The accommodation was spotless and well equipped with a lovely bathroom and excellent shower, although a fan would be a nice touch, since it was really hot inside (it was in the middle of the heatwave). We ate 2 times at the pub itself which was really good food. Within 3 minutes walking there is a bus stop to Cambridge (which was so much more convenient than a Park and Ride for us) and on the other side of the road there is a small Tesco shop in case you want a late snack. Would definitely come back here at the Red Lion, also because we haven’t tasted the homemade pizza’s yet 😉

We couldn't open our roof window (the battery of the remote was empty) so we had to leave our door and tiny window open to get some extra fresh air during the heatwave

The location was fabulous. Unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday afternoon just as you had finished serving lunches and as you didn't do food on a Sunday evening we had to go down the road to the Old Boot where we did have a very nice meal. The bed was comfortable and the bedding and towels were very clean. The room was quiet and we had a good nights sleep.

Our first impression of the room was marred by a very stained carpet (which I see several other visitors have commented on) and there was a musty smell, probably from the carpet. We bought a candle from the Tesco opposite to burn. We were staying on business but were unable to use our laptops because the WIFI was very poor or non existent (again pointed out by previous visitors)

The location (for me) is excellent. Bus stop for Cambridge City Centre right in front of the door. Also a Tesco mini supermarket. 4 pubs/restaurants almost adjacent as is a Post Office, Chemist, hairdresser etc as well as a fish and chip shop and other shops a short walk away. Room has everything you need and the Pub is fabulous with good food and drinks. Good value for the money (only 4 rooms so advance booking essential. Free parking.

Only little things like the soap dispensers in the shower a little awkward. When raining a lot of puddles - you also get wet!

really lovely room, super king bed, very comfortable mattress, really quite powerful and hot shower. lovely area with a nice beer garden. staff were really helpful and pleasant.

Wi-Fi didn’t work but really not an issue for us. there was a bit of an odd smell in the bathroom but the actual bedroom was fine. Really minor detail and likely very much a personal preference but only very very soft pillows available. difficult to get any neck support.

The rooms were a good size and it was nice that they are located in a separate building behind the pub (the other side of the beer garden). Very comfortable bed and more than adequate storage space for clothes and other personal belongings. Good shower. Very popular pub, with a number of real ales to choose from. Pleased that we had opted to stay in Histon, as there are plenty of options for eating, as well as in the Red Lion.. The Stir Cafe across the road serves amazing breakfasts! There is also a bus stop directly opposite the Red Lion, so easy to get into Cambridge without needing to use the car at all. Tesco Express also just across the road and a Co-op nearby.

The Red Lion do not offer any breakfast, but realised that when booking - plus, it wasn't a problem as the Cafe across the road was so good!

Comfortable bed in a quiet location despite being rather close to the pub which pours a very good pint.

Unfortunately we couldn’t get the cold water mixing with the hot in the shower (I believe it is a common issue in the UK with hard water). So despite having a wonderful large shower I was looking forward to using the water was either hot or super hot so I couldn’t use it.

The room was nice and clean, and it was very warm and comfortable. We initially had a small issue, but this was rectified immediately by very nice and proactive staff. Pub next door to the rooms is nice and cosy.

I didn't dislike anything, but it's just a fair bit away from the centre by foot. To get to the centre, you'll need to get a bus or taxi.

The accommodation was located behind the pub in a row of 4 cabins offering easy access to the pub and the village.

There was no breakfast included and when we arrived there, they were changing Chefs, so there was no food on offer. The carpet in the room was stained and dirty looking and could do with a good wash.

No breakfast at the Red Lion but found excellent breakfast at St Andrews cafe and The Smoke House nearby.

My room, the Tartan was very warm, clean and cosy but it needed bedside lamps, a light over the key-safe box outside the entrance, 2 large mugs for making a hot drink instead of the small cups provided and a hook on the wall just inside the main door to hang your key on. These 4 small improvements would make a big difference !!

Pleasant friendly pub hotel with accommodation separate to pub located through pub garden away from the pub and road To note pub serves several real ales and food looked good. However, I ate at a fine dining indian restaurant about 40 metres from the pub, on one of the regulars recommendation; it was excellent

Nothing, however to note could be limited parking on a busy day
