Carl, the hotel manager was extremely welcoming and very knowledgeable of the local area. The food was very good indeed and the staff were friendly. Our rooms were in the courtyard and were very well furnished and immaculate. The only reason I would not recommend this hotel for families is because the rooms in the courtyard are very close to the outside seating area that was busy and noisy up until closing time. This means an early night is out of the question unless you have earplugs! However, the hotel website does make this clear and as we were on holiday, it really didn't matter to us. Topsham is such a beautiful place to stay with plenty of fabulous eateries, beautiful shops and great walks. We would not hesitate to recommend a visit and we hope to return in the future.

Nothing. We were very satisfied with our stay.

We arrived at the Globe Topsham Exeter after a long journey from Essex and had a problem finding a suitable parking space as my wife is disabled. As we were in desperate situation, we enquired at the check-in and all our problems were immediately solved. We were moved to a ground floor room with a disabled parking space just a few feet away and from that moment onward we found every thing to be perfect for our three night stay. We found all the staff were very helpful and friendly, our room was well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable, the restaurant food was well cooked and plentiful. Thank you, we had a great weekend at the Globe also if all St, Austell Inns and Hotels are of this standard we will be back again and again. Best regards Peter & Lesley

Fantastic location in Topsham old quarter and very close to the Quay. Very spacious room with bath and shower. We don't usually bother with breakfast as too expensive, but for £13 extra at the time of booking we got two delicious breakfasts with all the trimmings - great value. All the staff were very friendly. No car park, but were directed to a very cheap car park (£5/24hr), literally a couple of minutes up the road and within sight of the Globe. The rail station is right next to that car park, so very convenient

Stayed here lots of times. Convenient Hotel for our trips to Devon and Cornwall. Nice atmosphere in the hotel and the staff very friendly. Bedroom comfortable. Did not have breakfast. Ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good if a little predictable.

Bedroom decor a little run down. Overnight room rates are quite high considering no breakfast included. This is extra. No parking at hotel but we managed to park right outside on the main street overnight.Evening meal menu same as all the other St Austell pubs.

Repeat of my previous review as we extended our stay so Booking.com have asked to review again. Great Stay x Lovely hotel that was 16th century inn and in such a pretty and quaint little village. We were in room 1 which was huge and was more like a suite. View from our window was looking up the High Street which is full of fab shops including a Portuguese Deli and Topsham Wine Shop. Very helpful folks in the wine shop.Tastefully decorated, plenty space , more than adequate storage for clothing and the bed was I'm sure queen size and very comfortable. Bathroom was large with decent sized bath and shower over plus a full length mirror. The staff were all excellent, very willing to answer any queries and respond when asked for anything we required. The breakfasts we had were lovely and all cooked to our liking. We didn't have dinner as we were visiting family nearby so we ate there every night but feel sure it would be first class. Quayside has a fantastic antique centre over three floors well worth a visit. Matthews Hall has a wee cafe with tasty soups and sandwiches and on the Saturday morning there was a food market inside so I was able to buy some local honey and homemade chutney. Outside the hall a wee group of musicians were playing which just added to the great atmosphere. Just wandering around the streets and lanes was fun admiring the Dutch style buildings and all the village has to offer. Lots to explore and walking trails to enjoy, we'd definitely stay here again. Tip for parking - Use the parking at Holman Way as it's half the price of Matthews Hall parking. Little further to walk that's all. Disliked · Can't think of anything but a wee seat at the dressing able would have been useful and perhaps a few more hangers in the wardrobe

Few more hangers and a chair at dressing table otherwise was just perfect

Room was spacious and very well equipped. Tea and coffee tray had a nice selection of teas. Bathroom was spacious and pristine. Staff were welcoming and friendly.

The only negative was parking. We parked in the first car park on arrival in Topsham and walked down to the hotel but probably the 2nd car park by the quay would have been closer as we explored the area later after a nice meal at the Globe and it seemed to be an easier walk. In hindsight, we should have driven along fore Street to see if any of the on road parking slots which are unrestricted after 5pm were free as there were closer parking options available.

The room was lovely and a great size. It overlooked the outside seating area and was a little 'motel' looking but in a really cute way. The rooms were very modern and the facilities were great. The bed was a great size and was very comfortable. The staff were so so helpful and very keen for us to have a great stay. As always, it is the people that you remember and they went out of their way to be helpful. I would definitely go back. The breakfast was absolutely lovely! We complimented the chef it was so nice.

The parking situation is always tricky in these places, but we parked in a car park locally which was £5 for the whole day. The car park was a 2 minute walk from the hotel so it was fine but parking is always an issue in these lovely places so having a solution is great.

Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. We had a lunch in the dinning room and the food was delicious. We have recommended the Globe to family members in England. The staff was super friendly and held a travel bag for us so that we could visit the cemetery before coming back for lunch and boarding our train to return home. The price was very reasonable for such good quality.

The room was perfect. The only improvement we would suggest concerns the dining. We ordered steak. We were told the steaks are only cooked well done making them a little tougher and drier than we like. They were tasty but we prefer medium or medium rare instead of well done.

The apartment was right in the heart of Topsham and situated above the inn. We heard absolutely no noise from the bar area and the road outside was fairly quiet. Two great double rooms,a very useable kitchen and a fantastic lounge. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee and biscuits from the bar. The decor looked new and everything was as it should be and working. We enjoyed our stay and would book the apartment again.

There was a grerat range of kitchen utensils and cutlery however no decent size mugs (a small point that. We just got some from the charity shop across the road!). More importantly, if you struggle with stairs then this is probably not the apartment for you. Parking in Topsham is a problem but the main car park is very reasonable and under 10 mins walk. You can drop things off at the pub before parking.
