The property is in a great location, right in the centre of Canterbury but with the added bonus of a car park not being to far away. We stayed in suite 5 on one of the hottest weekends of the year and the owners had thought of everything, it was cool, we had fresh water in the fridge, it really made a difference. The room had lots of nice little touches and facilities. The hairdryer was amazing, usually you get a little travel one if you are luck enough to get one provided, the one here was better than my one at home!

Just AMAZING! Confortable, clean, well located, everything has great quality (toiletry, linen, towels), new furniture, best shower I can remember. There’s a small kitchen enough to have breakfast in the room (coffee, milk, tea and cookies available) and a convencional kitchen well equipped downstairs (we cooked some food for our dog). Oh, yes, is pet friendly! We just loved it!

This was a small, but well organized space. There was room for our sutcases under the bed, small fridge, and lovely modernized bathroom. The arrival drop off was tricky, because there wasn't a place to park in front while unloading, but the street was a convenient and an enjoyable walk to Canterbury Cathedral. We didn't have trouble finding parking at the lot down the street. We also attended Evensong at the Cathedral on Sunday evening and loved it! The BEST Italian food of our trip was discovered at Pinocchio's just a few doors down and across the street from Number 8. I would rate this an 8.6 mainly for the room size. The price was reasonable and room very clean.

Excellent location, very close to Canterbury's main attractions. We stayed 5 nights in the King suite on the second floor and used the hotel as base to visit Kent. Spacious room, with living room and "kitchenette" with a very useful microwave. If you need to cook something, there is a proper shared kitchen in the basement. Lovely decor, with exposed wooden beams. Loved the view over Canterbury's rooftops. Clean, big shower, comfortable pillows and bedding even if a little small. Great value for money. Staff is super-responsive, they arranged a crib for our little one and answered on the booking app very promptly to arrange for parking near the hotel at a little extra cost. Lockers on the ground floor allowed us to put the pram there instead of carrying it to the room each time.

Not a problem for us, but If you have any mobility issue, ask for a room on the ground floor. The toilette is bizarrely high. the shared kitchen could do with a little more equipment (cutlery, a sponge for the dishes).

Very clean, lovely decour, great location, accept dogs, good internet and great communication throughout

The location was ideal. It meant that we were able to visit everything we wanted to in Canterbury on foot. We were well positioned to visit restaurants & hostelries. The pre-booked parking was a bonus just down the road & gave peace of mind when returning from exploring further afield. Would certainly use Number 8 again should we revisit the area.

Just a minor thing. We nearly ran out of loo roll, but I admit we didn’t contact the owners to request it.

Lovely building decorated and finished to a high standard. The room and communal areas were very clean. The owners have pretty much thought of everything and supplied some very nice and thoughtful finishing touches/extras. Nice toiletries, coffee machine, fridge stocked with water and milk, tea and coffee and eco friendly plates, bowls and cutlery etc. Extra pillows to hand, plenty of electrical sockets, good TV service and easily controllable heating. Supplied a great information handbook about the building, facilities, Canterbury City, including eating out recommendations and also things to see and do outside of Canterbury in the surrounding areas. Overall, the accommodation with all the little extras was great, the location was just the right distance from the Centre. The owners have gone to great efforts provide a comfortable and want-for-nothing stay. I would definitely recommend this property.

There is nothing to dislike. Our room (2) was not large but definitely not cramped - not much hanging space, but sufficient for our needs. There was a slight damp/drain smell in the bathroom. Due to the age and architecture of the building, there was some noise from the room above - creaking floors and a few thumps etc but not enough to cause disturbance.

A well-equipped, spotless room in an excellent location. We didn't receive a message with the door codes to access the property but when we sent an email we received a prompt and helpful response. Although there are no staff on site, the room had everything we needed and the book with guidance and instructions was clear and helpful.

Although it's possible to adjust the thermostat, the change only lasts for a couple of hours. We like the room cool so we needed to remember to keep turning the temperature down again.

Right in the town and feel very safe. It looks like everything is new. The furniture is modern. Smart TV is good as I could binge watch Netflix! The bedroom is at the back so very quiet. Very comfortable stay. Train and bus stations just around the corner.

Could do with a bigger rubbish bin. Some noise from the next door neighbour but overall it is a very good choice if you’d staying in Canterbury.

The location was excellent with really affordable parking only a few steps away. Easy in and out with the codes made life easy. Access was good. The suite was brilliantly equipped and very comfortable. Everything really well thought through. Will certainly stay again and look to stay multiple nights 👍

If I was being hyper critical I would only say the toilet was very high in room 6 so could be a problem for very short people
