Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We had my wife's guide dog with us and I'm sure the staff must have been briefed given the way they responded. Room was clean and comfortable. The bed was particularly comfortable - best night's sleep on the whole weeklong trip. The restaurant, "Cook's Bar & Kitchen" was across the car park. Nice modern decor, excellent staff, and really good food - portions were a bit too big for us! Breakfast in the morning was in the hotel with good quality ingredients. Hotel is perfectly situated for anyone visiting The Kelpies; it's a short drive, but can be walked in 15 minutes. If you look on Google don't be put off by the aerial view showing some huge distribution depots either side of it - you would not know they're there. We're unlikely to be staying in the area again but would definitely choose this hotel if we were.

Nothing we didn't like really. I guess the only thing is a couple more disabled parking spaces near the entrance would be useful.

Room was lovely. It had been upgraded recently and everything was clean and it smelt new. The bathroom was particularly good. Nice towels and plenty of hot water. The following day when we got home I realised I had left my phone charger. Housekeeping had found it and some lovely, kind person posted it back to me. It is little touches like this that make all the difference. Would highly recommend this hotel. Plus, we could walk to the Kelpies and they were amazing.

Not much. Maybe a few more teabags and milks.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Kelpies which was the reason for the stopover. the room was a good size and comfortable and the staff very helpful and friendly. There was a good selection for breakfast and the cooked options were good as well. The breakfast service was fast friendly and efficient. The hotel has a stand alone restaurant next to it which does a good selection of tasty food. very welcome after a long drive.

If I was picky about things the water pressure in the shower could be better. Also the car charger has not been fixed by BP and that was one reason I booked this hotel. While at breakfast there is a supplement charge for the Salmon and eggs. I understand this is because of the cost on the ingredients. However there was too much and I couldn’t eat it all. I would have preferred half the amount and no surcharge. Smaller portions would also allow you to have a cereal or fruit from the buffet without wasting food. In general portion size is too big when eating out and in these days of spiralling costs a small option would be welcome.

Very clean comfortable room. Helpful staff and a superb breakfast. We came to see the Kelpies and the location was perfect.

We were in an annexe building and were concerned about the security of the external door. This was open to anyone during much of our stay. This meant that our security was just our bedroom door. Many hotels have 3 layers of security...i.e . Key access for guests to an outside door and often lifts and corridors outside bedrooms. The door was accessible to non-guests and actually left wide open much of the time. There did not appear to be anyone monitoring this. I don't consider low-level security to be good enough in a hotel of this status.

Room was spacious and generally well-appointed. Bed was very comfortable. Parking was very good / easy. Breakfast was very good. WiFi was good. View was pleasantly 'green'. Staff typically pleasant and courteous.

In the absence of air conditioning, a fan would have been appreciated, as my West-facing room became very warm by late-afternoon, and open windows do not aid the cooling process, unless the air can be encouraged to move. Also, open windows did encourage the M9 motorway noise to filter into the room - fortunately I'm not a light sleeper.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very spacious and well presented. the whole atmosphere of the hotel is warm and welcoming,it's very relaxing sitting in the bar and reception area. Considering it's location you don't really notice the traffic noise when in the hotel. The food and drink at the restuarant was excellent, very well presented and tasty, they obviously have a good chef there (the chef's sticky toffee pudding is a must try). Breakfast is a mix of continental and menu for cooked items, again good quality and table service. There is plenty of parking on site and no parking charges like some hotels now-a-days. There are also several landmarks and parks within 5-10mins walking distance if you fancy taking in the sites.

The only thing I would say is that the wifi seemed a bit patchy, although general speed was good. I kept loosing the connection on my laptop when doing some work, but it wasn't frequent. the signal strength was quite low so maybe just the room I was in. Not something to do better but a lot of hotels of this size will have a small gym room. I would gladly pay a little more to see this facility here.

We checked in late on September 7th and were greeted by a kind staff member also from NY. She made our stay nice and was very personable. I don't remember her name but she deserves a bonus for her helpfulness and kindness. We stayed in the honeymoon suite and loved our room with the fireplace. Thank you to the wonderful staff member.

We checked out and the older lady at the front desk was very rude and was very combative regarding discrepancies on our room bill. Not good to have someone so bitter at the front desk.

This has got to be the friendliest hotel I have ever been in. They are not just dog friendly, but dog mad. We were going through a very stressful situation with one dog in the vet hospital, and the other dog with us so we were very sensitive to the treatment of the dog. The fact they love dogs is evident from the point you walk in, but also, how they accommodated us in letting us eat in the bar with our dog, and brought her sausage as well made us relax and enjoy the excellent food. I cannot thank the staff enough for making our weekend so relaxing, just through being so kind. Add in excellent food what could have been a difficult weekend proved a very relaxing one, and that was due to how we were treated. Thank You all.

I had asked for twi beds and we got a double, and we are big people. We coped though, and given the rest of the stay I forgive them totally.
