Castle Inn

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. We had a large group of 10 (2 families spread over 3 rooms) and they were great accommodating us all for dinner and breakfast. The food was excellent, would really recommend eating here when you stay.

Due to the Macerator in the bathroom it is very noisy when anyone uses the taps, shower or flushes the toilet. It is very dated and in need of a freshen up and maybe a carpet clean too but the beds and bathrooms were clean and suited our needs for a quick overnight stop off on the way home from France.

The breakfast was freshly prepared and all in all the accommodation represented good value for money. We particularly chose it because of the location in a village outside of Hythe, and therefore quieter, and because it was not far from the wedding venue of Port Lympne Hotel and Safari Park. Parking, although off-site, was problem free just outside and by the village green across from the inn. The owner was particularly welcoming.

The room we were allocated had a macerator in the bathroom because of the age of the building so the 'plumbing' could be a bit noisy - it was just a question of getting used to something unfamiliar.

Cracking little pub/restaurant/Hotel in a beautiful little village, bar was spacious with tvs throughout and very helpful staff, breakfast was great and very helpful for young child. Bedroom was needing a little TLC but was very comfortable and nice and clean. Beds were comfortable and en-suites had all the necessary toiletries.

Everything was good, just looks a bit tired, but it is an old building and if you can see past that it is excellent value.

The Landlady and husband team were more than welcoming and were very good at explaining all the do's and don't's to us it was accessible 24hrs and was a pleasure to stay here and we will definitely recommend to others nice place lovely people and picturesque location nice little sleepy village.

That we arrived too late to enjoy their lovely food and slightly disappointed they didn't have mojito on their cocktail menu but that won't stop us visiting again sometime

Owner Elaine & her staff could not have been any more helpful I had a couple of requests which they responded to and met brilliantly A clean & tidy room - I got a great nights sleep in

The room met my requirements well - The only point to note was that the shower riser rail was broken ( which had been broken by the previous nights guest) and the owner was in the process of getting a new one - but I didn't find it an issue during my stay.

Staff personnel were very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional! The public bar area was cosy and comfortable. The size of our room was satisfactory.

The room facilities were generally very aged. The mattress was old, worn and creaky. The toilet didn't flush properly. The built-in macerator was loud during use of bathroom facilities. Light traces of mould in the shower tub. Window couldn't be opened. All in all, the price for the room was OK, though we wouldn't have liked to have stayed more than one night.

I've stayed 3 times when travling, the location is great for what I need. The decor has improved much since my last stay, but some of the furniture was a little flimsy in the room. The staff are great, the food is much improved. I had to leave early in the morning that gave me a breakfast to go very nice.

I only, thing I could say is that the new decor has taken some of the old charm from the pub, but it's still a great place to stay. Thank you.

Lovely warm welcome by the staff. Shown to our room, which was clean & inviting. We had our evening meal with friends there & it was very well presented. We had a good choice of food for breakfast & this was hot & tasty.

There was a problem with the hot water, they did check after we reported it & when we went to our room worked better that evening. But the following morning we had same problem reoccur & we had no hot water again. Although we had this problem we would still stay there again, as they tried their best to resolve things.

The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. And the food is excellent - fresh and home-cooked.

THe owners have recently taken on a challenge with this property so it still looks a but rough round the edges but they have done a great job so far and the comfort, food and friendliness more than make up for that,

Arrived in the evening to a very nice welcome. Had a good value meal that night and Elaine and family went out of their way to make sure we had a good breakfast early next morning before we travelled on to Europe. Good clean accomodation in a peaceful location. and very convenient for Eurotunnel. Thank you Elaine and Ian.

We found bed a little hard but could not find any thing else we didn't like .
