The staff were friendly and really helpful. We had arrived early to drop off luggage before going on to a friend's birthday party - the hotel ensured we had somewhere to change and took our luggage to our room as soon as it was ready, so that when we returned from the party we only had to pick up our room key. Our room was charming - generously proportioned, comfortable and thoughtfully provisioned. The bathroom was excellent. The hotel is well located for the Lanes and Brighton seafront and within 15 minutes walk of the train station. Its public areas are stylish and welcoming. The outdoor courtyard and lounge bar area provided a great place for us to meet with friends and enjoy some excellent wine.

Our room overlooked the street and with the windows open on a hot night, inevitably there was some noise from late night revellers walking down the road. However this was a minor irritation that did not stop us getting a good night's sleep and it did not adversely affect our enjoyment of the hotel

The location is excellent for access to both the Lanes & the Seafront and all it has to offer. It is a lovely building and the bar area in particular is very pleasant & airy with good cocktails on offer. Dinner in the Bistro was excellent. The link up with the NCP Car Park was convenient and good value too.

Our room was on the 2nd floor & the stairs were very steep. We were surprised there was no lift especially when carrying heavy luggage up & down. Our en-suite bathroom was very modern & well appointed but the bedroom was slightly plain in comparison & could have been a bit more comfortable. The breakfast was not as good as the dinner.

The rooms were big but cosy and comfy with awesome bathrooms. The majority of staff were lovely, going above and beyond.

The security guard outside was quite rude on our arrival, we were walking into the hotel with cases and were asked multiple times for proof we would be staying in the hotel (not in a polite manner) before we had checked in. During our stay we ordered some drinks via room service, the bar brought a card reader to the room which did not have signal, we had to go down to pay and then were asked to pay again at the end of the stay, despite explaining this. We had paid almost 600 for two nights in the hotel, had paid several tabs during our stay but we're asked to bring up the payment via online banking app to prove a £20 bill was paid. For what is a fairly high end hotel these things take away from the experience. It's a shame as without these interactions the stay was great.

A lovely characterful property, just off the sea front by a small distance, so perfect location. Good Bar and Restaurant. Comfy bedrooms with great Shower. Helpful friendly staff, who problem solved well. On going to our room, it had issues of a Faulty Air-Con (on a very hot June weekend), a very damp smell and a Safe that we couldn’t operate. Due to smell, non-functioning Air-Con and Safe we asked to move and we’re immediately moved to a suitable room with Air-Con, no smell and a functioning Safe. Thank you

Nothing. (Beyond the first room having issues which we believe should have been picked up on Cleaning and Checking as ‘Ready’ before being issued to guests).

Absolute gem. We booked within 6 hours of check in, we were visiting at short notice and needed somewhere centrally located near parking. We were amazed by the price and to be honest, were expecting something that reflected a low price. I was very impressed with the quality of everything and slept perfectly well. I will certainly book here when visiting next time, even if the price is double the last minute bargain I had this time.

Nothing not to like. We skipped breakfast so cannot comment on that however if everything else is to go by I am also sure it would be excellent.

Location, decoration, style and comfort.

Check out staff were a bit annoying. we had a late check out. when we got back to the hotel we asked if our keys would work on the room door to which he said yes. I asked him to revalue ate the keys anyway to avoid going up and coming back down. He dragged his feet doing it. And then the keys didn’t work and we had to go back up and come back down again and then to go up with housekeeping. So we had to do what we wanted to avoid and we took the front desk and housekeeping away from their job. Just bad management.

We had a Classic Double and the size of the room and the bathroom was ideal. The bed was comfortable and the lighting made the room cosy. There was a lot of wardrobe space and the hairdryer provided was good and easy to use in front of a mirrow. Other than seagulls in the morning there was no noise from outside. The room was more than warm enough and the shower was a powerful rainfall one. Excellent location. Quick to check in and check out. We didn't use the hotel restaurant or bar so can't comment on those.

To get the shower to the right temperature you had to set the temperature before turning it on, trying to change it whilst it was on resulted in very cold or scalding water, we figured out the knack soon enough but others might not. The tiles in the shower area need a deep clean, quite a lot of mold. Internal noise through the door, the doors to the other rooms have a loud bang to them when they close.

Stayed at this Hotel for our Ruby wedding anniversary 40 years. The Hotel Staff were aware of this and where fantastic throughout our stay. We were given a couple of free drinks and a desert to share when we dined at the restaurant The food was excellent the bar was also great. The breakfast was outstanding I had the full English. Spot on

We were put in a room on the top floor. For someone with disability issues it would not have suited. Also, it was described as being a cozy double which is a play on words for being tiny. There was no wardrobe space. The wardrobe contained the room safe and a shelf for tea and coffee. You had to hang all your clothes on hooks on the outside of the wardrobe. The toiletries were very limited. No body lotions as an example or soap. The room was expensive 364 pounds a night is up there with the west end in London

Room was amazing, we booked the Gosset suite which was huge, lovely sea views and very comfortable bed and pillows also good value for money with breakfast included. Having stayed at this hotel several times in the past this is definitely one of the best rooms available. Very kindly the kitchen re-opened for us as we missed breakfast by 10am and croque monsieur's were sent to the room - thank you!

We should have stayed longer! Will definitely book this room again! Breakfast could stay open later than 10am!

Location, clean big room with a lovely big bathroom and L’Occitane products. The rain shower was also fab. Big comfy bed and lovely towels. Air conditioning. Staff were friendly.

Lots of stairs and we appeared to have the attic room up by the sea gulls. No view really and the windows could’ve done with a wash. Sadly the lovely rain shower was leaking to the bathroom floor, as the shower cubicle door seal needs repairing. Aircon whilst much needed, was noisy and rattly.
