Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow SEC

Lovely clean, great looking rooms, beds were so soft and comfortable. Breakfast was really nice and had a really good selection available. Bar, breakfast and cleaning staff were all lovely.

Staff at the front desk were rather abrupt, as if they didn't want to be there and seemed annoyed when we asked if they could help us book taxis for the evening - several hours in advance - which in the end never turned up and they were apparently unable to ring to help find out where they were. So we ended up an hour late for our booked table. Also when checking in with the same staff, we asked for breakfast to be added to our stay, which we were told was fine, they'd add us on, only to find the next morning we hadn't been added. Thankfully the man running the breakfast service was lovely, sorted it, and was very helpful.

We spent 6 nights at Courtyard by Marriott Glasgow, definitely one of the best hotels around Glasgow, near the SEC! Rooms were spacious and the beds were massive, the decor was modern, with a cupboard, mini fridge etc. to maximise the use of space. The housekeeping team respectfully kept our room clean at all times, and the reception team was kind and helpful.

There was one day where we asked to have the sheets changed after housekeeping had been in as the new set had some questionable stains... but upon returning to the hotel that night it was evident that the covers were just pulled over it without being changed. Unfortunately the housekeeping team had already finished on that day, but Vivian was very helpful, immediately changed our rooms and offered a complimentary breakfast to compensate for the inconvenience that we had to go through for changing rooms. The rest of our stay was relaxing and uneventful, thank you to the team for your hospitality during our stay!

Good view of Clyde from window. Comfortable warm room. Very clean. Large television giving excellent images. Excellent wifi connection and easy to connect to it. Quiet location. Not even aware of other guests in neighbouring rooms.

Better signage to indicate where the hotel is. As the name of the hotel is high up it was difficult to pinpoint exactly where the hotel is. We parked in the secc car park and came out the back entrance. It would be handy if there was a sign with the hotels name on it at eye level. The mattress on the bed felt lumpy. I think this was the design of the mattress and I became accustomed to it after the first night.

The location was most important, close to the Clyde river and its attractions.

Having just arrived in Glasgow, the hotel was hard to find and the parking lot adjacent took us 30 minutes to locate. We just drove around and around. The problem is that there is no signage for the parking lot because it does not belong to the hotel. The entrance to the parking structure is between two buildings and accessing the hotel's reception is not obvious. This should be described better in the listing.

I liked everything about this hotel. I can't say enough about the staff members. I had the pleasure of dealing with multiple staff members from the front desk: Madona, Elli, the bold guy (sorry forgot his name), and honestly all. I don't think I have seen more helpful, professional, and cooperative staff in my life. Also, great value for your money, excellent neighborhood, very close to almost everything, safe, quite, I can't ask for more! Will definitely go back again and I strongly recommend this place.

Nothing, everything was almost perfect.

New hotel, modern and clean.

We paid £161 on a saver deal. This didn’t include breakfast which was okay as we ate in the city as we felt £19 per person was a lot. The room was lovely but lacked a few bits. No bottled water, no biscuits and only enough for 1 drink each in a take away cup. The price paid didn’t match the tea tray. You’re offered more at a premier inn. The television turned it self off every 10 minutes so if you were watching something you’d have to turn it back on, wait for it to load and then search for your program again as the guide didn’t work. Not the best check in, not explained anything or asked if we were interested in breakfast wasn’t told about the little food shop which we noticed on the way out or the bar. It lacked the standards you’d expect from a large hotel chain.

Everything went well for my Canadian relatives who I booked in for a treat.

Margie booking for cousins John and Cheryl. Bit of a mishap with front desk male staff member. I met with relatives at hotel but when I asked him to call me a taxi at 22.00 I was informed I had to walk across to the concert area where taxis were parked. They called me a taxi the night before no problem. OK, so a concert was on. I have mobility problems so eventually he called a taxi. I was informed I could have a wait up to an hour and a half. Fine, I said as didn't have an option. However, the taxi appeared within 5 minutes and the driver didn't understand why I was told that. I was made to feel like I was a nuisance and felt not helped at all.

the location was perfect for my goal, about 100 meter from the place needed. The room is well equipped, clean, with the great view from the fifth floor on Clyde and the crane. it is 15 min of walking to Kelvingrove museum and University of Glasgow. The Scottish Event Center is in 200 meters; the scientific museum (good for everybody and especially for kids) is in 400 meters. Lidl, Mc Donald, and few restaurants are close. The breakfast was adequate. The staff is absolutely helpful. It was good choice, and good value for money.

it is not "dislike" but it is about 20-25 min of walk from commercial city. There should be a train/tube ? I did not use it, and was walking until Glasgow Necropolis (in a very impressive area with phantastic views)

nice hotel couldn’t be any closer to the hydro where we were going to a concert. Room was clean and the air con made sure we were comfortable and not too hot as sometimes happens in hotels

didn’t like the paper cups in the room for the tea and coffee. we had booked a family room which had a sofa bed but this wasn’t made up when we arrived. there was a member of staff on the same floor when we informed her she came straight away and pulled out the bed and made it up.We were given an adapted room which we didn’t need therefor the toilet was raised and the sink lower but we managed.

The location is in a modern and quiet place overlooking the river, 10 minutes walk to the train station, and 15 minutes to Kivengroov Park. The rooms were nice and comfortable. The check-in and out were quick and easy, Neil did his best to co-locate our rooms nearby, and he handled my complex booking request very well. Madonna was very polite, helpful, and informative.

Internet connection was poor in most areas and most times. No complimentary drinking water in the rooms.
