A very pleasant stay. A comfortable room with tea and coffee facilities, a desk, wardrobe, a decent bed and best of all a bath in the bathroom perfect for after a day's walking. Staff were friendly, helpful and efficient throughout. The quality of food in the evening and at breakfast was very good and again the service was unfussy but very professional. I would certainly stay here again.

I was fortunate to sneak a parking space on arrival and didn't move my car thereafter. I suspect parking can be a challenge. I know it's the post Covid way to not service rooms and I hadn't asked to find out if mine would be. I don't want fresh towels and I don't even really need the bed made though it's appreciated when it is. But i would like my dirty mugs and spoons taken away, my bin emptying and biscuits and water replenished.

Breakfast was excellent

Promotes itself as dog friendly. Unfortunately our evening meal ruined by inconsiderate dog owners in the restaurant. Had to step over dogs in the walkways when carrying our drinks and we didn't enjoy our evening meal because a dog was allowed to bark non stop with a high pitched noise. Would be better if dogs only allowed in the small room we had breakfast in. . In the afternoon we had a drink outside and a Customer tripped over a dog just left to lay in the way of everybody.

The location is spectacular and within easy reach of Pendle Hill and plenty of well marked walking routes. Excellent beer on offer. Excellent breakfast and the shower was very nice.

Attention to servicing rooms was lacking and had to ask for soap, toilet roll, tea bags as were not replenished. The sink in our room was blocked! Evening meals a little disappointing and lacking in vegetarian options with only a pizza or veg burger to choose from. Even the main and side salads had no vegetarian option!

Beautiful pub in a lovely location. Perfect for us when we were walking up Pendle Hill. Room was stunning. A shame the fireplace was covered. It could of made the room look incredible as a feature. Ate in the restaurant and the food was great. I’m a chef myself and the only faults I had were, The sauce on the Supreme should of been in a Mini on the side and not on the dish, as Blue cheese is a strong flavour and over powers a dish. And the Sticky Toffee Pudding was a bit underwhelming, there needed to be more sauce. Was still pleasant though. Lovely staff. Amazing breakfast. Huge portion. I couldn’t eat all mine. Very lovely stay. Would definitely recommend.

I know this isn’t necessarily the pubs fault, but on the booking it states soundproof rooms. They definitely are not. from 9:30 till 11 the noise from downstairs was so loud we had to turn the tv up really loud to drown it out. It did seem to bring the feel of the establishment down a bit. But that’s the clientele and not the pub. If we did come back we would make it a weekday so we didn’t have to sleep through the busy pub noise again.

Lovely place to stay. Booked it last minute for a birthday treat. Cosy bar area, with log burner. Small and friendly. Only 6 rooms I think, just the type of place we like. Super friendly and helpful bar staff. Food really delicious. Everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked lovely. Would definitely return. Already planning next visit! I would imagine it gets really busy in summer tho, but a perfect winter break for us

Only negative was tiny car park. But we managed to get a space, so not a problem. People were parking on road outside, so parking is available

Lovely, comfortable room. In a beautiful location in a gorgeous little pub. Lovely bath for a post walk soak! We were originally put in room 2 and we were moved because of the kitchen noise. The staff are lovely here, really friendly.. Breakfast was absolutely amazing.

The hair dryer didn't work and only blew cold air. The room wasn't turned the next day so we had dirty cups. Paint was flaking from the wall in room 5. As it's above a pub, it's never going to be quiet but that can't be avoided.

Beautiful hotel! Very cosy, traditional pub style with a hint of modernness to it. The rooms were nice and clean, and well stocked with teas, coffee and soap. also perfect location for walking Pendle Hill! The breakfast was superb, we had a full English and vegetarian breakfast and both were spot on. Toast, jam, cereals and juices etc also included to help yourself to. All of this topped off by the very friendly staff! Honestly couldn’t fault the place - we’ll definitely be back.

Nothing!

Lovely little pub, our room was nicely decorated, very clean, the staff were very friendly especially the lovely gentleman who looked after us at breakfast , he was so friendly he made us feel very welcome nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing. The location in Barley is beautiful, its in a prime location lots of lovely walks , stunning scenery.

The parking was a bit hit and miss, it might be a good idea to remove some of the outside tables as they take up several parking spaces, its tricky parking on the road as its a small village parking is limited.

The food was excellent, especially the breakfasts where the chef was more than happy to tweak the menu - eg Full English but no sausages, poached eggs and mushrooms etc. Staff very helpful - eg with luggage

I found the pillows hard - but this is a personal comment and no reflection on standards. Boy was it a long way out! That was sort of good as well.

Warm welcome, convenient room with everything for a comfortable stay. It is in a very good location for a walk up Pendle hill. Guests have a designated snug for dining. Lovely log burner set at breakfast creates a traditional pub atmosphere. Lots of friendly guests and dogs! The food was very good and arrived promptly. Altogether fabulous service.

Pillows, I admit I am picky.
