Very ornate little BnB - we arrived a little late and the owner clearly talked us through how to get our keys, the front door and rooms and a sophisticate key fob system which was easy to use and hassle free. the bed was comfy and room a good size with a bathroom / shower. There was a large modern tv facing the bed which was a nice touch when getting ready and in the morning. We had pre arranged a breakfast time and were welcomed with a fresh pot of coffee and a hearty full English breakfast. Check out was 11 which gave plenty of time to have a relaxing morning after breakfast. The location was spot on, a 5 min walk from the centre of Canterbury - we were able to have a nice evening in the town centre then fall straight into bed. overall was impressed with the value for money, location, comfy rooms and friendly service :)

Perfect location very close to the city centre. Recommend to choose for a Full English Breakfast: Very jummy!!!. Large one suggested for a good walk through the city centre. We liked the way everything was organized : the access codes to your room : ..... the boxes :Loved it! Came in late evening in the first week of October.....Halloween decorations made the place even nicer. Owner's are very kind and helpful. Especially with our Covid test kits which we needed to send upfront. We had a room downstairs which was quite small but good for us for a nice weekend .The room is charming, don't take any large suitcases as it will be a challenge to store them somewhere during your stay. We loved the bathroom. All was clean and tidy. Good towels. Would like to come back Recommended for a long weekend.

A bit more space for your luggage would be more comfy.

It was very relaxing and cozy. The outside garden meant that most evenings me and my sister and parents played card games out on the tables and chilled out before bed. Breakfast had a lot of good condiment options and cooked breakfast was also really good. Our room was also really close to the back so we could just go in and out of our room easily (me and sis). The room itself (twin room) was great.

Just my kettle in my room was a bit old, think it needs replacing! 😂 Also because we stayed for a whole week we were starting to run out of loo roll, so more frequent checks would have been beneficial

The hotel was only a 7 minute walk to Canterbury town centre but was on a quiet calm little street. The room size was great and it was lovely and warm with a spare blanket. There was a kettle and a coffee pot to make teas and coffees as well as a little fridge if we had anything we wanted to keep in there. The bed was super comfy and shower was lovely. Self check in and out was particularly handy and very secure and safe.

We did not have breakfast as I am gluten and dairy free and upon booking it didn't appear as though these two requirements could be catered for together. However the food did look lovely and I'd be happy to eat there if I didn't have intolerances! The hotel also says that there is street parking between certain specified hours however the max stay is only 2 hours so unfortunately we had to pay for a car park nearby costing us over 30 quid for just a day and a bit.

Instructions for check-in were clear and easy to understand. The room was small but clean and cosy. Beds were firm and comfortable, although I would have preferred an extra pillow. Lots of tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the room; and the fridge was a nice touch for our cold drinks and snacks. The cooked breakfast was delicious and not too big of a serving, and there was plenty of cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee to choose from. Any questions I had were answered quickly via message. The lovely manager/owner even came from home to make an iron and ironing board available for when we got back from having our evening meal. It's a short walk from the train station, which was great after a 4 hour jouney from Manchester. It is in a perfect location for exploring the centre of Canterbury - which is in walking distance - and is a 10 minute cab ride from the university campus where my son had an interview. I would definitely recommend for a short stay.

Black Horse Inn is a pub converted to a cozy accommodation. The room was comfortable although a bit less spacious but had a cozy feel along with a garden area attached to sip on Coffee while enjoying clouds go by. We stayed for only one night but it was very comfortable. The auto check-in and check-out system is at par and excellently explained. The morning breakfast was a delight and the hosts were very amicable and warm people. The location is also very central with all ameneties in walking radius of 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend Black Horse Inn.

Staff: I had managed to make a mistake in my book (all my own fault!) - I had booked for 2023 and not 2022! The manageress at the Black Horse couldn't have been more helpful in contacting Booking.com and helping me correct my mistake - I was amased at how hassle-free she made the process. Room: My room was a twin (arranged toe-to-toe) in the attic and would probably not suit tall people, or given the narrow stairs those with restricted movement. The bathroom was compact but included everything one would need and toiletries were provided. Breakfast: Full English or Continental breakfasts were available, with the option to eat out in the garden. Location: The Black Horse is located in a quiet side street ~5 mins walk from Canterbury West station and the old gates to the city. Parking is not available at the Black Horse, but the manageress was able to show me where I could park my car for free all weekend only a short walk away.

My only very slight reservation was the lack of secure parking. However as noted above the manageress of the Black Horse was able to show me where I could leave my car for the weekend for free.

loved the location the staff were lovely so friendly and felt safe staying here fab breakfast and very tasty

- the sensory light in the room was triggered by the slightest movement so woke me up a few times - felt a little claustrophobic until I checked the lock on the door was ok and I could open from inside - be good to have a spare phone charger as had to ask a fellow guest to email to ask to borrow a plug as my battery had died so I couldn’t message or ring to ask - maybe have a landline phone in reception for easy accessibility
