The Croft Hotel, BW Signature Collection

From the moment we arrived, we were made welcome, the staff were very friendly and helpful, Sophie and Laura on reception were a stars, as were the rest of the staff Callum, Callum, Harry, Bobbi and another lovely lady who's name I have sadly forgotten and Maria. Food was very good, It was a hotel full of warmth, an old coaching inn, tastefully decorated, dog friendly, Rooms were comfortable, very good shower, Also, one of the best wedding venues I have ever been to. As two of our friends got married on New Year's Eve at the hotel, Excellent event, the staff and facilities were brilliant, no complaints what so ever.

If I had a complaint, which I don't really, is that we were in a room furthest away from anywhere in the hotel, although, to be honest, reception, did offer someone to take our bags. they were always helpful.

The house keeping staff were very helpful and cheery. They kept the rooms clean. I was very happy with the room allocated but was advised that as new owners have taken over the hotel, the rooms are being revamped. There was a great choice at breakfast time that would cater for all tastes. The evening meal though was a bit of a hit or miss. You can’t go wrong with scampi, but three of our group had to send the burgers back as they hadn’t been cooked fully. Overall we had a nice time.

The revamped rooms will be a bonus. However , I think on a whole the evening meal menu should be revised and more choices for vegetarians.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall my one night stay was good value when compared to other local hotels. Evening meal was very good and good value. Cooked breakfast was nice but took almost 30 minutes to arrive and my wife and I were the only people there at the time.

I understand the building is old but the ensuite in my room had rusty fittings, broken floor tiles and mildew in the shower. Had a twin room and found the mattress a little uncomfortable and the duvet seemed lost in the oversized duvet cover

Room (upgrade) was very comfortable and spacious, ideal for our 3 night stay. Bar/lounge area was very cosy and inviting. Breakfast options were very good, plentiful and tasty. Cooked breakfast was excellent with very good quality ingredients. Staff throughout our stay were welcoming, friendly and very helpful.

Just an observation with the cooked breakfast;- Mushroom on plate was cold whilst all other items were nice and hot. Is this deliberate?

We booked this at the last minute (30 mins ahead of arriving) and it was delightful and perfect for our needs - comfortable, warm room (there was an additional, plug in heater in our room, which was perfect) and helpful, friendly staff. We had dinner in the restaurant (which was closing at 8pm - a bit earlier than it says on the website) which was very nice. We really enjoyed our safe and it was brilliant for a late find and very good value :-)

Everything....the Hotel is beautiful. Location, setting, the interior, the room was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower was great. Staff very friendly and even dog friendly as I did see a number of doggies wandering about with their owners. I didnt eat in the hotel so cannot comment on that aspect. Plenty of free parking too. Fabulous value for money! I will be back, cant recommend this hotel enough.

The Malbec wine in the bar was not my favourite but that was purely down to taste.

breakfast was very pleasant and the food was excellent The shower , bathroom was excellent

We got held up in the car park by a delivery van for 30 minutes , It would have been helpful to know that there might have been a delay because of where we parked. In the room the blind was broken and could not be left open on a very warm night.

Needed a room overnight for a local appointment. This hotel ticked all the boxes. spacious double room, nicely decorated and fitted out. Good parking. Really friendly and helpful staff.

One of our party is gluten and dairy free. So we tend to self cater as just too problematic deciphering menus otherwise. Seemed a nice choice here for dinner and breakfast. Can I suggest take the lead from others and annotate menus to show gf and vegan options - that way may have been tempted.

The staff were very competent and happy doing there jobs. It was like they had been properly trained in an academy or similar but the receptionist said the hotel was independent with its own internal training. Food was good although we could not get lunch when we visited to pay some money the day before which was a shame as we had to go to Blackwell Grange for lunch. However, this was not to do with our stay.

The WI FI was a bit difficult to understand. Although we eventually found the applicable service and put the password in, we then had to log into your site as well for some reason to get the service. Usually at venues the password given takes you straight into the service. Other than this minor issue it was well organised for our 40 th birthday event and service was first class, thank you and everyone for their efforts.

Room was fabulous and spacious, shower/bathroom was excellent. Staff were helpful and polite and a credit to the hotel next time in the area, I will stay here again, brilliant, lovely hotel...........Breakfast was delicious

Unfortunately the gym only had four pieces of equipment, the Multi-Gym cable wheel was broken, unfortunately I was unable to use it, I did try and fix it but didn't have my tools in my car. The cross-trainer also didn't switch on, so pedalled away for 10mins or so with no idea on distance, calories etc. Treadmill and exercise bike were fine but no free weights or floor mats for floor work
