Lovely seafront double room, a little old-fashioned but with lots of light, charm and a seaview. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Clean and tidy and friendly reception staff. If you're looking for a slightly more glamorous room on a budget trip, would recommend this hotel. Would stay again!

Black-out curtains might be an improvement, as the room is extremely bright as soon as the sun rose. Could also do with a couple more electric sockets- only 2 in the room, which was tricky for 2 people needing to charge phones, to plug in the TV, fan or kettle etc.

Excellent value for money, very comfortable, friendly staff. Location right on the seafront just a few minutes walk from everywhere. This is a big hotel so please remember the cost of running something this size in this day and age. If your expecting a 5 star experience for this sort of money then it’s not for you. However if you looking for a comfortable hotel, in an ideal location and at a price that is likely unbeatable then you’ll not find better. Very happy customer. Thank you

Nothing I didn’t like it’s a budget hotel which was very good value. If you want to criticise by saying the wallpaper was old, there was a mark in the carpet then find a 5 star hotel and pay their prices. The upkeep on a Victorian hotel like this must be astronomical. Treat it for what it is, excellent value for money, right on the seafront, near to all pubs, cafes and the city centre. If people didn’t keep these places going we would all soon start to moan. Very happy. 😁

• Location • Price of stay • Seaview from room • Tea / Coffee facilities • Supply of towels + soap • In built DVD player in TV and in house DVD collection • WiFi • Comfortability ie room and bed • 24/7 reception

• Lift: can be awkward to get into with luggage, old and noisy • Given a twin room but was a single occupuant • Door lock and key which was slightly bent • Tap water stated it was 'not drinking water' however no issues after boiling and drinking it • Shower: the water pressure was weak. Also there was no hot water but was amended on the 2 day • The bathroom fixings was falling off the wall • Only 2 socket outlets in the room making it difficult to charge own devices and also use hotel appliances ie TV, kettle • Small TV and was difficult to view programs and watch films due to the quaility • Window: one did not stay up • Other guest banging thiers doors or standing outside chatting loudly • Loosing my bath puff which I left on the window to dry, it disappeared!

When I first saw the reviews I was a bit concerned that this place could be not nice, but actually I’m amazed, the corridor and reception look a bit vintage but the room had a lovely brand new bathtub, the water pressure for hot water was a bit low sometimes but it’s not too bad, we had a nice large tv and a sea view from the bed, spare toilet rolls, towels etc (this isn’t obvious these days..) the room was really spacious and we were offered cleaning service after the first night. The reviews from the era before the pandemic are not relevant I guess, so I highly recommend this place. I can see real effort (the staff are lovely) and they have definitely worked hard during the pandemic to refurbish the rooms and improve everything. and it was so cheap! I would come back there

The manager was very welcoming and helpful to resolve any issues that I raised. He certainly makes the place and is so dedicated.

It was a shame that they were not doing food although I knew that when I booked. Would have been nice to sit in the conservatory having breakfast while watch the sea views across the road. No atmosphere in the bar area, tv on bar lights off. As staying on my own would have been nice to see other guests enjoying themselves. Other hotels nearby had live music on and were buzzing. Just felt unwelcoming when you returned as so quiet.

Lovely traditional hotel in a beautiful location overlooking the central pier of Eastbourne. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our every need, and the stay was exceptional value for money for such a central location with a beautiful view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t have changed a thing - the staff even helped us with parking close by and everything we needed was readily available and offered to us at every step of our stay.

Friendly male staff on from Friday evening and for the duration of our stay. The cleaning lady was really helpful. Room was clean and appeared to have been recently decorated. The hotel was in an Ideal situation for the town, the pier and sea front. We would definitely stay there again. Very enjoyable stay.

On arrival female receptionist sent us to a room that appeared to already be occupied. Thankfully that as quickly resolved. It would have been good if food was available at the hotel, unfortunately to covid restrictions this has still not been reinstated.

Nothing Specific. But this is a great hotel for short visits to Eastbourne. Some hotels can be very noisy due to the Location. But on the sea front its not a problem as not so many people are outside shouting at each other.

Some of the Guests smoke in their rooms. The hotel staff go to great lengths to prevent this from happening but its not always possible for them to Police this. So it is not their fault.

There wasnt really anything negative about the hotel. The rennovations could do with finishing touches like boxing in the pipeworks etc as they look dirty and dont fit with the rest of the room

Great location, just off the main promenade, my room was at the rear of the hotel which was quiet, the room itself was only a single but still had its own showerroom which was in good condition although some of the rennovations looked unfinished. The tv in the room was tiny and from the bed was too small. Bit reminded me of the 80s so i got by 🤣

Great staff , very hospitable would try & oblige all requests. Fantastic views over looking the sea from bedroom & ground floor lounge. Comfortable clean beds. Bedroom & bathroom seemed recently decorated (apart from bathroom door).

Attention to detail needed eg chipped mug in bedroom, bathroom door could be cleaned (or painted as the door frames were painted) glass in windows cleaned but overall very good standard. Bar in lounge had limited supplies but always open for a drink.
