In the city for a couple of trips to the theatre over the weekend and we were met at reception with a very friendly welcome. Given clear directions to find our room and other facilities in the hotel. Room was nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed, spacious shower room, plenty of power points for charging phones etc. Lovely atmosphere in the bar where we returned for a drink after our trip to the theatre on the first night...delicious Banana Rum cocktail! Reception also kept our case till after our day out at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and then the Kings theatre on the second day...saved lugging bags around the city!

Our room looked out to a building site but, there isn't a lot that can be done there as areas of the city continue to be redeveloped/refreshed. It was the weekend so there was no noise.

The staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful. The hotel building is also really nice as is the bar and restaurant, cool decor a great Malmaison ambience. Beds are comfy and generally all amenities at hand.

The rooms are well used and getting a bit tired and tatty, nothing too serious but not to be expected from the brand. Also they are building an office block behind so expect early morning building site antics. No problem for me but not the nicest view. I did consider the Malmaison chain to be quite special but this mantra has slipped somewhat so they need to raise their game a little (in my humble opinion).

Friendly staff, large and comfy bed, clean and good location

There was incident where fire brigade had to be called (still unknown why) and the alarm wasn’t loud and it sounded like the building next door from my room, no staff checked to make sure everyone was out the building safely, so me and my partner walked out at least 15 minutes after we heard the faint alarm, to firemen in the front entrance and a member of staff jokingly asking where we had came from, we laughed it off however wouldn’t have been impressed if it was a actual emergency

Superb staff - very friendly, helpful and welcoming, from the restaurant, bar to reception. Dog made very welcome too! Lovely characterful building. D, B & B was good value and the food great. Above all though the friendly team are really to be commended (especially I think her name was Kara at breakfast and in the bar, but the rest of the staff were all also Glasgow-friendly :) walking distance to main shopping areas.

Like all Malmaisons the rooms can be a bit dark - partly due to using older buildings with character, and sometimes its form over function - like the massively deep wash hand basin (and location of the wc) that prevents you from getting anywhere near the mirror in the bathroom. And the rainfall shower head with no hand shower attachment so you have to get head to toe soaked or use a shower cap. Public areas very hot and even though rads were off rooms got hot too (all 3 rooms that we booked as a group). Bed lovely and comfy (duvet again too thick if the rooms are going to be that hot).

Very clean, nice room with tea-coffee, hairdryed and even an iron with ironing board. No a/c, but there was a ventilator. Staff was very nice. Breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfortable.

The building itself is quite old, so one can hear everything from the corridor. I was waking up at night and in the morning becase someone was walking in the corridor (not loud, just passing by). I could hear it like it was in my room. In general, I think the hotel was overpriced.

I checked in at very short notice. Desk staff were extremely professional and friendly. Room suffered a little from street noise but was well appointed, tastefully furnished and had everything necessary for a short stay. The included breakfast was good and provided in a very pleasant restaurant area. Staff across the board were friendly and pleasant to interact with. Tremendous value for money at just over £100 for standard double including breakfast.

Street facing room suffered a little from cars using the area as a bit of a drag strip.

The room was immaculate, the cleanliness was good. The breakfast I got there just in time and the staff welcomed me in and not hurry me out. Lovely place and will stay here again.

I did not like the front of house staff who were to casual and nonchalant about the visitors. The receptionist was MIA and someone from the restaurant tried to book me in and did not know how to use the system but persevered and got there eventually!

spacious comfortable room , with lovely bar and breakfast facilities liked the chocolates and tea/ coffee machine available in room . also liked the Arran Aromatic shower gel and shampoo - an excellent brand of high quality

not well sign posted, shower over bath too high to climb in to , poor breakfast options . we live in Scotland the hotel is in Scotland yet the hotel offered an English breakfast! In addition parking facilities were some distance from the hotel and we had to park our car ourselves . at a neighbouring hotel they park your car for you and retrieve it for you on departure.

Very nice bar on the ground floor reception on the first floor and our bedroom was a twin room and it was very nice and clean

We had to report the sink was slightly blocked. I just thought they should’ve known that from cleaning the bathroom previously. for those arriving with the car, you can park in a local Q car park, but walking back to the hotel is a very steep incline for those who may struggle with that . It cost us around £18 for 24 hours. this included the discount from the hotel.

The staff were excellent. They were unfailingly polite and keen to make our stay a great experience - even upgrading us to a room because our allocated one was overly hot. The breakfasts were delicious, in particular the dishes prepared to order.

Like so many hotels, the breakfast was generally great but let down by the self-service drinks machine (never a satisfactory alternative to an individually prepared espresso) and toast-making facilities.
