The location was the most important bonus as a base for touring this part of north Wales. Although the hotel and restaurant were busy, the location in a small village at the head of a valley which provided a mealtime view, gave the impression of being deep in the countryside. The staff were always attentive and helpful, room servicing was exemplary and the food , including the breakfast was excellent.
Not knowing the hotel we booked rooms away from the bar end of the building , however the better views were on the other side of the hotel which we would book in future. This is not really a criticism as there were no real problems with our room from a noise point of view. the car park is small for the amount of business and was inaccessible at peak restaurant times, however its not really a great inconvenience to park in the village and walk a few hundred metres until the car park cleared later in the evening

Beautiful views, very clean, comfortable and well presented hotel. Very busy in the evening as popular with locals and its easy to work out why, the food is delicious and very generous portions. Staff were really helpful and friendly, and outside covered patio with heater was very cool area. Breakfast was a real bonus too absolutely brilliant as I'm a vegetarian and a vegetarian cooked breakfast was on the menu and thoroughly delicious. Big juice glasses was a bonus for my husband who always dreads the little ones hotels do and great coffee and breakfast service.
There are no lines in the carpark and as we arrived during peak meal time, the carpark was full but if people had have parked more consideratly there would have been several spaces. After a short 10 mins wait though someone left and we were able to park in the car park. The hotel had pre warned us about parking being busy after 4pm but we weren't able to arrive sooner unfortunately.

Cottage 2 was great but the staff and food were exceptional; we decided to have dinner both nights of our stay as it was that good. The breakfast was of the same quality as well. Every member of staff we came across were really friendly and efficient, something that made the stay more memorable. A special mention for Andrew who we had a laugh and a joke with about our cheeses-he, together with everyone else, is a credit to the place and couldn't have been more helpful/professional. We will definitely look to book again in the future. Excellent value for money with the breakfasts part of the cost
Only small gripe was the bathroom was very small to manoeuvre around in. Other than that though no, everything was great.

We stayed in a cottage which was great and just away from the main building. It was very quiet and very comfortable. Our biggest compliment we have and what stood out for us was the bar/Restaurant Manager (I'm sorry I didn't catch his name) was absolutely amazing. From the moment he showed us to our accommodation to the time he finished at the end of the night, he had a smile on his face the entire time. He didn't stop all night and nothing was too much trouble, when people turned up with no booking, he just smiled and calmly sorted everything out, nobody went away unhappy and everybody was accommodated in the most professional and friendly way. The way he run that restaurant was just a joy to watch. The breakfast was lovely and all the staff were so friendly. The food was stunning, the best Moules Mariniere I have ever had and a big potion. It was a shame the weather was so bad when we were there as the outside area looked fantastic and I can imagine in the sun it would be a very relaxing and restful place to sit and have food and a drink. Had a great nights sleep and would definitely stay there again.

The location is out of this world. The Grapes is a fantastic base for exploring the Snowdonia National Park All the staff are very friendly and professional. The food was exceptional and we were very sad to leave it all behind. My first ever visit to Wales and it did not disappoint. We will definitely return to the Grapes in the future and I highly recommend this hotel.
We only booked a week ! 😔

The staff were amazing! They acted with great care and compassion towards my mum who has early dementia - very patient and helpful. The food was absolutely incredible! You must try the vanilla ice cream/sundae - it's made locally so once in a lifetime opportunity, really! Parking was easy- ample space in the carpark. Lovely children's play equipment and also amazing patio and views. Port Merion is only about 15 minutes away.
Everything was great! Really no problems with the food or accomodation. Everything was super easy and relaxed while we were staying.

I am well travelled and have experienced many good customer service standards in my trips worldwide. I have to express that the Grapes restaurant staff attention to detail and patrons needs outshone some top establishments that I've frequented. Each member of the team that I encountered during my stay were very friendly and helpful, and made my stay very enjoyable. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure that I had everything I needed for the duration of my stay. The food was of excellent standards and exceeded my expectations in presentation, portion sizes and the quality of the produce used. Each and every meal didn't fail to be a delight to the eyes and taste buds.
There wasn't much I didn't like and I'm nit picking here, however, personally, I do not like the rooms too warm and the cottage style accommodation was warm. The temperature can only be controlled by the staff in the main building according to the welcome pack. My partner, on the other hand, enjoyed the heat, so an easy fix was just to open the bathroom sky light. If you do like it warm, you'll love it here.

A charming bar/restaurant with a lovely outlook. Highly recommend staying for dinner. Check-in was seamless, Parking was a definite bonus but might be difficult if it is very busy.
We stayed in the one bedroom cottage. It is VERY small so we knew there would be few facilities, however, we had hoped at least for a fridge, which they didn't have. Be aware that the only place for suitcases is the small sitting room which is actually upstairs. The bedroom is downstairs with no storage at all, apart from the bedside tables.

We loved the breakfasts, and the evening meals, though not included in the price, were tasty, a reasonable price and nutritious. The location was perfect for exploring Snowdonia which is what we wanted to do. The staff were friendly, attentive and good fun. Service was quick. We were in Cottage 1 which gave us great flexibility and was really nice and quiet.
The sofa bed was not comfy!!! The upstairs bed was lovely. The spiral staircase gave me cause for concern. If I had slipped and fallen, there was no grab handle nor hand rail to steady myself and I could easily have broken a hip. Neither the telly downstairs nor upstairs worked properly but we were assured that was probably to do with scaffolding on the roof. The manager said he had noted all this and would rectify problems.

Superb location. A stones throw from probably THE most beautiful area in the UK. Every member of staff at this very busy Inn are so helpful and friendly. The chef certainly doesn't do small portions so make sure you're hungry! The menu is simple and full of classic meals. There are GF and veggie meals too. The bar has an excellent range of beers, wines, spirits and enough gin to float an aircraft carrier! The road outside is very quiet and although our room was more or less over the dining room, we never heard a peep.
A couple of bits were missed by the housekeeper but by no means is this a dirty hotel. The car park is rather small and if you get back late, you'll have to park on the road which also has limited space. Guests do not have priority over parking.
