Staff is very friendly. We arrived after midnight and they still have the night auditor waiting for our arrival although it took us a bit of time to locate the entrance and managed to go in. Breakfast is good with the lady who cooked it hot for us telling us some history of the neighbourhood.

Nothing in particular. We thought we forgot a package in our room after we left and tried to connect again with property but no response but eventually we found that the package was packed away in our luggage.

Fantastic value for money... friendly staff... comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with both shower and bath.. felt very homely with a double bed.. large wardrobe and dressing table and tea and coffee making facilities The fair way hotel is also a public house with a restaurant and function room.. The food here is delicious and recommend trying a meal here... Breakfast is freshly cooked and Shirley will certainly brighten your day as she takes your breakfast order..

Check In is little confusing upon arrival You have to check In at the bar... A little daunting when its full of guests Unfortunately our room door was sticking and could not close it properly... reported the issue and someone obviously tried to fix it as the mess was left on the floor when we returned.

Alan the owner and his team make you feel welcome and at home. We have stayed here twice now it's a great location to get the train to Livingston and Edinburgh . we had the family room the bathroom and room was very clean . we had meals in there restaurant both nights had burger and steak . the chefs and quality of the food are of a high standard which you would except in top restaurants. In city areas . The breakfast is lovely and very filling cooked by the lovely Shirley .. I will be staying here again through all the school holidays when we visit Scotland thanks for a lovely two days

We needed a good value, clean hotel for a short stay as we had to leave at 3am for our flight and this was perfect! Clean spacious room for the evening. They had a function going when we arrived at 9pm but it was just finishing which timed well as the noise level got quite after we settled into our room. Didn’t bother us at all and we liked it finished at a reasonable time and not midnight etc as we had an early start. The airport is less than 20 mins away and very valuable for us.

Not the hotels fault but we Wished we had little extra time to have breakfast but this visit was for our early flight so next time we will try it out.

F & B was excellent and reasonably priced. Staff were excellent despite the challenge Alan had losing a few of his staff to illness all at one time and having to train new members. Location was perfect for my business purposes there. My elderly Mother stayed at the hotel with me the last three nights. Alan's staff couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful to her. She went through an emotionally tough week so I really appreciated all of them and their wonderful treatment of her. Great staff! My heartfelt compliments on that score Alan!

The rooms were noisy at night and it seemed other guests were oblivious to other people trying to sleep. The closers on the fire doors through the upstairs corridor need to be adjusted but this issue is mostly a lack of guests' consideration for others so a tough problem to fix. They got slammed a lot late at night. Rooms are maybe a little small (some might say quaint) but certainly clean and equipped with the basics. Some lights didn't work and the tea and coffee station didn't always get topped up fully every day. A coffee creamer would have been appreciated as well for us coffee drinkers.

I loved the staff, super friendly and accommodating. Big carpark was a bonus and getting a drink in the bar after an all day drive was definitely a bonus. Room was absolutely spotless. Location was quiet with some green spaces to walk the dogs before we turned in and as there was only a single bed the room it had lots of space to move about. Luckily my two being obedient don't get on furniture so the pristine white bed linen and towels stayed that way. I would definitely recommend for a short stopover - with or without pets. Even the cleaning staff in the morning made a fuss of the mutts

It wasn't the hotel's problem, but someone in another room kept going in and out past my door at a fairly late hour which upset my dogs and caused them to bark once or twice. Once whoever it was settled so did they and we all got some sleep. It was a tad dated in the bathroom (lid of the loo seat was bent/broken and some black round the bath etc) not a problem for the price I paid. Had to go along the edge of the restaurant to get the dogs to the room so another route would have been a bonus, but we managed as my doggos are pretty well trained.

This hotel is perfect for who is visiting the attractions near EDI such as Linlithgow, Midhope Castle, South Quensferry and so on. Bathgate as a town, it’s a dive. The hotel is quite vintage, it’s like in the 90s BUT has ALL that you possibly need. Bathroom en-suite, kettle, tv, breakfast included and restaurant with reasonable prices. It is a bit old but compared to what I’ve payed (which is nothing) and the friendliness of the staff, I can certainly confirm it is worth. I am really impressed because the first opinion was like being in the past but the staff is incredibly nice and the meals are good. My room was a single room, small, but warm, never felt cold all night. I strongly recommend Fairy Hotel

The mattress was old and uncomfortable

Breakfast was astonishing. Came down to and didn´t find a lukewarm “breakfast buffet”. I found nothing :-) because the excellent chief of breakfast just made what I wanted. Regret not taking the advice to try haggis though… As a swede not being abroad that often I was surprised of the family-like atmospheric calmness. One of the staff members even showed me up to the room. Not going to happen in Sweden, I can tell you!

They need more rooms :-)

Last minute booking , stayed longer visiting at hospital, decided not to drive home (4 hours). Wanted something nearby, minimal driving, with parking. Easy to find using Google Maps, plenty parking spaces, easy to access when tired, all staff very friendly, I looked 'new' as I arrived and was approached outside and assisted to check in very quickly. Room all I needed, bath and shower. Friendly bar was a change for me, a nice break. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked. Staff had said night before breakfast was till 11, should have been 10, but they served me at 10.20. Nice change from soulless Travelodges . Glass in room for water at night, unusual nowadays. Mainly the friendly atmosphere, so important when you have had a long tiring day.

Toilet seat cover may have been broken, bin lid broken - minor.

Perfect location in the town centre, only £6.20 from here to the Vu wedding venue and the breakfast were included in the price which is much better than the premier inn. The room size was good and the bathroom was up to standard with a bath and over the bath shower. Pre-booked breakfast the night before due to going to the wedding and getting drunk. The only downfall for me was the breakfast we both ordered kids full English and asked for hard yoke but got runny and sausage wasn't the best quality but hungover me still had a bash at it.
