Bathroom facilities were modern. Breakfast which we added on was good and quiet in the cafe - pastries were massive! Overall the property suited our needs as a base/somewhere to sleep.

We couldn’t work the higher fan in our room (not sure if this was the fault of us or the fan). The Dyson fan was noisy and didn’t seem effective and we found the room quite stuffy on our second night. We could also hear the person in the next room snoring, though the Dyson fan did cancel it out…! The shelf above the bathroom made it difficult to spit toothpaste at the desired angle without banging your head.

The room was nice and well decorated, with all essential facilities and towels. We were supposed to stay in a small room that looked on a busy road, so it was quite noisy. With closed windows it was OK, though. Then (due to a power cut that caused the emergency light in the room to go off) the owner moved us in a larger room. He's been very helpful and kind! You can have breakfast or a meal in the pub downstairs. From the pub you reach the city Centre in about 15 min, walking through the lovely Jesus Green.

Parking is not easy, but somebody from the staff explained us where to park in a nearby street (5 min walk) free of charge.

Such a beautiful place to stay. The rooms exceeded our expectations, were so beautifully decorated and welcoming. Beds were so comfy, everything was spotless, and the Guinness was fabulous. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting somewhere right in the heart of Cambridge. Special shoutout to the waitress at breakfast in the cafe next door, she was so friendly and we loved our breakfast!

The only teeny tiny thing we could possibly think of was to have a slightly bigger sink, but that’s being verrry picky! Only because it was tricky for brushing your teeth with the shelf above. Everything else was just perfect!

We really liked the atmosphere and the furniture design in our room. Also the pub itself downstairs looked very nice and the staff was friendly although the bar was busy at the moment we have checked in. Both check-in and out were very easy and fast. Although the rooms are directly above the pub, it wasn't noisy when we wanted to sleep as it closes around 11/12PM. We would've liked to eat in the comfortable looking café and restaurant but we were a bit in a hurry wheras we unfortunately couldn't stay longer. Walking distance to the city center was very good — the Waterman is located close to a nice park that you can cross to get to the city.

In the bathroom there were some pipes close to the toilet that heated up pretty much and we had to watch out to not burn ourselves. The sink was stylisch but not very handy because it's really small and you're not really able to wash your face properly.

The staff were welcoming, and all lovely and helpful. Our room was warm, clean and comfortable. The bar seemed popular and lively. The location is ideal for a short walk into town along the river, and close to lots of local amenities. We had an evening meal on the first night in the bar and the food was absolutely delicious.

It would have been more convenient to have breakfast at the hotel, but due to staffing issues the cafe was closed. However, it was only a short walk to places nearby. We didn’t have milk in our room to make a cup of tea but on the second night, one of the lovely staff fetched some for us. The decor in our room, particularly the carpet, was looking a bit sad and shabby but we were told they are planning to refurbish soon. The bathroom was nice and our only issue was the sink, which was minuscule and made it really difficult to brush teeth or fill the kettle!

Lovely friendly staff. Room was good if a little dark. Location good, easy 10 min walk to the centre. Great pub below. Lovely breakfast in the attached cafe.

The room we had could have done with a few more lights as the window was very small therefore no natural light. Also with that window, it could do with looking at for a bit of ventilation. We were unable to open it and the room felt a bit stuffy after a while and a slight musty smell was evident when first entering.

If you want to be close to the centre of Cambridge but not pay Central Cambridge prices this is the place to stay. Easy walking distance from the HOHO bus stop and about a twenty minute walk to the centre. Very close to the river and surrounded by other eating and drinking options. We had the Sunday roast sitting out in the very pleasant courtyard and it was excellent.

The room was a bit tired looking but it was very clean and all the facilities worked. The breakfast chef was unwell so we couldn't get breakfast.

Location is good, nice walk into town along the river, takes around 10-15 mins. Comfy bed, lovely shower and nice quality tea and coffee in our room. You can park outside the pub for a short time, at a fee, but we were then directed by the landlord of where we could park on residential road for free.

Pub location is on busy road, so some noise, however we did expect some noise as it is a pub, the pub did close at 11 so was fairly quiet after closing. We did have an emergency light in our room which shone on the bed all night and made it difficult to sleep.

Great pub that's styled beautifully and the hotel half is no different. Lovely rooms with everything you might need, plus super friendly staff. Top notch location, especially if you're going to The Portland Arms, which is just over the road. The walk into the centre of town is fairly short too and mostly through parks.

Honestly, it was a really great stay, but my only criticism would be the bathroom. The sink was so small that I couldn't wash my face without wetting the floor, plus there was a shelf above it, so we couldn't bend down to it either. Even filling mugs to fill the kettle was tricky as the taps are too big for the sink. The shower is also fairly modest and has a rain shower, which, again, is lovely, but very tricky to shower if you don't want to wet your hair. HOWEVER, none of that put us off and we would absolutely stay here again.

I really enjoyed the layout and the decor of the room. The staff was very kind and helpful and the bed was very comfortable and plushy. Sheets were clean! We had a kettle for tea and coffee in the room and two bottles of water too. There was a fan on the wall as well.

The carpets in the room are old and stained and kind of give the impression that the room is dirty even if it is clean. You could hear the live music downstairs from the room too. And there was no option of breakfast, since at the time of our stay they were short-staffed.
