Friendly check in, room was across the car park in an annexe building. No views from the window. Comfy room with tea/coffee etc. Nice shower and some toiletry products/soap. Evening meal was nice, although not great. Food was tasty, but lacking detail/finesse. Service was excellent! Nice breakfast, lots of choice. Had to order tea & coffee from waiting staff. This could have been better. Lovely garden area and local walks which will investigate further on next visit.

The staff at breakfast were difficult to get the attention of. It would have been nice to have been seated at a vacant table, and hot drinks orders taken immediately. However, we had to hunt for a free table for 2 and take cutlery from another larger table, and wait 10 mins to get staff attention to order drinks. But breakfast was nice, enjoyed the poached eggs! Despite this, we will stay again!

Lovely old building with bags of charm. Staff were all very attentive. I paid to upgrade to luxury room and it was a lovely size room with garden view and roll top bath. Buffet breakfast was excellent.

The room was billed as luxury, but there were definitely some elements that were not luxury. The mattress was the wrong size and too small for the bed frame which meant that a large amount of the frame was visible, you kept knocking your shin against the frame (because you are used to the mattress being the edge of the bed) and you had to climb over frame to get out of bed. Tea & coffee facilities very basic with UHT milk and no refrigeration. Painted wooden floors looked cool, but some nice floor coverings would have softened the room in look, feel & sound. No toilet brush!!!

The staff was amazing. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. For example, we needed to leave our luggage at the hotel before and after checkin/checkout and they accommodated with no problem. They offered our daughters hot chocolate the moment they entered the breakfast room. They helped us get a taxi during a super busy weekend. They had delicious food for dinner and breakfast. The room was delightful. We loved everything about this hotel!

My only note is that I wish the hotel offered a shuttle from the hotel to the Henley Royal Regatta and back. We had a hard time finding transportation between the two and if the hotel offered a shuttle for a fee, we would have jumped on it!

Lovely location/setting, and the restaurant, breakfast room, bar area superb. Room was a good size. An extremely helpful lady managing the breakfast in the mornings - very friendly and went out of her way to ensure we have what we needed.

Housekeeping seemed to skip our room, even though we did ask at reception who confirmed the room would be serviced - also the outside tables and chairs in the little garden area outside our room were quite dirty and we had to ask for those to be cleaned, and event then only partially done - it was a pity as it detracted a little from what was otherwise an experience. Despite that we will be back.

The location was superb, the coaching inn was lovely, as was the room. Very clean and comfortable. The staff were nice and polite although we did not eat anything other than breakfast, the food was nice abd well cooked.

The only thing that let our stay down was on our first morning, the breakfast, hot food, was buffet style. No issue with that but everything was cold. Only had a burner working under one of the containers, such a shame as the food was lovely. The following morning, due to lower numbers, breakfast was cooked to order and that was a huge improvement.

The food for both breakfast and dinner was very good. A good choice and the quality was better than expected. Location is spot on. Nice and quiet. Good garden seating area. Breakfast staff spot on.

Rooms a bit tired but acceptable. Cheap and nasty toilet rolls. The bar staff and bar service left a lot to be desired, slow and not good attitude as front of house. Young staff in the restaurant with limited experience and training. Needs a headbwaiter/supervisor to upskill these guys. Not their fault. Room for improvement.

A refreshing change from the usual hotel experience The Olde Bell was without doubt a 5 star/ First class experience. As the trip involved our dog ( a guide dog puppy in training) we were all catered for magnificently. The staff were extremely helpful, courteous And very efficient.the food was very good and delivered very promptly. For the location and facilities provided we think it was extremely good value for money( striking distance of London and Easter bank holiday weekend. We would have no hesitation in booking this hotel again.

Having to leave such a fantastic place.

full of character, great location. comfy bed, spacious room ( we had bridal suite). good breakfast and reasonable evening meal.

room 1 and 5 were both noisy- extractor fan from the kitchen. water, tea and coffee wasn’t replenished overnight. a bit mean with the soap and shower gel considering there were 2 of us in the room! used my bathrobe on first night and left it out to use again- it disappeared!! didn’t want to use the second one just for one night. no info in the room re Wi-Fi code, phone number for reception, breakfast times etc.

It has an old world charm and the staff are delightful. The main building has a rich history dating back to the 12th century and the bar and restaurant have a cosy period feel. There's a large car park with free parking, We stayed in a quite modern comfortable minimalist room in one of the accommodation outbuildings (the Old Tithebarn) that surround the car park, litrerally across the road from the Olde Bell. The evening meal was great and you can eat in the bar or restaurant and the breakfast was all you could want. It was winter time so we were not able to enjoy the large garden area. And the village of Hurley in which the Olde Bell is situated is very picturesque. There is also an easily managed flat walk from the Olde Bell to the nearby church and beyond it to Hurley Locks and a riverside walk. It's a place we'd definitely consider returning to.

We found nothing to dislike. One suggestion, however, given the Olde Bell's rich history, is that in each of the rooms and maybe in some of the public places there could be some interpretative plaques telling the story of the place and its various buildings and visitors.
