We've stayed here a few times but this is the first since some of the changes/renovations. An improved, even more relaxing lounge area, an exquisite dining pavilion with stunning views but losing none of its boutique charm. But the best by far for us was the new menu. We've eaten in many of the finest restaurants but that was the best 3 course dinner we've had in years. The presentation, the mix of flavours, served by the affable, relaxed but attentive and efficient staff. On top of that, the room was well-appointed with an extremely comfortable bed and a delicious waitress-served breakfast topped off a very enjoyable experience. We have never been in the summer but certainly will be this year!

We had to.leave!

My husband and I recently spent a few days and was absolutely blown away by the experience from start to finish. We were greeted at reception and were given an upgrade to ground floor room with all facilities due to our mobility issues and struggles with the stairs. ALL staff were professional, extremely helpful, not question was too large or small, friendly without being overbearing, even when busy they were able to give us their time. Our room was very comfortable and kept clean and tidy throughout our stay. The restaurant and terrace were very comfortable and we were well looked after at all times. The food was amazing. I cannot praise our stay too much, everything was perfect, including a lovely send off from the owner. We will definitely return.

We booked last minute when my partner took me to Whitstable for my birthday. We were welcomed most warmly by the owner, who gave us alovely reception. Our room was upgraded and after an off-hand comment that we had missed lunch, biscuits were brought to the room! The view from the garden (and from the window in our room) was magnificent. The hotel is up on the hill above the town and looks out right across the bay. The skies were dramatic that day - truly Turner-esque. You could have imagined him painting from that very spot. If you are visiting Whitstable by car or bicycle - and have a means of transportation - I would recommend the hotel most thoroughly.

The staff were all very welcoming, we booked very very last minute after an unsuccessful stay at another property. We were warmly greeted by the Manager on arrival at approximately 7pm on a Sunday, offered an evening meal which my husband ate in the room as our child was unwell and the food was delicious. The room was clean, had the most beautiful views through the multi aspect windows and was just what we needed after a hectic few hours. I also ordered a camomile tea and it arrived in a lovely tea pot with cup. The little separate bedroom area was lovely. Breakfast the next morning was delicious with multiple options and again all the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Just a small niggle, the bathroom was a little on the tight side for a family especially the sink which was particularly small. My husband also ate his meal on a small dressing console table which wasn’t ideal. However that said in normal circumstances we would have eaten in the restaurant.

Beautiful location, the hotel is a fantastic hidden gem! The room was spacious and impeccably clean and the sea views from the restaurant and the room were stunning. Every single member of staff was incredibly welcoming and although we would like to mention everybody, Emily at reception and Claudio were just exceptional, so helpful and friendly we were made to feel right at home straightaway. Nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was absolutely top notch! We simply couldn’t have asked for anything more.

It was a charming building in a wonderful location if you want peaceful and a nice view which is exactly what we were looking for; it was easy to find despite its well off the main road location and it looked exactly as pictured on your site so no unwelcome surprises 😃 there was plenty enough on site free parking which was also on our tick list and the added bonus was David and the lovely staff team including a superb dining experience - we would definitely recommend this hotel.

There was nothing we didn’t like it had a lovely quirkiness to it and we felt like we discovered a rather hidden gem

The young staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The dining room opens out on to the terrace, which gave us a beautiful view of the estuary and a spectacular sunset. The grounds were spacious with a large grass area - this was great for the children we saw thoroughly enjoying themselves without disturbing the more elderly residents. The hotel was very easy to find and, although conveniently only a few minutes from the main road, once there you felt totally secluded.

The staff went above and beyond and we had an amazing time. Went to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday and couldnt be happier. The restaurant catered for lactose intolerance and a vegetarian (given you're by the coast, this is very very commendable). Rooms were amazing and the beds were incredibly spacious and comfortable. Again, cannot praise the staff enough for their manner and how they made my partner and I feel. Could not think of a place we would rather have celebrated.

There was not anything we disliked, the only comment for feedback and coaching would be to make sure that all the staff, when about to have a meal, ask for allergens prior to serving. As a guest I always try to make sure but just in case there was any chance a guest had an oversight, the staff would have already identified the table for allergens.

Lovely boutique hotel with fantastic views. Sarah and her staff were amazing and could not do enough for you. Good food. Our bedroom was at the front of the hotel and was very peaceful, even with a wedding party one night and sixteenth party on the second night.

car park is small but there is an overflow car park next to property. But as there were functions on both nights of our stay, it proved difficult to find a space on the second night. But we managed in the end.

Stayed here many times and the staff have always been great. I preferred the old style hotel before they turned it into the palm pavilion it just looked more classy before.

Dogs were allowed in the dining/breakfast area. One man had his dog sitting on a chair next to him feeding the dog his breakfast thought that disgusting! Also my husband asked for a bacon sandwich for breakfast and looking at the bill was charged £14.50 for it which was a little steep. I think should be itemised and priced separately.
