The room was delightful and quirky. As well as an on suite shower room there was a bath in the bedroom! The complimentary toiletries were of high quality and as well as a coffee maker and all the hot drink ingredients there was water and orange juice in the fridge and curley wurleys and sweets. The restaurant food was exceptional and staying for 4 nights we really enjoyed trying many of the different dishes. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the presence of the owners around the premises gave a real feeling that they truly wanted their guests to have the best experience possible. The continental breakfast we has due to an early start one day was amazing delivered the previous night in a huge picnic hamper but with ice packs to keep the milk and juice cold. The restaurant breakfast selection included a Yorkshire breakfast and the most delicious natural smoked haddock with poached eggs with some of the deepest orange yolks I have ever seen and my grandparents kept chickens so I know a good fresh egg well!

Fabulous start to our holiday, breaking the journey here. Warm welcome on arrival to a very busy pub. Bedroom nice and airy. Lovely fluffy towelling dressing gowns. Comfy huge bed but pillows would be nice if feather/down as bit firm and lumpy. Great location for walking the dog with a field at the bottom of the car park and the village green 2 mins away. Very nice dinner with warm service. Happened to be the village fete the next day so after encouragement from the locals we met when walking the dog we hung around to enjoy it. Cathy very kindly let us keep the car parked at the pub whilst we went to play.

absolutely exceptional !! the staff were incredible, the service, the rooms were beautiful, food was amazing. every aspect was just fantastic! I had booked this hotel for my pre-wedding stay for myself and bridal party and I could have been looked after any more than I was. the staff went over and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed and more. I have never been anywhere, that has made me feel so welcome and looked after from the moment I walked through the door. all the staff were exceptional !! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return. thank you so much to all the staff xx

The hotel was absolutely outstanding in every way - fantastic room, food to die for with really friendly management and staff. We stayed and ate there during a 2 night break and are already planning a return visit. It is a real gem ♥

Really struggling to find anything we didn't like - a very small niggle was stairs up to our room but that was more to do with my dodgy knee than the hotel LOL Once in the room it was fabulous ♥

Beautifully presented pub/hotel in a lovely village. Staff were welcoming and friendly. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but it looked lovely. Breakfast was well organised and good quality.

The rooms are separate and a few doors down from the pub itself. Ours had a bay window and looked out immediately onto the street which meant we had to have our curtains closed all the time as passers by could see straight in. If we booked again I would request a first floor room. Also breakfast was served between 9am and 10am only. We needed an early start so it was a bit of a push for us. But if you like a leisurely lie in it’s ideal.

We had a great sized room (Kato Star). Very comfy bed. Superb restaurant in the pub downstairs. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Very clean and well kept. Staff were super friendly, and happy to oblige with my food requirements.

Our room happened to be above a busy part of the pub which meant we could hear people below us until closing time. This wouldn’t put us off booking here again though, we’d definitely stay again!

Location was super quiet and very pretty village . Room was neat clean with suffient supplies of tea coffee etc with additional.water and orange juice in the fridge. Also toiletries supplied . Breakfast was plentiful /well cooked and presented with attentive staff. Very homely.

The mould.( not a lot).in the shower could have treatment. The rest of the bathroom was spotless. 2 Full size towels if 2 occupying the room . ( Yes I am sure I could have asked if noticed sooner!).

The room was clean and comfortable, all the furniture matched, and a massive television was mounted on the wall. The bathroom was compact, but made good use of the available space and again was spotlessly clean, with everything you could need including toiletries and bathrobes. The breakfast was the biggest I have ever eaten. Wonderful taste and quality. We didn’t eat again until the evening. Good choices of breakfast if you wanted something lighter.

The bed dominated the room, and it was quite tight between the far side and the wall.

the property is in a lovely location for what we needed. the bedroom was lovely and very clean, nice touched like little bottles of fresh orange juice in the fridge and a curly whirly to have with our hot chocolate. the towels were thick and luxurious. the food was delicious, with quality produce. the staff were so friendly.

this isn’t really a criticism, but as resident guests we missed having somewhere to sit comfortably before and after our evening meal. the bar area which would have been a good place to meet up with our friends, only had table set for dinner, so not comfy armchairs or sofas, it felt like it was a dining room not a bar.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, they accommodated us with a late dinner, nothing was too much trouble, the food was delicious, served piping hot and very fresh! The bedroom was extremely comfortable, they had thought of absolutely everything from fresh orange juice to chocolate to coffee pods and sanitary products, beds were comfortable with lovely bedding and we slept extremely well! Breakfast was absolutely delicious, a big pat on the back to the chef!! Really couldn't fault the place or the staff we had a lovely stay!!
