Handy location to drive to, with a reasonable amount of free off road parking. It is about 25-30 mins walk into the centre of Cambridge with various good quality shops, bars and restaurants on the way (some 5 mins away near the railway station)... I ate at the excellent quality Oak Bistro (18 mins walk towards the town centre). The hotel has a Chinese restaurant which smelled great, and i was tempted, but I was only staying 1 night and didn't try it as I'd pre booked the Oak Bistro.

The hotel is clean and tidy but as you would expect for the price its rather tired and dated. A little noise at times, but overall I wasn't expecting much and it was actually much better than I expected!

Great location, easy walk to the train station and on a good bus route for where we needed to go. Room was clean but the beds were a little soft for our liking. No lift and our room was at the top of the house so we had to haul all our heavy luggage up a lot of stairs. We could not sleep with the window open as our room faced on to the main road and so was very noisy. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate. Staff were all very friendly. Would stay again.

Comfortable, spotlessly clean, very friendly, helpful staff. The bathroom was very small, but perfectly adequate and very clean and new looking. Free secure car parking (cameras everywhere) is worth a lot in Cambridge.

As mentioned in some of the other reviews, some of the decor is a bit dated. It is an old building, so perhaps to be expected, and the decor did not have a negative effect on our stay.

The hotel is well located. Bus stop just across the street to ride into central Cambridge. Many bars and shops within 1 block from the hotel. Triple room I had was clean and had plenty space. Very good shower ensuite. The hotel continental breakfast is good and well served - a good deal for 5 pounds per guest. Liked the good benefit vs. cost.

Spacious TPL room I stayed (#234) is at the top floor. And it is accessible by staircase only (no elevator available), not advised for elderly or disabled guests. There is parking space at the back of the property, not plenty of spaces but it is OK.

Just it fitted the bill for what I was doing. Down in Cambridge for a reunion down the road at the Earl of Derby, so location was brilliant. Staff were extremely helpful since I dumped my gear there early in the morning and came back mid afternoon to check in properly.

No complaints I was going to pay for and have the Continental Breakfast, but I wanted to dash away quickly before 8am so skipped it

The front of the house was really polite and friendly, and he made sure that my stay (despite short) was as comfortable as possible. The room was nice, comfortable and clean, especially the bathroom. Parking available in the back of the hotel is gold, as Cambridge parking situation is awful. Having a nice back garden allows you to have breakfast in the morning outside, which i think is a nice touch. Location wise is great with fast access to bus stops, shops and enjoyable walking distance from the town center. There are electric scooters for hire nearby if you eant to move fast around. And last but not least, great value for money! Will definitely come back.

The door has a gap that allows most of the sounds from the corridor and some of the nearby rooms to be heard from inside. Although the mattress was really comfortable, the frame was a little squeaky. The Hotel itself is a classic Victorian style building with all its pros and cons, it has to be expected unless completely renovated. However, no major issues really!

Location turned out to be better than expected with a bus stop to City Centre just outside the hotel and a very large entertainment complex with food stores and outlets just down the road. Breakfast was straightforward but very good value. Not perhaps up to those posh hotel buffets. But unbeatable price at only £5. A restaurant with very good and authentic Chinese food was an extremely pleasant surprise. Multinational staff and very helpful, polite, and friendly.

There is no elevator so if stairs are a problem for your access, either make sure you have a ground floor room or perhaps a hotel with an elevator might be better. The rooms are also small but not necessarily so small by UK standards for well valued hotels.

We usually don’t have a breakfast, but we had dinner there, the chef and all the staff are extremely kind and the kitchen is superb, you can enjoy really delicious food.

Everything is good. It’s not the first time we’ve stayed there and I admit that this time they surprised me with the new prices 😊but the attitude of the staff to the guests manages to compensate for this 😊

This is a typical homely hotel with all you need for a short stay. I had a single room similar to 1 I have stayed in before. The decor is of a past era but clean & the bed & bedding is really comfortable which is my main concern. It's location is good 10 minutes walk to the railway station, 30 minutes walk to the city centre & on a main road to the city centre so numerous buses go by

There was nothing I disliked but modernising the furniture & decor might be nice at some point

very welcoming staff. They let us to park a car before checking in and after checking out, so we could leave car and enjoy Cambridge a little longer.

Late check in and early check out. The shower was with mold and beds are a bit old. room looked a bit old and needs some refreshing. I think a bit overpriced for the location and how it looks but in general it was fine.
