Celtic International Hotel Cardiff Airport

We have stayed here before and it’s just up the road from family. Food was excellent. Staff where really nice and attentive

Every thing was fine apart from the mattress was uncomfortable. We where in a different part of the hotel last year and the beds where fine but we had three rooms this time and all the beds where uncomfortable my 8 year old grandson said after the first night grandma the bed looked so comfortable but believe me they are not I have been up all night. Definitely need new mattresses

The location was perfect for our trip to Barry Island and was good value for money. The reception staff were lovely and so helpful. Beds were comfortable and room was cleaned everyday. The staff also made room for us at the bar putting tables together to allow us to sit all together without asking. Added extra was the pool table. We had a family room so was extra big with lots of space for us all the get ready.

The hotel is a little dated just needed a bit of TLC with some of the fixtures and fittings. The rooms didn’t have enough plugs there was only two plug sockets for the tv in the whole room could do with some next to beds and mirrors. The bar man did seem a little put out when we were getting more drinks and snacks at the bar, we was the only ones there so was like closing down for the evening.

On checking in was received with a very warm welcome by the receptionist Helen who was most charming and helpful. The hotel well situated to Cardiff International Airport walking only taking 17 minutes. The bedroom was very spacious with excellent facilities and a very comfortable bed. In the morning an excellent full welsh breakfast one of the best breakfast I have had. The lady in the restaurant was most charming. On check out I met the manager Jessica. a very professional lady with a happy and friendly disposition and greeted me at reception with a happy and smiling face. I have stayed many times over the years here at the Celtic International Hotel and the quality of its staff, decor and facilities is absolutely fantastic. Wherever you go in the hotel it is a bright and very welcoming accommodation, it has a wonderful staff base and the hotel is a very clean environment. I thoroughly recommend anyone considering staying here whether it is for 1 night or longer and visit the attractions close by or venturing into the city of Cardiff. Their is a bus stop outside the hotel bus no 304 from Cardiff or the 905 from Rhoose International railway station to the airport with Adventure Bus. Everyone staying here at this hotel will always be most welcome and have a very happy and relaxing stay as I have done. Their is absolutely nothing negative to add only one of praise.

We stayed here for a concert, much better value than the hotels were offering in the city centre. OK it's not perfect, it's not the Ritz, but owners are making an effort to keep it modern and fresh, the staff are absolutely lovely and made our stay a pleasure, the bedroom was large and comfortable, Quiet, we didn't have any issues with noise from other guests, a fan was provided for what was a hot day so nice touch. Nice bar area. Parking fine. Short drive to train station for trips to Cardiff. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order and absolutely first-class.

In an ideal world - could do with a fridge in the room and personally prefer a shower to bath with an overhead shower.

The staff, especially Jessica, were fantastically friendly, helpful, and engaged. They did all that was possible, and more than what might be expected of them to provide guests with a delightfully pleasant stay. From offering a personal wake up call and allowing me to prepay my breakfast for the following morning in order for me to leave without any delay or inconvenience, to pre-booking a taxi to take me to the airport the next morning the staff made sure that all of my needs and wants were met. Every member of staff who I encountered during my stay was pleasant, happy, and friendly. The friendliness, helpfulness, and personal attention given by Jessica and the rest of the staff are unmatched by any hotel stay in my experience.

There was absolutely nothing which I could say that I did not like regarding my stay. In all honesty, this hotel was not the newest of hotels. There was no fancy indoor pool or gym or sauna. The rooms were not extravagantly decorated or exceptionally large. But the rooms were clean and more than sufficient. The beds were comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and high pressure. The food in the restaurant was very good and the restaurant itself was comfortable and relaxed. And the hotel is located quite near the airport. The physical hotel was not among the very finest in the world yet it lacked in no way at all. And the staff made it the very best hotel stay that I have ever had.

I didn't know what to expect (I have high standards for lodging) since this is the only hotel very close to the airport. Celtic International exceeded my expectations. The lobby is clean and bright. My room was clean and the linens were sparkling white. Bed was comfy for a weary traveler. Celtic International knows the meaning of customer service. Jessica and Janet helped me tremendously when my flight was canceled for the following morning. They arranged a taxi for me at 4:00 AM and were concerned about me. Do not miss eating at the restaurant. It is clean and bright and inviting. I had lamb shank which was tender and juicy and by far the best lamb I had in Wales during my week vacation. The restaurant was understaffed, but the bar tender/waitress never got rattled and smiled the entire time while she was running between tables and the bar. I will certainly stay at Celtic International again when I am in Wales.

The bathroom needs a bit of attention, especially the bathtub.

On arrival, a lovely lady welcomed us , our room wasn't modern but we wasn't expecting this due to the age of the property and we aren't snobs and we was very happy with the room , the comfortable bed , how clean the room and hotel was. In the evening a gentleman who had a husky voice was a total geezer and a good laugh and could take a joke. Bar was lovely and even had a tiny games room with a pool table which was fun.

Can't fault anything to be honest apart from maybe having a socket by the bed but yet again how hard is it to get out of bed and put your phone on charge haha.

The food was out of this world amazing, local produce really does make a difference. The staff were fabulous, nothing was too much. So lovely, happy and very understanding of my son's needs (Autistic, difficulties with food and the staff were amazing, went out of their way to make sure he got what he needed, how he needed it) Excellent value for money, I'm gutted we won't be down this end of the country more so we can stay again

The room was lovely, spacious and comfortable. One of the single beds needs a new mattress as you can feel every spring Only having 2 plugs in the family room designed to sleep 4 was more than difficult as the TV and the kettle had to be unplugged if anything needed charging.

Staff were lovely and very helpful and friendly. It was bedlam for them as it was full to the brim of Welsh rugby supporters heading to Rome early the next day, but they managed to turn out fantastic food in the restaurant and keep on top of the drinks orders. The restaurant and bar area looks very modern, the rest of the hotel is like stepping back in time but in a good way. Very few hotels these days have a games room (pool and a few games machines). The rooms and bathrooms are quite retro but very clean, warm and as much tea/coffee/milk as you want for the room. Prices are very reasonable, hence it absolutely exceeded our expectations.

Couldn't fault it!

It was really close to the airport, the hotel even arranged transport for us. They also called the restaurant and had them stay open another 20 minutes or so which gave us time to put our bags in the room and order food. I really enjoyed the Cajun chicken burger. We'd stay again the next time we fly

We had 5am flight so needed some sleep, we didn't manage a lot even though the bed was incredibly comfortable because the fan in bathroom was constantly starting and stopping, which caused some noise but something was also making an electrical buzz sound and we couldn't figure out what it was
