This hotel offers real value for money. The hotel is located next to a big public park that seemed great for walking and running. Even though it was cold and rainy outside, it was warm and cozy inside. The room was very comfortable and had everything I needed, including a comfortable bed and a desk to get work done. The room had a large window overlooking the street (great because you get a lot of daylight that way), yet the room was quiet. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. I asked for a late checkout and they were able to arrange that for me. Several days after checking out, I realized I lost something. I reached out to the hotel, they immediately got back to me and mailed the item to me (outside the UK!). I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again if I visit Glasgow in the future.

The hotel is in a quiet area but still close to all the city centre attractions - you could walk around easily but taxis are relatively cheap. It's not too far away from the airport, either. The rooms were clean and have everything you could need. Even though I only stayed for a night, it was nice, warm, and comfortable. Alan, the duty manager, was the only one I seen during my short stay and he was absolutely lovely and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

During my stay, the room above me were playing music until 2am and there was nobody to be found at the reception nor was I able to call them from the room. While the hotel does put up a kind notice to keep noise pollution to a minimum at night, it would've been handy if I could have rang someone and not have to walk around the hotel in my pj's.

My room was warm and the bed was comfortable.I liked having a small kettle in the room for making hot drinks with the tea, coffee and hot chocolate, sugar or sweetner sachets in the room. The room also had a hairdryer which i used.Breakfast was very nice with a continental breakfast and also a cooked breakfast with good selection of items to choose from. The location was ideal for me as i was going to a show at The King's Theatre which was only about a 15minute walk away.

The only downside was that when i got back to the hotel my door key did not work to open the front door to the hotel or my room but the member of staff that was working got that sorted fairly quickly.

The hotel is a nice building, located in a green, residential ,quiet area in Glasgow. As I arrived before check in time , they allowed me to leave my baggage so that I could easily go to the city centre to have lunch. The room I had was well furnished, clean and the window overlooked a hill covered with trees ; it was a lovely view. The bathroom was nice and clean. Breakfast was excellent and the staff at the dining room were kind. To sum up, the rate I paid was really fair.

Unfortunately in the hotel there is not a lift so I had to carry on my two suitcases up the stairs and it was tiring. At the reception, most of time there was nobody, you had to call for someone to come. There is not the nightporter. The hotel is a little far away to the city centre, you have to take a twenty minute walk to get there or get on a bus (n. 77, a daily ticket costs £ 5 ).

Exceptional service. Staff very helpful and friendly. The Manager Alan was more than happy to help with any request. Went the extra mile for guest. Room was very nice with lots of little extra touches. Good facilities in room lighting was excellent with bedside lamp on wall and above desk. The ensuite bathroom was a large size with a good sized shower cubicle. Very generous breakfast with lots of choices. Great Central location near shops/cafes etc. Didn't use bar in hotel but looked welcoming from outside nicely lit up at night. Breakfast room/lounge cosy with tv. Guests can use it during the day with free tea and coffee and biscuits provided. Excellent price for all of the facilities provided and breakfast.

The property was very clean and the staff members were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable with adequate storage such as drawers, a closet, and a desk. The beds were also fairly comfortable. It’s hard to rate a bed as they are quite subjective. Suffice it to say, I slept pretty well. The bathroom was a tad small but totally functional. The shower pressure was fine and there was always plenty of hot water. I appreciated that there was also a mirror and blow dryer located outside the bathroom. There was an electric kettle to boil water and coffee, tea, sugar, etc were included along with some biscuits.

It would have been nice if there was at least a small refrigerator in the room to keep water, juice, cheese, or whatever in. Some of the doors were very squeaky and loud. Easily fixable with a little WD40. There is a bistro in the basement and a few times the workers would empty the recycling into an outside bin and it was extremely loud and jarring. Especially in the wee hours. More care needs to be taken when the recycling is emptied.

Room facilities - coffee machine, amenities, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable. All in all, we found it had more attention to detail than other more expensive accommodations in the area. The location worked well for us too - not far from the city center and close to the university area which is full of places to go dining out.

Everything fine. It has no lift which might be uncomfortable when carrying your luggage - Just two floors high though.

We went to the Acorn because it was in walking distance of the 02. When we arrived, we jumped on a bus from Glasgow terminal bus station. It was unclear which stop to get off at . We were only 1/2 a km away. We called the hotel receptionist who was unable to tell us if there were any landmarks or streets and how to find it. He had no idea!! It took us a good 40 minutes of wandering about which was slightly annoying. Otherwise ,our stay was absolutely fine.

Acorn Hotel is located in an attractive neighbourhood across Kelvingrove Park, just over the M8 motorway at the edge of downtown Glasgow. Easy walk to the university, the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Kelvin Walkway and Botanic Garden, and various restaurants such as the Mother India Café. About 25 min walk to the River Clyde, the Transport Museum, and the city center. Our quiet corner room on the second floor overlooked a green area, and in addition offered southward a view of the city. Helpful staff, willing to store our luggage for a couple of hours on departure day, and later to recover the item that we lost in the hotel and send it to our home address.

The lay-out of our room was somewhat illogical, especially the placement of the TV set, perhaps because of there being windows in two different walls. Part the furniture could benefit from some upgrading. The bathroom was quite dark, especially a light by the mirror and wash basin was lacking. Buses from Buchanan bus station to the hotel are rather expensive.

Manager Kevin was outstanding - relentlessly helpful the breakfast was excellent as was the service, all provided for by Kevin - which is even more amazing - we only had one full day so it appeared that the location wasnt as central as we thought - but we now know that it was and we could have made more of the area if we had had more time

the room size - and only one easy chair - the size limits the amount of time you could stay in this hotel - no opportunity to relax in your room
