The location met our needs to be near family in Maidenhead ( they suggested this property); we gathered in the Pub below for drinks on our arrival. Breakfast was very good. It was good to have a portable fan to use given the heat experienced during our stay. My husband enjoyed the complimentary whiskey as a nightcap!

Toilet was separate from shower and main sink. Although there was a small sink in toilet area, but there was no place to hang a hand towel. Limited spots to plug in a hair dryer with access to a mirror...I realize this is a very old building ( short doors...mind your head!) ... took it all as part of the "charm".

The food was absolutely delicious, well presented with flair and imagination and good quality ingredients and all the staff were superb and couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant, well spoken, smart and polite. The hotel was in an ideal location and very quaint but well appointed. We were able to park directly in front of the hotel.

I wasn’t happy with a blood stained mattress protector though must say the staff dealt with it very quickly and efficiently and were very apologetic. I used the socket behind the bed and the skirting was FILTHY, I got muck on my hand 😩. The taps in the bathroom wouldn’t turn the water off completely which is a waste of water and power and although it flushed, the toilet handle needed repair. There were also a lot of cobwebs on walls, yes I know it’s spider season!

A wonderful weekend away, due to the fab staff at this property. Bedrooms are very spacious and comfy… lovely touches, chocolates, bottled water and Bramley toiletries. Exceptionally clean.. Breakfast bountiful and laid out beautifully. We had cocktails and dinner the first evening… great buzzy atmosphere in pub and restaurant… delicious food and enough choice. I wholeheartedly recommend and I will finish with a statement from my friend ‘ this is just as great as when I stayed last year’. Shout out to Charlotte, she’s fabulous.

Small issue, a bit noisy ( you are above a pub/restaurant), but by 11, it’s quiet. Didn’t bother us, as good to hear people having a great time..

The Hotel was lovely, the staff moved our room to the one we saw online as it was available. There was a whiskey and a Gin for us to try as well and very nice tea and coffee in the room. Also the shower gels and hand wash/cream were nice.

The food was amazing very nice and one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. The only draw back for me was the à la carte menu I’m a lover of pub foods and the cost for what you get although very nice I’d like more of a traditional pub food and price.

The location was so lovely, beautiful pub, comfy bed, lovely shower and amazing breakfast, slept really well as was so peaceful at night, even with the windows open.

We were at the front near the door in William so had a lot of banging from the front door when people arrived and left.No problems at night though. There was shower gel, shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower but all were empty. No floor towel for shower. Needed a bin in bedroom as we had to use the one in the bathroom or toilet to put tea/coffee bags in. Would be better to have a choice of full fat milk/semi skimmed as I can’t drink full fat,but the staff were lovely and gave me some from the kitchen.

Our room was beautiful and cosy. It had many original features of a 600yr old hotel. Such as sliding leaded window. Old door and sloping floor. The bathroom was lovely too and a huge shower with a powerful rain attachment. Big fluffy towels. Shampoo & conditioner provided. The bed was very comfortable with real feather & down pillows & quilt. There was also a shelf full of books to read. A nice painting of flowers on the wall. Nice touches like a free tot of sloe gin in the hallway. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was well cooked and delicious. A late check out was much appreciated. 12 noon.

Nothing could or needs to be improved and I can't wait to go back.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, room very comfortable. Breakfast Good. Fresh clean towels every day we stayed which was most welcome. Chance to have a nice glass of Whisky each evening excellent perk. Great idea keep up the good work.

All good, only comment I would have liked a full length mirror in the room, and the TV was basic freeview, no streaming services included such as Netflix etc. Would have liked that.

The situation was very good in the centre of Cookham. The food was excellent and different and the breakfasts were wonderful. The staff were attentive and efficient. The inn was unusual and the room quirky.

Parking could be a problem. We were very lucky to find a spot. No parking on site. The room we were in was very cramped for space. The bed was comfortable but took up most of the room. WE were in the older part and the there was a danger of concussion from the low doorways and sloping ceiling.
