The main good thing about the Farmers Union is the staff. The chef Michael is very good at producing great meals and very friendly and chatty, which gives the place a nice atmosphere. I asked one of the staff if she could close the windows to my room as the traffic outside was a bit noisy, so she did her best but I think the windows will, at some point need replacing. She also brought me a fan to keep the room cool, and more tea bags as requested. All the staff were helpful and pleasant. The accommodation is also close to all amenities, so great for exploring Exeter.

The only thing I can think of is that the place might need double glazing on the road closest to the traffic, but apart from that, for the price, all good

Staff were so friendly and helpful specially the young man. The location was amasing for me because I had a conference at Exeter university and it was 20 minutes walking and the path to campus was so green and exciting! The room was clean and plenty of tea bags and coffee and milks are provided.

It is in a bussy street in the middle of city centre. So naturally there are a lot of noise around. This did not bother me a lot because I got up 8 and went out of the room 9 am andcome back 10 pm. But if you need to sleep more or during the day, it might not be a suitable case.

The staff were lovely, the price was good and the location was ideal (right in the city centre). The room was clean and the bed was comfy. It was very helpful having the pub downstairs for food during the evening.

The shower was very small and quite weak but it worked perfectly fine. The only other thing which did irritate me was the bright light shining through the window and around the curtains (I believe the light is to light up the pubs name), luckily it got turned off when the pub closed but it wasn't ideal for getting an early night.

Staff all very nice & friendly. Beds and bedding very comfortable. Didn't have breakfast but ate twice in the evening & it was very good. Good location for getting into town and also to the university (we were there for two graduation ceremonies). Was a bit worried about it being on a roundabout at a main road, but honestly wasn't disturbed by the traffic or other passing noise. Had a tea & coffee tray and nice biscuits! Public car park just opposite was handy. Separate entry/exit door for outside of opening hours, or if you don't want to go through the pub.

Our bathroom was a bit small, but was ok. The other person who went with us (we had 2 rooms) had a bigger one.

Excellent locations, walking distance into the City and down to the Quay. Great choice of bars and restaurants all in just a short walk away. The hotel was very comfortable, very clean and well presented room, lovely bar area downstairs and great menu, to suit all. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and ensured we had a great stay. Great pay and display car park opposite which was very convenient.

Everything a solo traveler could ask for just for a couple of nights before moving on. Cheap for Exeter in the summer and on short notice. Staff very helpful and the side door is great for arriving late / leaving early as I did.

The only thing I would mention is breakfast is a little late… or would be nice to have a slightly subsidised meal for dinner if staying above… perhaps a free drink. Made it a bit more expensive than one would like for solo travellers thus forcing one to look elsewhere for food rather than eating there as well!

Great room upstairs from the pub. Excellent price. Brilliant location for Exeter Phoenix Theatre. Staff all really lovely and helpful. Tasty breakfast. Every thing you need for an over night stay in the city at a super price.

This is not a complaint at all just to let others know, we had to leave to get our train at 9.30am Sunday morning and the pub was obviously closed. To be fair we had not checked this or even asked if there would be early breakfast on a Sunday, so it was our own fault. What a great place, we will stay here again.

The beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal.

We weren't shown where the bathroom was....(I wasn't aware that it was a shared bathroom, but I didn't look properly) The toilet was quite small not a massive problem, but someone had peed on the flood and it smelt like it wasn't 'Fresh'. Admittedly I didn't tell the staff as we were in a rush to head to our restaurant.

The staff was absolutely lovely. The location was great, too. The rooms were clean and the staff was helpful and good at problem solving.

Unfortunately breakfast was only served starting at 10 am, the opening time of the bar below the accommodation. We could not find this piece of information anywhere on the website while booking.

Friendly and approachable staff. They went out of their way to seat me at Sunday lunchtime even though I didn't book. It was a good location to stay in if you are going to The Exeter Pheonix. I will stay there again!

They had a stag party staying in the same corridor on Saturday night and were really noisy until 5 a.m. There's nothing that the staff could have done about that but it's something to be mindful of when you are booking a room in a pub!
