & clean hotel. A lovely gem of a hotel in a slightly forgettable grey Welsh town. The staff were very helpful and the room met all the expectations. Had to park on the road (free after 6pm) rather than the small rear car park. The breakfast was nice however my wife's Salmon Eggs Benedict was missing the hollandaise sauce and was only informed that they had run out when the breakfast was placed in front of her. Would have been best to be told before ordering really. Other than that a very nice stay.

Clock tower outside chimes the hour every hour.

I was helped upstairs by a member of staff who didn’t mind at all. opened the door and I just said wow!!! nothing what I expected at all stunning. The best ever to sleep in too.

I’ve only one pick here and that was breakfast time. lovely choice of items you pick times and any exceptions of diet etc.. However no choice of juices cereals nothing there: I was asked if I wanted juice or tea/coffee I asked for both which we had with no problem. I booked for 9am breakfast, was given drinks but breakfast didn’t arrive for over half hour. I didn’t like it was cold and looked undercooked. I was gutted such a shame.

Michelle and the staff were great and very accommodating. We will definitely stay again. It is 15 mins from Bike Park Wales. The breakfast is great and if you want to eat in the evening I would definitely recommend booking a table as you will not be disappointed with the menu. The rooms were large and clean and everything seemed well maintained. Great job!

The windows need to be double glazed/sound-proofed as the clock tower bells are annoying during the night. But really, it is not too bad but would just make everything perfect.

The Room was amazing. The best room in the house according to the staff! I was very surprised considering the price paid. It had a bath in the room and a seperate shower and toilet.

I would have liked to be told beforehand that I need to book a table for dinner. When we asked for a meal we were told they were full and we were immediately hijacked by a lady and taken across the road to an Indian Restraunt. We were not even given a choice it was bizare. It all happened so fast we weren't even given the chance to explain that I cannot tollerate spicy food!

Nice spacious and clean family room. Very good breakfast. Parking available for free but with limited spaces.

We arrived on Monday after 4pm so the kitchen was already closed, but there are other options on the other side of the street. We were asked to select our breakfast menu and time, but next day morning we had to wait nearly an hour to get the breakfast. The service was polite but clearly understaffed. One man was serving all hotel guests and other clients visiting the restaurant,

The room was huge (room5), the towels and linen were clean and soft, the bed was really comfy, we were in a room right above the bar and we didn't hear a single noise from there, the shower is great! Gorgeous smelling products provided for hand washing and showering, easy check in, the evening and breakfast meals were absolutely lovely, all of the staff were so lovely to us and we just couldn't fault it really. Oh, plenty of parking, too. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be recommending your hotel and restaurant to friends and family when they come up to stay with us!

The room was a little warm and faced the street so there were the usual evening street noises. We could hear the chainsaw snoring from what we think was the upstairs guest. Very early risers for work meant there was a lot of walking around noise and conversation on the street outside, but pretty tame compared to some other hotels I've stayed at.

This is an ideal place to stay as a starting point for visiting some of the beauty spots and places of interest in South Wales. The hotel has been recently refurbished with lovely crafted woodwork, attention to detail and in places, quirky. (The sports bar chairs are amazing!) Exceptionally clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. When I was ill during our stay, two staff in particular went the extra mile to look after us. Fabulous breakfast and I really can't praise The Tredegar Arms enough. There isn't a car park, (though one is being built), but we always found a space within a minute or two walk). If you are in South Wales, visit the Brecon Mountain Railway and,. 'The Big Pit', where you can go down a coalmine. Quite an experience.

If I was niggly, I would mention that there is no car park, (yet), but it really wasn't a problem.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the room was spacious, comfortable and the breakfast was incredible. We had dinner one of the nights and even though they were fully booked and we enquired very late, they managed to squeeze us in. The staff were really friendly, the location was perfect for what we needed. The staff were knowledgeable about the area, gave recommendations about local restaurants and things to do. For me, the price at the bar was very reasonable and well worth spending an evening at.

The fact it only has a 3 star rating! Should be much higher! They don't have private car park, but there is a free public car park 20 second walk away which is just as good.
