The staff were great, really friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for us on our journey home from the West Country, we are able to recharge the car at Darts Farm.

The food for dinner could have been better, Caesar salad requires crisp lettuce: Cos or Little Gem or Romain, not wilted ordinary lettuce. Fishcakes made of kedgeree simply don't work. The view out of the window of our room overlooked the roundabout, it didn't encourage us to gaze out of it! That said we needed twin beds, actually a double and a sofa bed were provided. The room was as booked but the sofa bed had not been made up when we arrived.

The room was excellent and the shower superb. The restaurant ambience was excellent. Dinner also good. Everything was up to scratch apart from one thing which was sadly our last memory. Breakfast on our final day was of unacceptable quality. As a change from a cooked breakfast we ordered croissant for me and pain au chocolat for my wife. The croissants were soggy and doughy with none of the expected and necessary lightness or crispness - one bite and it stuck to the roof of my mouth. The pain au chocolats were so hard my wife could barely cut through let alone bite them. We were offered replacements or alternatives but were put off by then. Our recommendation would be to not offer these items if they are not freshly baked.

Rooms a good size and very clean and comfortable beds and bedding. Fans provided. Early check in in one of the rooms was appreciated as we were going to a wedding. Tasty breakfast.

Quite expensive for a quick overnight stay for a family of four. Rooms were fine and although the lighting in the bedroom area was not great for getting ready it was ok and good lighting in the bathroom. Paid breakfast upfront as thought this might be cheaper, but actually you just get what you've paid to choose from the brunch menu and of course if you don't spend it all you don't get any of that back. Better to just order what you want on the day. Some public areas a bit shabby.

Good sized room with a powerful shower (including rainfall style shower) and lots of plug sockets, including USB ports. Great food and a well stocked bar. The cooked breakfast was amazing and large portions, plus unlimited self service tea/coffee/juice. The location was excellent to explore and also to get back on the main road. It is by a relatively busy road, but we weren’t disturbed by any traffic. There’s a large car park too. But we were mainly impressed by the staff, particularly Lesley at the front of house and Robert on the bar. They were especially helpful when I’d lost my mobile phone and thought I’d lost it whilst checking in (I hadn’t, but the staff - and local customers - were exceptionally helpful to help me try to find my phone which I was really grateful for). We would definitely stay again.

Ideally located for us as close to M5 for an overnight stop enroute to the south coast. There is a large car park and the inn was full of character and furnished beautifully. The staff were lovely and friendly and as we arrived at 8pm checked us in efficiently so that we could have dinner straight away. Dinner was excellent - I had lasagne and it was delicious. Our room was very nice, lovely furnishings and pictures on the wall. The towels were crisp white and soft and we had a powerful shower with plentiful hot water.

A bit underwhelmed at breakfast -possibly my fault because I didn’t have the cooked breakfast and chose the fruit, yoghurt and granola option. The fruit portion was small and the granola was very fine and powdery. A good breakfast for me includes fruit and yoghurt on the buffet board along with cereals in addition to a choice of cooked breakfasts. I did ask for a couple of slices of toast which were provided but again I almost expect toast to be offered as an accompanying option if desired. A minor thing only, our mattress was very firm, it’s just not what I am used to.

As soon as we arrived we got such a warm sincere welcome, we were even shown to our room. The room was very clean, bed very comfy and the plugs by the bed also had USB charge points (in fact I think most in the room had them), very handy. The bathroom was very bright with a shower which was nice an hot with good flow. Lovely soft towels. The hotel had a lovely breakfast/brunch menu and the full English did not disappoint, beautifully cooked, sausage was really tasty, eggs cooked to perfection. We stayed for dinner both nights, it is very popular so booking is a must, our meal was gorgeous. They also had a good choice of wines too. To top off a chilly day they have a fabulous fire to sit near, 🤗. Plenty of free parking,

I arrived late and the kitchen staff was already shutting down, but the manager insisted on providing me a great meal after such a long trip. All of the staff that evening were very attentive, kind, and cheerful. Throw in the ambiance of a very clean traditional pub and I couldn't ask for more. The room was clean, large, arranged well, and the sleep I experienced was the best I've had in a long time...big comfy bed. I've had many a full English breakfast in my day, but that was sincerely one of the best I have ever had. Once again, the attitude and care by the morning staff was impeccable. Will definitely be staying there again.

Staff were very friendly, greeted by a lovely chap on arrival who took us to our room. Hotel was in a great location for us as we stopped there on our way to Devon Cliffs for the night and visited Topsham from there. We had a lovely Sunday roast for our evening meal followed by a few drinks in the bar. Very accommodating to my wife and I and our 16 year old son. Will definitely be going again as it was great value for money.

Theres genuinely not one thing I could think of that I would have changed.

The location was brilliant, the staff were helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

It was expensive both for food and drinks, I felt breakfast should have been included in the price for both rooms and service, like abroad could have stretched beyond 09.30 considering checkout was 12pm, they knew a lot of the guests were there for a concert the previous night, so perhaps a bit of leeway on breakfast time, instead I had to pay for a breakfast, exactly the same thing but now called brunch and after paying £158 for two rooms, I thought it was a bit much.

Lesley in particular was extremely hospitable and helpful. The room was comfortable and had good quality towels, etc. Doom Bar draft beer available in the bar. Good pub food. Location was excellent for our needs. We flew to Exeter Airport and took a taxi to the premises. As a bus stop was right next door to the hotel, we used the buses to go into Topsham and Exeter. No issues with high petrol prices! It was also next to Dart's Farm where we spent some time.

There is nothing that we didn't like. One of the bar staff seemed rather quiet but he was probably just working hard and didn't have time to be too sociable.
