Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were comfortable, clean and cosy. Location was ok lovely village but not many other pubs & restaurant nearby if you wanted to wander. However the evening meal was really lovely.

After the evening meal there were no seating available in the main bar area so had to sit outside. Fortunately it was good weather so not a major problem. I did find the breakfast a little disappointing I was expecting more choice. It would have been nice if they put on some croissants as an alternative to toast and better selection of fruit. However the coffee was amazing. I would be more than happy to book again.

Food was of very good quality. Dinner was large portions of home cooked food. Continental breakfast was also good. It is the staff and food that are the stars in the hotel. The staff make you feel so welcome and will do anything they can to make you feel at home there. The local residents also made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed the sing along on the Saturday night

The hotel would benefit from a makeover apart from the bar. However it was fully appreciated that this is a community run hotel so finances for that type of work may not be available at this time. The bedroom was clean and the bedding and towels were lovely. the view from the 3 bed room we had was beautiful

Major refurbishment since my last visit in 2022, both room fixtures & fittings and front of building very attractive. Staff very helpful - quickly sorted a problem I had with 'cold' shower. Much appreciated as I was staying for 4 days.

Remaining issue of breakfast. It would be nice to have option of cooked meal (as in 2022), especially when the weather is less kind. Fruit juice, cornflakes and toast isn't very inspiring. Only other thing, although I stayed for 4 nights, I did not have a single room clean, which seems unfair for 'long stay' guests.

Staff were very friendly, always ready to help and able to answer any questions or queries that were asked. The food was incredible and chose to eat there both nights, not over priced and had the option to sit in either the bar (lovley atmosphere) or the restaurant area.in addition to the I would highly recommend booking the king size room as it was very very comfortable.

The only downside was the pressure of the shower and the size of the shower head. It was good enough to do the job but not somewhere you would spend longer than you needed.

Absolutely loved my birthday weekend stay here. They provided top hospitality and catered to our large group. They provided all of the information before our stay and we booked a big table for dinner in the dining area which was delicious and large portions! There was evening entertainment from a local band and also a games room, equipped with a pool table and darts. The continental breakfast was lovely and the staff were extremely accommodating to the vegans in our group. Would definitely recommend to stay here - the rooms are lovely and it is a non-profit community. Definitely would stay here again!

nothing really!

Dinner was delicious, plentiful and very good value for money. The locals and staff were very pleasant and helpful. Most impressed by this community enterprise and wish them well for the future.

These are minor issues and realistically not that easy to solve.Room was very hot (something to do with the weather I believe) ,window had to be open to attempt coolness. Unfortunately other residents and locals were a little (or possibly a lot ) more lively than us and were fairly noisy in the garden area ,Can't say I blame them.

This is a community hotel and I think it's really important to support it. Apparently the community clubbed together to renovate the building, which is very historic. The location is great, right on the A470 to Betys Y Coed, and plenty of parking. You are 10 minutes from stunning scenery. Reasonable breakfast considering it's thrown in. Shower OK and toilet clean, and there is a bathroom next door (shared). Helpful and cheerful staff.

My bed was pretty small - I am six foot one and it was a bit cramped.

Plenty of choice for the Continental breakfast and very friendly, helpful ladies in the breakfast room. Location was good for visiting other places but Llan Ffestiniog itself is rather isolated unless you drive or are into walking. Great beer garden at the back. Basic but very clean. Shame they have no chef at the moment but helpful suggestions for other places to eat. Great community run pub/hotel.

Y Pengwern is a work in progress and, just now, lacks kerb appeal. However I understand this will be dealt with. Our room was small but adequate, just could have done with a shelf in the bathroom and another rail/hook to hang wet towels on. Would definitely stay again despite the 5am bird song outside our window. ;-)

It was a lovely little traditional style boutique hotel. I'm from America, so we don't get much of that style there. There were probably only 15 rooms, but lovely size. I believe we did the family room, as I often get a bigger room due to american sizes being much bigger than european. It ended up far bigger than an american double queen room, which was a nice surprise! Outside was a graveyard, but I thought that added to it's interesting style. And you could take a walk down past the hotel and it was neat and safe feeling alongside the cute little homes. It's a lovely location and quaint and cute, and the staff was friendly and the things they did seemed caring. I'd definitely stay there again. Thanks!

The exterior was under construction, which if I was with friends, that would have been embarrassing, but as-is, I thought it was a nice thing that they do such and must mean they keep the place up nicely.

The hotel staff were fantastic, super friendly and attentive. It's Community ran and we think they're doing a great job with a very old and dated building. There was plenty of top ups for tea and coffee in the room, and the whole hotel was spotless. There were stunning views from the beer garden!

My fiancé is 6'5" and he struggled to be comfy in the double bed as it had a footboard, but we were so happy at the hotel he didn't want to ask to swap rooms.
