OYO Marine Parade Hotel, Eastbourne Pier

When my partner and I arrived, I won't lie, the outside didn't look great, but getting in, I was blown away by how nice the place was. The member of staff on was extremely helpful, helped my partner and I, who have mobility issues, with our bags, took the time to explain the elevator, the wifi, the bathroom, everything that we needed to know. Whenever we went downstairs, we were greeted by the friendly staff, and if we needed anything, like extra pillows, they made that happen quickly. The whole building had a very pleasant ambience, and it was nice to just sit in there. One thing I did note was how the tv signal was good, the rooms had all the needed facilities, and honestly, the price was better than any other place in the area. I know sometimes the smaller hotels aren't good, but I've stayed at some of the bigger hotels and found them lacking in so much. The staff were very respectful and welcoming as well. We needed to order something online during our stay, they received it, and kept it safe for us, and when we ordered in, the staff brought the food up for us. Honestly, I can't say enough nice things about this place. Definitely gonna visit again!

Honestly, there wasn't anything I didn't like. I wrote a lot in the above box, but there wasn't anything negative about our stay. We had everything we needed, polite staff, clean room, everything was perfect. I think there was only one thing that they did point out, and not their fault since it's the building, but to have a hot shower, we needed to leave the hot tap on in the bathroom sink for about 20-30 mins, because of the pipes, but they told us that to begin with, and honestly, it didn't cause any problems anyway.

To be honest, at that price we didn't expect much - but we were very pleasantly surprised. We had a nicely-decorated, well-equipped en suite room, spotlessly clean, with everything we needed - comfortable bed, good TV, efficient heater, table and chairs. Everything in working order. As for the "noisy" pub, we overlooked it and didn't hear a thing, over a Bank Holiday weekend. Some reviews say tea and coffee are only available in the foyer, but we had a tea-tray and kettle in our room. Extraordinary value.

Clearly one of the ways in which they keep the cost down is by not cleaning the rooms when you stay a few nights. It didn't bother us at all - it only takes a minute to make the bed, and if we'd needed more supplies we could have asked. But it might not please some people. No complaints.

Check in / out was smooth & quick. Ample parking on road outside (free between 6pm & 8pm). Plenty of tea/coffee provided for in-room facilities, chocolates and biscuits was also a nice touch. There was a lift in the hotel so didn't need to hump bags up the stairs. Room was clean. We were looking for a budget hotel to sleep overnight whilst visiting family in the area so didn't spend too much time in the hotel as only really looking for a good value clean, safe place to stay overnight with free parking overnight nearby. This hotel met that brief and would recommend for others seeking similar.

Nothing springs to mind

The room was actually lovely compared to the reviews. I wasn't expecting my room to be so nice, it was clean and fresh. I did find a hair in the towels which were left unfortunately. For the price it was good and fair with my room having a sea view which was a lovely addition. The walls were thin and I heard people snoring in the next room aswell as their TV quite loud late at night. The website did day there was room service available but this didn't seem to be an option and there was no breakfast included which I knew about. Parts of the hotel towards the ground floor did smell veey damp but the room itself was absolutely clean and fresh. The staff seemed helpful and friendly enough. For a room only it was good.

I didn't get a room I booked for but it was better than I expected it to be

A lovely hotel, staff very friendly. I woke up late at 11am, the man on the desk allowed me and my partner 30 minutes extra to get ready and leave 30 mins after we was meant to be checked out. Overall nice place, room clean and very cosy.

I think my room, room 25 must of been right next to a pump for the water which supplies showers, every time the toilet flushed or someone used the shower it was a very loud noise and vibrating sound. Really not the end of the world as we was out most of the night and was up very late anyway.

We went when the air show was on so it was very busy and roads were closed. Parking at the hotel is advertised but you can only park free from 6pm to 8am outside the hotel so we parked at an NCP which was 10-15 min walk away and very reasonable for an overnight stay. Hotel was clean and staff friendly. Room was suitable for our stay and the little touches, water, biscuits, toiletries were an added bonus. Would definitely stay here again

Hotel entrance could do with updating. Bar area did not seem to be open.

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly & helpful. The outside of the hotel needs some TLC but once located to my room & I was very pleased. The room catered for all my needs & was lovely. I really enjoyed my stay there & would happily stay there again. Great value for money!

The look of the hotel outside was quite shocking despite this though it didn't reflect at all on my stay there the front just needs some TLC.

The room was much better than I had anticipated and the view was nice too. Very clean and well looked after. A few different products in the bathroom. Bottled water and biscuits left in the room for us too.

We asked for ice and it wasn't available, but that's the only negative from the whole stay. I really can't fault it otherwise. Next time maybe I'd stay in a king-size room instead of a double room, but that's on me not the hotel's fault.

The location is great. Near city center, bus stop. Very friendly manager. I got a room with a sea view. It was great! In the room I found water and biscuits for tea, I was pleasantly surprised. It was just what I needed. I will definitely return to this hotel and recommend it to everyone. Everything is very good for such a low price.

Light in the toilet. Bad water flows down the drain in the sink and bathroom. Dirty carpet in the hallway.

The location is superb, right on the beachfront, walking distance to the shopping centre and local shops literally on the doorstep. Staff very polite and helpful. The facilities mirror budget price but everything needed is there. A perfect place for families who spend their days outside and come back for a good night sleep.

Would do with a bit of updating in some places, especially plumbing and fixtures and fittings in the bathroom.
