We had a really lovely stay at Ty Gwyn Hotel. The staff were very friendly and the bar and restaurant is really cosy and old fashioned, reflecting its history as an old coaching inn. The food is absolutely stunning - seems to be the best restaurant in Betws-y-Coed, and you will need to book dinners in advance if you are staying as it is very popular with locals and other visitors! Our room was very comfy and modern and seem to be recently refurbished. The hotel is on a road (it is an old coaching inn!), but there is little or no traffic overnight so it did not bother us. It's about a ten minute walk into Betws-y-Coed, which has lots of shops, cafes and restaurants, and a short drive from lots of attractions around Betws-y-Coed including Zip World which was great. It was good value for money too!

Truly exceptional. I couldn't have asked for more - possibly the best stay I've ever had at a hotel, definitely in the UK. I was running late due to a work meeting and called in to ask if they would be serving food when I arrived, they offered to wait. It appeared the owner had parked his car to 'secure' me parking when I arrived and he moved to let me in when I did. It was a really thoughtful gesture. The food was fantastic! I left pre-dawn for a run before breakfast and starting work, I took a wrong turn between the Glyder and Y-Garn and was worried I'd miss breakfast, I rang on my way back and they offered to wait again. I made it back in time - but the gesture was most appreciated!! The hotel itself is gorgeous and quaint, it felt like stepping back in time, but it was beautifully updated. The rooms really comfy and clean. The team behind it - absolutely wonderful, they couldn't have been kinder and more accommodating. At breakfast, I asked if they recycled the little glass jars the single-serve marmalade came in. If not, I asked if I could keep mine as I love using them for work lunches. When I checked out, I was given another 5 clean ones :) the lady who managed breakfast saved them all for her own jam making but gave some to me. Absolutely outstanding service all around - thank you so much!! I hope I can come back soon :)

We travelled up from London for the weekend and stayed 2 nights (Friday & Saturday) in the self catering 1 bedroom apartment. We ate in the bar/restaurant for dinner both nights, the menu is extensive and the food was 10/10. Throughout our stay Martin & his team were welcoming, always on hand and genuinely helpful with any requests. The location of Ty Gwyn was perfect for us as we did Snowdon on the Saturday morning (Llanberis 20-30 mins beautiful drive away). Our apartment was clean, comfy and cosy with a log burner in the lounge. Safe to say we'll be back, and we can highly recommend!

We stayed in room 9b which was great and provided some extra space when staying for a few nights. The room had all amenities needed and was clean and comfortable. All the staff are lovely and polite and work extremely hard. The restaurant is lovely we had a New Year’s Eve set menu and ordered from the menu on New Year’s Day, service and food were fab and all the ingredients were local and fresh. Great breakfasts included in room rates.

Limited parking spaces but we were able to park in the car park every day and when the car park is full there is plenty of on road parking directly outside and a couple of parking lay by’s within a few metres walk.

Lovely old coaching house, still lots of original features, you can almost imagine how it was in the 18th century. Room was lovely, bathroom was ultra modern, with wonderful shower. Breakfast was great, plenty of options, good food well cooked.

On our visit the dining room was closed, as it was being a small refurb, but we knew this in advance as the manager had rung and checked we were still happy to stay, which we were. But would have liked to taste the evening menu, so another trip might be in order.

Gorgeous period coaching Inn with original features. Room 1 was small but cozy with separate bathroom a few steps down the corridor. Staff were friendly with nothing too much trouble. Evening meal was delicious and fairly priced. Breakfast was plentiful with good choice of hot and/or cold. Great location to explore and venture out from. Will be staying again as soon as we can get up.

Separate bathroom is always a faff but not a big deal. Few patches of dust here and there when missed by cleaners. The worst thing was we only stayed for one night, could've done with a few more.

I liked the location. Couldn't park by the pub, but over the road, round the corner, there is a lay by to park in. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Olde worlde type pub. So many little bits to look out and pictures. Loved the huge walk in shower and bathroom . Tea and coffee and biscuits. And as for the food....amazing. Top notch, and a super breakfast.

The mattress was too soft...the hotel can't please everyone what mattress they put down. And the biggest thing...road noise. Hotel can't control that, either. But it kept us awake . Just take good ear plugs.

The food was out of this world, top quality & very good prices. We could not reccomend the restaurant highly enough The double rooms were on the smaller size but perfect for 2 nights away like we had. They were clean, newly refurbished & had good facilities (TV, en-suite in our room, shower with toileteries). We would definately stay here again if we were to go back to Snowdon

The road outside was very busy, much busier than we expected. There was still heavy traffic all through the night (including HGVs) due to local road closures making this the main route

Second stay at the Ty Gwyn. We love the hotel, it suits us to a tee. The 16th century building with all its glorious decor and character, its beautiful. Bed was comfortable, room was spacious and we enjoyed our sleep. Very clean!

This time we were not blessed to have an en suit, instead we had a private bathroom, with claw foot bathtub, which sounds wonderful but im not really a bath kind of guy as its too time consuming and would have really liked to have the choice. I found myself having the most awkward wash with the hand held shower head. Also we were asked to leave the bar area at 11:30 even though it states to leave by 12. We had the option to take our drinks to the room but would have liked to stay in the bar. Breakfast was okay, the food seemed supermarket bought and not what you would expect for the price of the stay. The restaurant menu is mainly focused on seafood and I felt like i had little choice other than this.
