Loved the hotel, staff were always so friendly, breakfast was good food, rooms were so clean and serviced everyday! The only issue was a suspicious stain on the curtain but honestly it was so minor we didn’t bother bringing it up. Tea and coffee in the rooms. Plus shower gel, shampoo and soap. Bar open till late, affordable prices, clean restaurant as well. Honestly just such a good all round hotel. Also! One night we needed a hair dryer and reception brought one to us which was nice. Hotel is in a perfect location too, 10 min walk to town centre.

Minor suspicious stain on curtain but again this is just nit-picking.

The breakfast was good, we especially liked the system of being able to take out a breakfast for on the go. We booked this Hotel as it was dog friendly, there was water bowl and treats in reeption when we arrived and the receptionist gave our dog a lovely welcome, we were very impressed as this is the first time we have stayed with our dog, he has a lovely time!

Having to pay such an extortionate amount for the car parking, as a guest of the hoteI think this should not be the case, for a 2 night stay it was an extra £45 onto our hotel bill so making it less of a value fo money! With only one coffee machine there was always a queue for drinks, another machine would be helpful

Location on the outskirts of the City Centre near the railway and river, City Centre and historical attractions within easy walking distance or otherwise accessible by regular bus routes. Proximity to the river and the Quay, a waterside redevelopment housing cafes and boutiques great option for evening entertainment. Staff very welcoming, family room was clean and though cosy, met all requirements. Buffet style breakfast great value and more than sufficient to feed growing teens.

Given the cosiness of the room, provision of space for a proper morning stretch would have been a plus - not a problem in good weather with a short walk to grassed areas and a pair of trainers - on the other hand, there is an adjacent independently owned gym.

The bathroom was super, beds were also comfortable. I liked the TV, WiFi connection and the heating. The staff was friendly and helpful. We needed another ironer and they brought us a working one. Excellent position in Exeter, I'd definitely come back! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel in Exeter, good value for money, you won't regret it and will have a pleasant stay!

The only thing I didn't like is that we could smell cigarette smoke in the bathroom/bedroom sometimes randomly and we didn't know where it was coming from. We don't smoke. Make sure you clean the table and the bedside tables (I had to do it myself upon arrival after I spotted they were dirty).

Bright room with good facilities including USB connections next to bed. Lovely shower with great lighting in shower room. Near to the quay which was a lovely area and a short walk into the city although there is a bit of a steep hill to start with. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Was good to be able to have a pizza or a few other dishes in the evening as well as an alcoholic or soft drink. Staff excellent - friendly, helpful and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble for reception or breakfast staff. View of the river was a bonus. Residents could bring an animal to stay too which seemed a great idea. They stay on the first floor only and have an additional charge of £25 for the total stay to cover the extra cleaning of the room. There is a TKMax, Next and Boots about 5 minutes walk over the bridge as well as a swimming pool and Exeter St Thomas railway station where you can get a train to Dawlish, a lovely seaside town. Exeter St David’s is a 15 minute walk with some river views. This is an easy flat walk. My first and last photos show Exeter cathedral, second photo is the view from the room. Photos 3 to 6 very local to hotel.

Bed was not made and mugs not changed when housekeeping was done which was a bit of a let down. I expect more than a towel change and bin emptied.

We have stayed here many times on our visits to see family in Exeter. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the complimentary breakfast has everything that you could want, the staff are always friendly and helpful – this is a nice hotel that is value for money and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We didn’t like that the bar no longer stays open after 11pm (very unusual for guests staying at hotels) and on the Saturday night we tried to get a nightcap at 10.50pm and the bar was already shut down – all the chairs were already stacked on top of the tables and the room was in complete darkness – you have to walk through to get to the rooms. At breakfast the on duty staff were slow to replenish food and juices, yes it was busy but that is to be expected surely.

A really surprising choice and plenty of it.I was impressed that for once the needs of people with dietry intolerances were catered for.

The menu choice on offer for an evening meal. What there was on offer was not suitable for my dietry problems and the prices were very high. The weather conditions meant that looking for a restaurant was a struggle during the dark evenings. It would have been better to have stayed in the comfort of the hotel surroundings. Who chose the music?Have you never hear of Classical Music? In the bedroom I could not tune in to Classic F.M. or Premier Christian Radio! Why not?

It was in line with my expectations, I preferred it to the other Holiday inn express in Exeter, it was more modern and better organised. The set up for the lighting in the room was great, had it worked and a nice bonus to a budget hotel.

The light flickered in the room under the curtains, this meant that I couldn’t have 2 of the rooms lights on. The parking is fairly expensive at £15. You have to pay every time you leave the hotel, it did not seem to cover 24 hours. Had I realised there were parking meters on the road, I would have tried these as you do not need to pay overnight.

very good location and transport links.

The receptionist insisted that I pay the full amount of my stay for the period booked at the time of Check-In. I have stayed in various hotels or apartments in different countries during my business travels, and this is the first time in decades that I have been asked to pay in full at Check-In, especially when I had already guaranteed payment with my bank details at the time of booking.

The location is excellent. It’s a 5 minute walk to the city centre (albeit uphill, but it’s hardly onerous)- so ideal. It is a very quiet hotel. The breakfast is really good. Places like this often serve terrible coffee but the coffee machine here was beam to cup which, for coffee snobs like me, was a most welcome surprise. In general, I was impressed by the quality of the food and the variety on offer. Staff were helpful. Parking is on site and costs £15 a day; it’s very straight forward. From the hotel, it took20-30 minutes to get to Hatytor Vale in Dartmoor from the hotel.

I can’t sally fault this hotel.
